On August 31, 2024, a buyer in the Netherlands reportedly received a 45mm Google Pixel Watch 3 about 10 days before its September 10 launch. Photos shared by Reddit user u/youreadusernamestoo show the Matte Hazel Aluminum Case model and its packaging. This was one reported early delivery—not an official early release or evidence that the watch was widely available.
One early delivery, not an early launch
The unboxing was reported on August 31, 2024, after a customer in the Netherlands received a 45mm Pixel Watch 3 ahead of its scheduled September 10 launch. The report does not identify the retailer or explain how the shipment arrived early. It also does not establish whether other customers received watches early, or whether the unit could be fully activated before launch. The photos document what one buyer received; they do not show that Google released the watch ahead of schedule. 9to5Google’s original report and gallery provide the source for the delivery details and images.
What the box contains
The photographed package opens in layers. An outer sleeve slides away to reveal a brown inner box, sealed at the back with a pill-shaped sticker. Inside are two sliding compartments:

- Upper compartment: the watch bands, shown separate from the watch body.
- Lower compartment: the watch body, wrapped in a translucent protective sheet, with a USB-C charging puck beneath it.
- Paperwork: included with the other package contents.
The protective wrap gives the watch a gift-like reveal, but that is simply an impression of the presentation—not a stated Google feature. The report identifies a charging puck; it does not establish that a wall adapter was included.

The 45mm Matte Hazel finish
The pictured watch is the 45mm Matte Hazel Aluminum Case configuration. In the photos, the finish looks lighter than Matte Black, with a somewhat gray cast and a grainy appearance. Those are visual impressions from the images, not measured color or finish specifications. This single 45mm example also should not be taken as a guide to the appearance or package contents of the 41mm version or other colors.
The report identifies the watch as running Wear OS 5, but an early unboxing is not a test of software completeness or a guarantee that every launch feature was available on that unit.

A packaging difference from earlier Pixel Watches
The bands appear disconnected from the watch in the package, unlike the presentation reported for the first two Pixel Watch generations. That is an observed packaging change. The photos do not establish that the band attachment mechanism changed, or that the arrangement is identical across every size, region, or configuration.

The gallery offers an early look at the package layout, band presentation, charging-puck placement, and the appearance of one 45mm Matte Hazel watch. It does not provide evidence about battery life, charging speed, display brightness, fitness or GPS accuracy, cellular activation, long-term durability, or compatibility behavior. The report also does not identify whether this particular watch was a Wi-Fi or LTE model, document its retailer or serial number, or confirm whether it was usable before launch.

In short, this is a useful record of one early-arriving box, not a review. The story appeared alongside reporting of another early Google-device delivery, a Pixel 9 Pro Fold, but that coincidence does not prove a wider shipping error or a coordinated early-release program.
