The Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 is real and has moved beyond the February 17, 2026 leak. Amazfit’s official listings confirm a large outdoor smartwatch with a 1.5-inch AMOLED display rated up to 3,000 nits, sapphire glass, selected Grade 5 titanium components, offline maps, 64GB of storage, dual-band positioning and support for six satellite systems.
The final watch also resolves one important rumor: it uses AMOLED, not the MicroLED panel suggested by earlier reports. Amazfit’s U.S. store listed it at $549.99 at the time of the cited research, while the Japanese official store listed it at ¥89,900. Availability and pricing vary by region.
The leak was largely accurate—but it is no longer just a leak
The original report appeared on February 17, 2026, after an Italian retailer called Epto temporarily listed the T-Rex Ultra 2. The reported European price was €512.90, but that was a pre-launch retailer listing, not confirmed global pricing. Gizmochina reported that the listing was later removed and that the watch had also appeared in Zepp app code.
Several headline specifications from that listing subsequently matched Amazfit’s own regional product pages. The official product confirms the bright AMOLED display, sapphire protection, titanium components, 10 ATM water resistance, large battery, offline maps and multi-system positioning.

What changed was the display technology. Earlier coverage had suggested a possible MicroLED successor to the original T-Rex Ultra. The final product is an AMOLED watch. The leak was therefore useful for identifying the product’s direction, but official specifications now take precedence over the rumor.
The reported launch timeline also developed quickly: coverage on February 19 described U.S. and U.K. availability, while Amazfit’s Japanese announcement gave February 27 as the Japanese release date.
Read the earlier MicroLED rumor coverage for the pre-launch context, but do not treat MicroLED as a specification of the finished watch.

These are manufacturer-listed specifications and battery estimates, not independent laboratory results. The official U.S. product page, Japanese product page and user manual provide the relevant product and operating details.
What does the 3,000-nit display claim mean?
Amazfit describes the T-Rex Ultra 2’s AMOLED panel as reaching up to 3,000 nits. That is a peak brightness figure, not a promise that every screen, setting or outdoor situation will remain at 3,000 nits continuously.
The U.S. specification footnote says the 3,000-nit mode is not supported in Low Temperature mode or when the battery is below 30 percent. Automatic brightness, temperature, power-saving settings, screen content and whether the display is actively lit can also affect what the wearer sees.
In practical terms, the claim is promising for daylight legibility, especially on exposed trails or water. It should not be interpreted as a guarantee of maximum brightness during a cold expedition, a low-battery emergency or always-on display operation.
It is titanium-reinforced, not an all-titanium watch
The T-Rex Ultra 2 does not have a completely titanium chassis. Amazfit identifies the main body as fiber-reinforced polymer, while the bezel, buttons and back panel are Grade 5 titanium. Sapphire glass covers the display.

“Titanium-component construction” or “titanium-reinforced construction” is accurate. Calling it a full-titanium watch is not. That distinction matters when comparing it with outdoor watches whose case or rear housing is made predominantly from titanium.
Six satellite systems and dual-band GPS explained
“Six satellite GPS” does not mean six GPS chips or six independent receivers. It refers to compatibility with six satellite-positioning systems or constellations. The watch is also advertised with dual-band positioning.
Multi-system, dual-band positioning can improve satellite availability and help a watch deal with difficult signal environments. It does not eliminate dropouts or guarantee better accuracy than every Garmin, Apple Watch Ultra or Galaxy Watch Ultra. Dense forests, deep valleys, tall buildings, reflective surfaces and poor satellite visibility can still affect a track.

Battery life also depends heavily on the selected tracking mode. The longest GPS figure is achieved by making power-saving trade-offs; it should not be compared directly with the most precise tracking mode.
Offline maps are the main expedition feature
The watch includes preloaded full-color base maps and supports offline navigation without a phone connection or mobile network. Amazfit lists route planning on the watch, point-of-interest search, point-to-point route creation, route guidance and rerouting features.
The Japanese product page also refers to base, contour and ski-area maps. However, readers should separate three different ideas:
- Preloaded base maps: map data already available on the watch.
- Downloaded regional maps: areas that may need to be selected or transferred through the Zepp app.
- Complete turn-by-turn navigation: the quality and depth of routing, trail data, contour detail and rerouting.
“Offline maps” does not automatically mean full topographic coverage or a navigation experience equivalent to Garmin’s mature mapping ecosystem. Before a remote trip, users should install the required region, pair the watch with Zepp, configure the route and verify that the map data is available offline. The official manual is the appropriate reference for setup and map behavior.
Battery life: impressive claims with very different scenarios
Amazfit quotes up to 30 days in typical use and up to 15 days in heavy use. With the always-on display enabled, the stated figure falls to up to 10 days in the relevant scenario.

For GPS activities, the official claims include:
- Up to 50 hours in accurate GPS mode.
- Up to 90 hours in power-saving GPS mode.
- Up to 177 hours for the manufacturer’s maximum GPS-life claim.
- Up to 44 hours for trail running in normal mode and 30 hours in heavy mode.
These figures describe fundamentally different usage patterns. A 30-day smartwatch estimate and a 177-hour GPS estimate are not competing measurements: one assumes intermittent everyday use, while the other prioritizes tracking endurance. Frequent GPS recording, AMOLED use, calls, maps, notifications, health sensing, flashlight use and cold temperatures can all reduce runtime.
The watch is therefore attractive for multi-day outdoor use, but buyers should choose a GPS mode based on the importance of track detail and battery conservation rather than assuming the longest number applies to every activity.
Water sports and diving
The T-Rex Ultra 2 has a 10 ATM water-resistance rating. The Japanese listing references ISO 22810:2010, and Amazfit advertises support for swimming, certain high-speed water sports and dual diving certifications.
That does not make the watch automatically suitable for every form of scuba diving, freediving, deep-water exposure or high-temperature water use. A 10 ATM rating is a standardized water-resistance classification, not blanket permission to operate at 100 meters in every real-world circumstance.
Anyone considering it for diving should check the exact certification, supported dive modes, depth limitations and safety warnings in the official manual. It should not be described as a professional dive computer without evidence that its dive functions meet the buyer’s specific requirements.
Smartwatch features and platform limits
The built-in microphone and speaker support Bluetooth calling. The watch also handles notifications, health and sports monitoring, voice-control functions listed in the product documentation, flashlight use and storage for apps or other supported content.
The 64GB figure is total storage; the U.S. listing reports 26.7GB available. That distinction is more useful than presenting the headline capacity as fully usable.

Platform support is not identical across phones. The Japanese official page specifically says notification replies are available on Android. iPhone users should not assume that every reply, integration or voice feature works in the same way as it does on Android.

The size is a major buying decision
At 51mm wide, 14.3mm thick and 89.2g with its strap, this is a substantial expedition-style watch. The large case helps accommodate the 870mAh battery, bright display, controls and outdoor hardware, but it will not suit every wrist.
Small-wrist users may find the lugs overhang, while the thickness can catch on sleeves, gloves or backpack cuffs. Wearing a watch this large overnight may also be uncomfortable. Conversely, users with larger wrists who prioritize battery life and a readable display may regard the size as a reasonable trade-off.
Before buying, compare the 51mm dimensions with a watch that already fits well. The T-Rex Ultra 2 is not the right choice for someone seeking a discreet, lightweight everyday smartwatch.
Price, release date and regional availability
Amazfit’s U.S. store listed the T-Rex Ultra 2 at $549.99 at the time of the cited research. That is a listed U.S. price, not a permanent worldwide MSRP; taxes, shipping, bundles and promotions may change the final cost.
The Japanese official store listed it at ¥89,900 and showed the product as sold out when crawled. That makes regional availability an important part of the buying decision. Do not convert the U.S. price into a global price or assume that a launch in one market guarantees stock in another.
The Japanese launch announcement gave February 27, 2026 as the local release date. For current stock, warranty coverage and delivery, check the relevant regional Amazfit store rather than relying on the original retailer leak.
How it compares with the main alternatives
Garmin Fenix and Tactix
Garmin remains the stronger comparison for buyers who prioritize mature navigation, training analytics, expedition tools, external sensors and a broad outdoor ecosystem. The T-Rex Ultra 2’s appeal is its combination of AMOLED hardware, long claimed battery life and a lower listed price than many flagship configurations. Exact Garmin pricing varies by model, size and promotions, so a direct price claim requires checking the specific configuration.

Apple’s alternative is more compelling for iPhone owners who want cellular connectivity, third-party apps, Apple services and deep phone integration. The T-Rex Ultra 2 is aimed more directly at endurance and outdoor navigation. Buyers planning long trips away from charging should compare the real charging requirements, not just display or sensor specifications.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra
Samsung’s watch is the more natural choice for users who value Wear OS apps and Samsung-phone integration. The Amazfit differentiators are its claimed multi-week everyday endurance, rugged expedition design and offline-map positioning. Android compatibility alone does not mean the software experience is interchangeable.
Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro
The T-Rex 3 Pro is the internal alternative for shoppers who want Amazfit’s rugged outdoor approach but may prefer a different size, feature mix or price tier. Current pricing and exact specification differences should be checked on the regional Amazfit store before making a direct comparison.
Who should buy the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2?
It is a strong candidate for buyers who spend long periods outdoors, want an AMOLED screen, value battery life over a large third-party app ecosystem and need offline navigation without depending on a phone at every moment. It is particularly suited to people comfortable wearing a large watch and willing to configure maps and GPS modes before a trip.

Who should skip it?
Look elsewhere if you have a small wrist, dislike thick watches or want a light sleep tracker. It is also a poor fit for buyers who need cellular service, a broad smartwatch-app ecosystem or seamless investment in Apple, Samsung or Garmin health and training platforms.
Serious divers should verify the exact certification and dive functionality before treating it as a replacement for a dedicated dive computer. Likewise, buyers seeking an all-titanium chassis should remember that the body is fiber-reinforced polymer.
Verdict
The Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 leak was mostly right about the hardware direction, but the final product is more clearly understood through Amazfit’s official specifications. It is a large, rugged AMOLED watch with sapphire glass, titanium components, offline maps, six-system dual-band positioning and unusually ambitious battery claims.
