Yes, $299 has been a genuine low price for the Apple Watch Series 10—but it usually refers to the 42mm GPS aluminum model, and the current listings need careful checking. Earlier deal coverage documented a new 42mm GPS Series 10 at $299, down from its $399 U.S. launch price. Best Buy’s indexed listings have also shown Series 10 models at $299.99, although some are refurbished, marketplace-supplied, or sold out.
That means you should not treat every “Apple Watch Series 10 for $299” result as the same deal. Confirm the condition, case size, connectivity, seller, band, and stock status before paying.
The $299 Apple Watch Series 10 deal, explained
The clearest reference point is the 42mm Apple Watch Series 10 with an aluminum case and GPS connectivity. Apple launched that configuration in the U.S. at $399, making $299 a $100 reduction. MacRumors previously reported the 42mm GPS model at $299 and described it as an all-time low at the time.

The most accurate description is therefore that Series 10 pricing is back near its previous record low, not necessarily that every retailer currently has a new watch in stock at exactly $299.

For the standard new 42mm GPS aluminum model, $299 has been reported as a historical all-time low. Because the price has appeared more than once, “returns to a record low” is safer than “sets a new record low.” That distinction matters: a refurbished watch at $299.99 is not equivalent to a new watch that previously sold at $299.

Best Buy has indexed at least one 46mm GPS listing at $299.99, but the captured result was sold out. Do not assume that a 46mm, cellular, or titanium watch qualifies for the same price as the basic 42mm GPS model.

Health and safety features can vary by country, model, and software version. Blood Oxygen availability in particular has varied by market and device configuration, so check the exact listing rather than assuming every feature is enabled.

42mm versus 46mm
The 42mm model is the likely target for the $299 deal because it was the lower-priced launch configuration. It is also lighter and generally a better fit for smaller wrists. The 46mm version provides a larger display, which can make text, controls, and workout information easier to read.
Apple says older 41mm bands are compatible with 42mm cases, while older 45mm bands are compatible with 46mm cases. Still, verify the included band size—such as S/M or M/L—because the watch price does not guarantee the fit you want. Apple’s launch announcement contains the case and band compatibility details.
GPS versus GPS + Cellular
A $299 Series 10 is most likely the GPS version. It can use the iPhone for calls, messages, streaming, and other connected services when away from Wi-Fi. It is a good choice if you normally carry your phone.
The GPS + Cellular version can handle more tasks independently, but it requires activation with a supported carrier and usually adds a recurring monthly charge. Do not buy a GPS model expecting it to provide standalone cellular service.

New versus refurbished: the detail that changes the deal
Best Buy’s indexed results show several Series 10 products around $299.99, but they include both new and Geek Squad Certified Refurbished watches. There are also marketplace listings, and some product pages show a price despite being sold out. A refurbished watch may be good value, but it is not the same purchase as a new watch at the historical $299 low.
For a refurbished or marketplace listing, check:
- The exact condition label and who performed the refurbishment
- The seller and fulfillment method
- Warranty length and who handles warranty claims
- Return-period details and any opened-wearable restrictions
- Battery-health disclosure, if provided
- Whether the original charger, box, and band are included
- Confirmation that Activation Lock has been removed
- Whether Apple warranty coverage is based on the original purchase date or the refurbisher’s sale
Apple also sells certified refurbished products through its official refurbished store. That option may be preferable to a marketplace seller, but check its live price and configuration; the captured listing does not establish a dependable current price.
Compatibility and regional limitations
Series 10 requires an iPhone. Apple’s current compatibility table lists the watch as working with an iPhone XS or later and the relevant software requirements, but those requirements can change. Check Apple’s current Apple Watch and iPhone compatibility page before ordering.

It does not work with Android phones. Cellular service requires a supported carrier plan, and some health capabilities vary by region, model, and software version.

Who should buy Series 10 at $299?
This is a strong purchase if you own a compatible iPhone, want a full-featured Apple Watch below current flagship pricing, and are comfortable with roughly one day of battery life. It is especially compelling for owners upgrading from much older watches such as Series 4, 5, or 6, or from an older SE model who want ECG, sleep-apnea notifications, temperature sensing, and the larger display experience.
Buy when the listing is new, orderable, and clearly identified as the 42mm GPS aluminum model at $299 or $299.99, with a return policy you accept.
Who should skip it or compare first?
- Android users: Apple Watch requires an iPhone.
- Cellular users: Choose GPS + Cellular and budget for carrier service instead.
- Multi-day battery users: Series 10 is rated for up to 18 hours of normal use, not several days.
- Buyers focused on longevity: The newer Series 11 is likely to have a longer future-support runway, although Apple has not guaranteed a specific number of years.

That difference can matter more than the $100 saving if you track sleep, exercise frequently, or dislike daily charging. As a practical rule, compare the exact new Series 11 price whenever it is within roughly $50 to $100 of the Series 10 deal.

The Apple Watch SE is another option for buyers who mainly want notifications, activity tracking, and basic safety features. It may omit the higher-end health sensors and display features that make Series 10 attractive; Apple launched the SE from $249 in 2024.
A five-minute buying checklist
- Open the product page: Do not rely on a search-result headline or cached price.
- Read the title and condition: Confirm “new” rather than refurbished, open-box, renewed, or used.
- Confirm the model: Check 42mm or 46mm, GPS or GPS + Cellular, and aluminum or titanium.
- Check the seller: Distinguish retailer inventory from a third-party marketplace offer.
- Verify the band: Confirm color and S/M or M/L sizing, plus charger and other included accessories.
- Check stock: Make sure it can actually be shipped or reserved, rather than merely displaying a price.
- Review the return and warranty terms: Pay particular attention to opened-wearable restrictions and refurbished coverage.
