ASUS announced the VivoWatch 6 on June 24, 2024, as a health-focused smartwatch built around fingertip blood-pressure and ECG measurements. Those features may not be available in every region, and ASUS’s claims should not be treated as proof that the watch can diagnose a condition or replace clinical equipment. ASUS has since announced the VivoWatch 6 Plus in 2026, so the original VivoWatch 6 is no longer the newest announced model in the line.
What is the ASUS VivoWatch 6?
The VivoWatch 6 (model HC-D06) is a health-first smartwatch. Its defining feature is a set of sensors that lets a wearer take certain readings by touching the watch with their fingers, rather than relying only on sensors against the wrist. ASUS positions it for health tracking and management, with features that include blood-pressure and ECG measurements, body-composition estimates, sleep tracking and medication reminders.
That focus sets it apart from watches whose main appeal is a broad app, communications or payments ecosystem. It still includes dual-frequency GPS, sports modes, a color AMOLED display and water resistance, but the health tools and their companion app are central to the proposition.

ASUS called it the world’s first smartwatch with certain fingertip-measurement capabilities in its launch announcement. That is ASUS’s claim, not an independently verified comparison.

Health features: what the watch tracks
- Blood pressure: ASUS describes fingertip-based blood-pressure measurement. Availability and authorization can vary by region; see the limitations below before relying on this function.
- ECG: The watch can record an ECG when the wearer touches its sensors with a thumb and forefinger for about 30 seconds. A wearable recording is not a complete cardiac evaluation and cannot rule out every heart problem.
- Pulse Transit Time Index: ASUS includes this metric among the watch’s health features. It is a derived indicator, not a direct substitute for a clinical blood-pressure reading.
- Heart rate and SpO₂: Optical sensors track heart rate and blood oxygen, including background measurement options. These readings are useful as wellness data, but should not be treated as medical diagnoses.
- Sleep and skin temperature: The watch records sleep-related information and skin-temperature data. ASUS does not position a skin-temperature reading as a core-body-temperature diagnosis.
- Body composition: Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) estimates body-fat percentage, skeletal muscle, water content and basal metabolic rate. These values can shift with hydration, recent exercise, food intake and how consistently the watch is used. They are best considered trend estimates under repeatable conditions, not lab measurements.
- Relaxation Index: Based on heart-rate variability, this is intended to reflect short-term relaxation or stress. It is a wellness indicator, not a mental-health assessment.
- Body Harmony Analysis: ASUS turns autonomic-nervous-system information into a seven-grid summary of mind-body status. Treat it as the company’s interpretation of wellness data, not an objective measure of emotional or psychological health.
ASUS HealthConnect brings tracked information together and lists medication reminders and blood-pressure management, including manually entered readings. Its Care Track cloud service is designed to let family members view a wearer’s location and health status. Remote sharing depends on the app, connectivity, account setup and the monitored person’s consent; it is not emergency response or continuous clinical supervision. App functions and requirements can change, so check current local support before buying.
How fingertip measurements work
The VivoWatch 6 combines ECG, photoplethysmography (PPG) and BIA sensors. For fingertip measurements, the wearer touches sensor modules on the watch face and side. The rear sensor is intended to take readings while the watch is worn; ASUS says background measurement intervals can range from five minutes to two hours, depending on the selected setting.
Taking an ECG
Wear the watch as directed, open the ECG function, and place the thumb and forefinger on the dual sensors for approximately 30 seconds. Keep still and follow the on-screen instructions. Poor contact, movement or other measurement conditions can affect a reading; consult the VivoWatch 6 manual for the device’s full instructions.
Taking a body-composition reading
Select the body-composition function and enter your weight. Then touch the left sensor with your thumb and place your index finger on the metal ring around the watch face. For more useful comparisons, measure under similar conditions each time; a single BIA result can vary with hydration and daily routine.

ASUS describes the ECG and PPG sensors as “medical-grade” and says the blood-pressure and ECG software supports a Software as a Medical Device framework. These are manufacturer descriptions, not a blanket statement of regulatory clearance or clinical equivalence in every country. ASUS specifically warns that blood-pressure and ECG functionality may vary by region.

The 5 ATM rating also does not automatically mean suitability for every water activity, hot tub or dive. Check the manual’s care and water-use guidance.
Battery life: 9 days typical, up to 14 in a restricted mode
ASUS’s US specification page lists 9 days of typical use. Its figure of up to 14 days applies to power-saving mode and specific test conditions, not unrestricted everyday use. The launch test disabled background blood-oxygen measurement, set Pulse Transit Time Index measurement to every 120 minutes, and included 100 received messages, two alarms, three medication reminders and two manual blood-pressure measurements a day. It used default watch-face brightness at level 3, and the watch was not worn during sleep.
Frequent GPS use, sleep tracking, background measurements, notifications and screen use can all affect endurance. ASUS’s launch announcement and current specification page give useful reference points, but they are manufacturer figures rather than an independent real-world battery test.

Price and availability
ASUS’s US technical-specification page lists the VivoWatch 6 at $299.99, but currently displays “Notify me” rather than confirming that it is in stock. The price is not proof of current availability. Check ASUS’s local store for your country, where pricing, stock, app support and health-feature access may differ.

Do not assume the VivoWatch 6’s blood-pressure or ECG features are available or authorized wherever the watch is sold. Check ASUS’s local product information and, where relevant, applicable regulatory information. The available product material does not establish that every feature is cleared for every market or intended to diagnose a condition.
If you are tracking hypertension, use a validated cuff-based monitor and follow your clinician’s advice. Treat smartwatch readings as supplementary trends unless a clinician confirms the device and feature are appropriate for your situation. Do not change medication based solely on a watch reading. For meaningful comparisons, follow your clinician’s guidance on resting, posture and repeat measurements.

Who should consider the VivoWatch 6?
It may suit buyers who want a health-focused watch, are interested in fingertip spot measurements, value multi-day battery claims, or want ASUS’s Care Track concept for consensual family sharing. It also has conventional smartwatch basics such as GPS, sports modes and 5 ATM water resistance.
It is a weaker fit if you need guaranteed blood-pressure or ECG access in your country, a broad third-party app ecosystem, cellular independence, or confirmed in-stock availability. At ASUS’s listed US price of $299.99, the regional and medical-use caveats matter as much as the sensor list. No independent accuracy, comfort or reliability testing is established by the cited ASUS product material.
How it compares with other watches
Choose by phone compatibility and the features you will actually use, rather than counting sensors. Apple Watch Series 11 is a broader option for iPhone owners who want an established app ecosystem and Apple health features; Apple says it requires iPhone 11 or later with iOS 26 or later. Samsung Galaxy Watch8 is a broader Wear OS choice, especially for Samsung phone users. Fitbit Sense 2 centers on Fitbit’s wellness ecosystem and includes an ECG app. Feature availability and phone requirements vary, and none should be presumed medically superior based on product descriptions alone.
