BleeqUp unveiled its Ranger AI Sports Camera Glasses at MWC in Barcelona on March 2, 2025. Designed for cyclists, Ranger combines a first-person camera, open-ear audio, rider intercom features and UV-protective lenses. The product has since gained newer recording-mode claims, but its headline 3K options come with an important iPhone compatibility restriction.
What BleeqUp showed at MWC 2025
BleeqUp presented Ranger as a four-in-one cycling wearable: eyewear, an action camera, open-ear headphones and a walkie-talkie-style communication system. The company also promoted AI-assisted tools for finding ride highlights and turning footage into short edits. Those are company descriptions, not independent performance findings. BleeqUp’s MWC announcement described the original camera offer as up to 1080p recording.
The idea is convenience: capture what the rider sees without mounting a camera on a helmet or handlebar, while keeping audio and eyewear in the same device. That integration may appeal to riders who want quick ride clips and group communication. It does not, by itself, establish that Ranger can replace a dedicated action camera or a specialized cycling radio.

Camera: separate the MWC claim from the later specs
The launch announcement said Ranger could record up to one hour of 1080p video on the glasses’ own battery. BleeqUp also described an optional helmet-mountable battery pack that could add roughly four hours and included a rear taillight. The resulting claim of up to five hours refers to the glasses plus that accessory—not five hours from the glasses alone.

The current product listing is more ambitious than the launch announcement. It specifies a 16MP camera, 120-degree field of view, AI/electronic stabilization, 32GB storage and recording modes of 1080p at 30 or 60 frames per second and 3K at 30 or 60fps. It also lists landscape 16:9 and portrait 9:16 video, and estimates storage for about 4.5 to 5.5 hours of footage. These are manufacturer specifications; the available information does not independently establish image quality, stabilization effectiveness, actual storage use or sustained recording time. Important: high-frame-rate modes are platform-limited
BleeqUp’s current product page says 1080p60, 3K30 and 3K60 require an iPhone 14 or newer running iOS 18.7.5 or later. The page says Android support is expected by the end of 2026; that is a future-facing company statement, not confirmation that those modes are currently available on Android. Buyers should check the live listing and app requirements for their phone before paying for a camera mode they expect to use.
Open-ear audio and rider communication
Ranger uses open-ear speakers rather than sealed earbuds, so riders can hear more of their surroundings than they would with in-ear audio. The MWC announcement referred to a dual-speaker arrangement; the later product page lists four speakers—two full-frequency and two high-frequency units—plus five microphones, microphone-array noise reduction and touch and voice controls. BleeqUp claims wind-noise reduction at speeds up to 40km/h, and offers an optional Bluetooth handlebar controller.

Open-ear design is a trade-off, not noise cancellation: wind, traffic and nearby conversations can compete with music or calls. BleeqUp’s review section includes one customer report of poorer audio and voice recording in windy conditions. That is an individual observation, not a controlled test, but it underscores why riders should not assume the advertised wind reduction makes audio immune to road conditions.
The company also promotes real-time intercom or walkie-talkie communication among riders. The available launch and product material does not establish its practical range, participant limit, whether every rider needs Ranger, or whether communication depends on cellular coverage, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or the app. Treat the intercom as a feature to verify against your actual group’s phones and routes, not as a confirmed off-grid radio replacement.
What “AI” means here
BleeqUp describes software that can identify moments such as scenery, intense sequences or sudden braking, add trip information such as time and route, and assemble a short clip with a tap. The current page also names AI Master Motion and AI Master Remix, marked beta on the page accessed. The documented pitch is automated highlight selection, editing, overlays and remixing—not a general-purpose conversational assistant built into the glasses.

The available information does not clarify how much processing happens on the glasses versus the phone, whether cloud upload is required, or whether these features require a subscription. If local-only processing or privacy controls are essential, confirm those points before buying.
Fit, lenses and weather limits
The current listing gives the frame a 49g weight, TR90 construction, one-size fit, an adjustable non-slip nose pad, UV400 lenses and IP54 protection. BleeqUp says Ranger supports prescription inserts or replaceable prescription lenses, as well as standard, photochromic, swappable and Zeiss-lens options. “Prescription compatible” does not guarantee that every prescription or progressive lens will fit; confirm the supported range, fitting route and total cost with the seller.
IP54 means limited dust protection and resistance to splashing; it is not a submersion rating and should not be read as unrestricted waterproofing. Do not assume the glasses are suitable for heavy rain, pressure washing or water sports without checking the instructions and warranty. One customer review also reports nose-pad discomfort where a helmet interacted with the frame on long rides. That is anecdotal, but trying the glasses with your own helmet fit is sensible where possible.

Camera glasses create a distinct privacy consideration: the lens points where the wearer looks, and people nearby may not realize they are being recorded. Check the recording indicator and privacy controls in the current product documentation, and follow local rules and riding-group expectations. The available material does not establish the details of its indicator or data handling.

- March 2, 2025: BleeqUp announced Ranger at MWC in Barcelona, describing 1080p recording and about one hour of glasses-only video.
- April 10, 2025: The company announced a Kickstarter campaign, with historical early-bird pricing from $299 to $329 and a stated reduced final MSRP of $449. These are launch-era figures, not current quotes. The announcement said Kickstarter shipments would begin in June 2025.
- August 18, 2026: The standard-lens listing on BleeqUp’s Italian-localized storefront displayed a price of $379 USD. This is a date- and storefront-specific retail signal, not a guarantee of price, shipping or availability in every region.
The current brand site presents standard-lens, Zeiss-lens and bundle options. Check the destination storefront for local currency, shipping terms and what accessories are included. The optional extended battery is important if your use depends on the five-hour claim; that runtime is not the glasses-only figure.
For context, Ranger is aimed at a different balance from general-purpose camera glasses such as Ray-Ban Meta, or a modular setup built around a GoPro and separate audio gear. A dedicated camera may offer a more established mount-and-accessory ecosystem; separate components are less integrated but easier to choose or replace individually. No direct image-quality comparison is established by the available evidence.

Who Ranger makes sense for
Ranger is most interesting to cyclists and outdoor creators who want hands-free, eye-level clips, prefer open-ear playback, ride with a group, and are comfortable relying on a companion-phone app. Its prescription and lens options may also help riders who want camera functions without giving up cycling eyewear.
It is a weaker fit if you need professional action-camera performance, long recording without an external pack, dependable audio in strong wind, or waterproofing beyond splash resistance. Android users should be particularly cautious about assuming the listed high-frame-rate modes are ready for their phone. Riders who want discreet, ordinary-looking glasses may also find this specialized sports eyewear too conspicuous.
