These watch faces are best treated as a historical Gear/Tizen archive in 2026, not a guaranteed shopping list. The original 2018 roundup featured 30 third-party faces for the Samsung Gear Sport, Gear S3, and Gear S2. Many remain useful design references, but Samsung’s Tizen watch-content ecosystem has been discontinued or restricted, and individual faces may no longer be downloadable.
Samsung says new Tizen watch apps could no longer be registered after February 8, 2023. Samsung’s Colombian support documentation says Tizen watch content downloads ended after December 31, 2025, while previously downloaded content can continue to work if it is not deleted. Availability may vary by region, account history, device software, and whether a face was already installed.
First: know which watches this list covers
The recommendations were made for:
- Samsung Gear Sport
- Samsung Gear S3 Frontier
- Samsung Gear S3 Classic
- Samsung Gear S2
- Samsung Gear S2 Classic
These watches use Samsung’s older Tizen platform. Samsung’s compatibility documentation identifies the Gear Sport as a Tizen 3.0 watch, upgradeable to Tizen 4.0.0.2; the Gear S3 as a Tizen 2.3 device that could receive later Tizen upgrades; and the Gear S2 as a Tizen 2.3-era device. Individual watch-face packages did not necessarily support every model or Tizen version. See Samsung’s compatibility table before assuming a face will work.
Do not confuse these faces with modern Galaxy Watch faces. Galaxy Watch4 and later use Wear OS Powered by Samsung, not the old Gear/Tizen platform. Their faces belong to the Google Play ecosystem and are not automatically compatible with the Gear Sport, Gear S3, or Gear S2.

Precieux Dignity-7
Style: Minimal and polished. Best for: Readers who want the time to dominate without abandoning a premium appearance. Its restrained layout makes it a natural match for a Gear S3’s more traditional styling.
Status: Historical recommendation; current availability is unverified. Do not assume the old store listing or price remains active.
Monostone Einfalt
Style: Stark, simple, and monochrome. Best for: A distraction-free display with basic information and strong visual clarity.

Style: Dark and modern. Best for: Owners who prefer a low-key face and want to avoid a bright, busy display.

Style: Simple and utility-oriented. Best for: Large, easy-to-read information rather than decorative detail. The name is generic, so search results and compatibility may be especially difficult to reproduce today.

Simple Gray 24hs
Style: Plain digital readability with a 24-hour presentation. Best for: Outdoor use, quick glances, and readers who value legibility over ornament.
Dark backgrounds and reduced always-on-display content are sensible battery-conscious choices on AMOLED watches, but actual battery life depends on brightness, AOD settings, sensors, notifications, firmware, and usage. The historical descriptions are not battery tests.
Traditional and dress-watch faces

For any analog face, check the normal display and the AOD version separately. Several faces in the original roundup changed color, removed widgets, or showed only the time in always-on mode. A face that looks excellent when active may look much plainer when the screen is idle.

Health and S Health complications are not guaranteed to show identical data on every Gear device. A face may need permission to access personal information, and it is not a replacement for Samsung Health or the underlying sensor application.

Chronograph
Style: Sporty stopwatch-inspired dial. Best for: Users who like the look of timing subdials even when they do not need a mechanical chronograph.
Lifesum
Style: Health and lifestyle oriented. Best for: Readers interested in making wellness-related information part of the watch-face experience. Availability and displayed data are especially dependent on the supporting app and platform.
ZWF Stealth
Style: Dark, customizable, and tactical. Best for: Experimenting with accents or a stealthier appearance.
Mr Men Black V1
Style: Black, graphic, and playful. Best for: A casual face with more character than a conventional dress design.

If the Galaxy Wearable app and store still expose a compatible listing for your watch and region, the historical process was generally:
- Pair the Gear watch with a compatible Android phone.
- Open Galaxy Wearable.
- Open the watch-face section.
- Choose Get more watch faces, or browse the Galaxy Store if that option appears.
- Select the face and tap Install or purchase it.
- Return to the watch-face list and apply it.
- Use the available customization controls for colors, widgets, or complications.
Samsung’s US support instructions document this legacy workflow, but the menu labels vary by model and app version, and the procedure is not a guarantee that the old Tizen catalog remains available in 2026.
Why a face may no longer be obtainable
The PhoneArena roundup was published in 2018 and updated October 11, 2018. It described Galaxy Apps and historical prices ranging from free to roughly $0.99–$2.49. Those prices and download labels are archival information, not current purchasing guidance.
Samsung’s developer documentation says Tizen watch-app distribution has been discontinued, and new Tizen watch apps could no longer be registered after February 8, 2023. Samsung’s Colombian support page states that the Tizen Watch content service ended December 31, 2025, with downloads unavailable from January 1, 2026. Because that explicit end-of-service statement is regional, availability can still depend on market and account history.

Troubleshooting an old Gear watch face
The face was previously installed but disappeared
- Check the watch’s installed-face list before changing anything.
- Confirm that the watch is paired to the same phone and Samsung account.
- Check purchase history if the old store still exposes it.
- Avoid resetting the watch or uninstalling related apps unnecessarily.
- If the face was deleted and the store no longer supplies it, there may be no supported recovery route.
Galaxy Wearable does not show the face store
Possible causes include an unsupported Android version, a newer Samsung phone, regional service closure, a reset or pairing failure, or delisting of the face. Samsung’s US compatibility page lists the Gear Sport, Gear S2 Classic, Gear S3 Frontier, and Gear S3 Classic as supporting certain Android phones from Android 4.3 through Android 13 with at least 1.5 GB of RAM. It also says these models are not compatible with Samsung Galaxy phones released with Android 14, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy A25, and Galaxy A15. That is Samsung’s documented position; individual Android 13 phones may not behave identically.
The face is compatible with a Gear S3 but not a Gear S2
Check the model and Tizen version rather than relying on the roundup title. Samsung notes that older and newer Tizen watches could require different packages, and that Tizen 4.0 and later could require separate packaging because of personal-information permissions.
A face looks different in always-on mode
That may be intentional. Historical AOD versions sometimes reduced color, removed widgets, or displayed only the time. Review the AOD behavior before choosing a face for its active-screen appearance.

Should you sideload an old watch face?
Generally, no. Random .wgt or .tpk downloads can contain malware, be incompatible with your model, fail because of developer certificates, violate copyright, or leave you without a reliable update path. Samsung’s SDB installation documentation describes developer and testing procedures, not a general consumer recommendation for finding unofficial copies.
If you now own a newer Galaxy Watch
Galaxy Watch4 and later use Wear OS Powered by Samsung. Look for faces through the Wear OS/Google Play route and follow the relevant Samsung Wear OS installation guidance. A newer Galaxy Watch may offer a more active face ecosystem, but it will not preserve compatibility with the historical Tizen faces listed here.
