Yes. Most Amazfit watches can connect to a Samsung Galaxy phone through Amazfit’s Zepp app. Do not set it up like a Samsung Galaxy Watch: Galaxy Watches use Galaxy Wearable, while Amazfit watches are added and managed in Zepp. Pairing normally enables synchronization, firmware updates, watch settings and phone notifications, but calling, replies, maps, music and health integrations vary by model, software version and region.
Before you start
- A charged Amazfit watch that is switched on.
- A Samsung Galaxy phone with Bluetooth and internet access enabled.
- The latest available Zepp app from Google Play or Amazfit’s official distribution channel.
- A Zepp account, if the current app asks you to sign in or create one.
- The watch close to the phone during setup.
- The watch disconnected from, or unpaired on, any previous phone.
Compatibility is not universal across every Amazfit model and Galaxy phone. Android, One UI, Zepp and watch firmware updates can change available features and menu names. Check the manual for your exact watch if you need Bluetooth calling, Alexa, maps, music controls, replies or a Samsung Health connection.
Install and prepare Zepp
- Install and open Zepp.
- Sign in or create an account when prompted.
- Allow Nearby devices or Bluetooth access. Android may present this permission during discovery rather than at first launch.
- Keep Bluetooth enabled and leave the phone online. Internet access is needed for account setup, initial synchronization and firmware downloads.
Zepp is the primary pairing application. Samsung notes that third-party Bluetooth products may need the manufacturer’s own support app; see its Bluetooth troubleshooting guidance.

Pair the watch through Zepp
- In Zepp, open Device, or Profile > My Devices if that is the layout shown.
- Tap Add device (the wording may differ).
- Choose the watch category or scan the QR code displayed on the watch. Some models are discovered automatically.
- Tap the matching watch name and confirm the pairing request on both the phone and watch.
- Wait for the first synchronization. Accept a firmware update if offered, keeping both devices nearby and charged.
Amazfit’s model documentation uses paths such as Device > [watch name] and Profile > My Devices > [watch name]. Follow the in-app prompt if your labels differ; a path documented for one watch is not necessarily universal.

Should you pair from Samsung Bluetooth settings first?
No. Use Zepp as the binding route. The watch may appear later under Settings > Connections > Bluetooth, but tapping it there alone may create a Bluetooth record without completing Zepp setup. If you manually paired it and Zepp cannot find it, forget the stale Amazfit entry, restart both devices and retry from Zepp.
Some watches use a second classic-Bluetooth profile for calls or audio. A second pairing request can therefore appear after the main Zepp connection. Accept it only when it is initiated by the watch or Zepp setup flow and your model supports that feature. Amazfit describes this separate pairing behavior in its Bluetooth guidance.
Set the Samsung permissions that keep the connection alive
Samsung menu names vary by Galaxy model, Android release and One UI version. Check these areas:

- Settings > Connections > Bluetooth: turn Bluetooth on.
- Settings > Apps > Zepp > Permissions: allow Nearby devices and any other permission requested for your model. Notification, microphone, contacts or call permissions may be needed for optional features.
- Notification access: enable Zepp when Android or Zepp asks for access. This is separate from simply allowing Zepp’s own notifications.
- Settings > Notifications: keep notifications on globally and for each app you want mirrored.
- Battery and background activity: set Zepp to Unrestricted, or the least restrictive equivalent, if it disconnects while the phone is idle.
- Remove Zepp from Sleeping apps and Deep sleeping apps. If your phone offers auto-start or app-lock controls, allow Zepp to run in the background.
- Allow background mobile data if synchronization stops whenever Zepp is closed.
Do not disable battery optimization for every application. Less restrictive Zepp settings can improve reliability but may increase phone battery use. Amazfit’s Android guidance covers Nearby-device permission, background activity, battery restrictions and device-specific auto-start controls (T-Rex 3 guidance; Android permission guidance).
Turn on phone notifications
Check the phone first
- Open Settings > Notifications.
- Confirm notifications are enabled for the apps you care about.
- Make sure those apps actually produce alerts in the phone’s notification panel.
- Check Do Not Disturb, Sleep, Modes and Routines, notification categories and lock-screen settings.
Then enable them in Zepp
- Open Zepp and select Device or Profile > My Devices.
- Choose the watch and open Notifications and Reminder(s).
- Select Notifications, App Alerts or App Notification Alerts.
- Grant notification access if prompted, then enable all alerts or select individual apps.
Zepp’s app list may not contain an app until that app has generated a notification. Send yourself a test alert, return to Zepp and check the list again. The watch generally mirrors alerts that reach the phone; it cannot mirror an alert suppressed on the phone itself. See Amazfit’s notification documentation.
Synchronization and health data
Leave the watch near the phone and keep Zepp open during the first sync or after a firmware update. Confirm that the watch appears on Zepp’s device page and that you are signed into the intended account. Reopen Zepp or pull to refresh if data is delayed. A Bluetooth connection does not guarantee that every stored measurement has already uploaded; some data is recorded on the watch and transferred later.

Do not assume Samsung Health receives all Amazfit data. Any integration depends on the exact watch, supported data categories, Zepp version and current regional software. Verify the model-specific documentation before relying on it.
Calls, music and other optional features
- Bluetooth calling: only some Amazfit watches support it. You may need a second Bluetooth call/audio pairing and microphone, contacts or phone permissions.
- Music controls, maps, Alexa, replies and third-party apps: support is model- and phone-dependent.
- Multiple wearable apps: running Galaxy Wearable and Zepp together is possible, but overlapping notification access, background restrictions or Bluetooth profiles can complicate troubleshooting.
If notifications work but calls do not, first confirm that your model supports calling, then check its manual for the secondary Bluetooth profile. Do not treat a notification-only connection as proof that call audio is supported.

Use this recovery sequence
1. Basic checks
Move the devices close together, charge them, turn Bluetooth off and on, ensure Airplane mode is off, disable watch Do Not Disturb/Sleep/Theater mode while testing, open Zepp and restart both devices. Samsung recommends restarting, charging and updating devices during Bluetooth troubleshooting; Amazfit also identifies watch modes and background operation as common notification causes.

2. Recheck permissions and background operation
Re-enable Nearby devices and notification access, confirm phone-level notifications, remove Zepp from sleeping lists and set its battery use to unrestricted if background disconnections continue. Reopen Zepp after changing settings.
3. Remove old-phone and stale connections
Turn off Bluetooth on the previous phone. In Samsung Bluetooth settings, forget duplicate or stale entries that clearly belong to the affected watch. Restart both devices before retrying. Amazfit specifically recommends disabling the old phone’s Bluetooth or unpairing it when another phone still owns the connection.
4. Repair the app
Force-close and reopen Zepp. Update it and the phone. Clear Zepp’s cache before clearing storage. Reinstalling or clearing storage can remove permissions and require setup again, so use those steps only after the less disruptive checks.

5. Reset only as a last resort
Synchronize or back up what you can, then consult the exact model manual before a factory reset. A reset can remove settings and locally stored, unsynchronized data. Samsung’s own reset guidance similarly recommends protecting data first (Samsung support).
What this setup does—and does not—provide
Zepp can normally synchronize supported health data, configure the watch, deliver phone notifications and install firmware. It does not convert an Amazfit into a Galaxy Watch, install Samsung-exclusive services or guarantee identical behavior across Galaxy phones. Feature availability is determined by the watch model, firmware, Zepp release, Android/One UI version and region.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one Amazfit watch stay connected to two phones?
Treat one phone as the active bound phone unless your model’s manual explicitly supports another arrangement. Moving to a new Galaxy phone usually requires disabling Bluetooth on the old phone and pairing the watch again in Zepp.

Zepp’s device binding and Android’s Bluetooth records are related but not identical. The Zepp device page is the authoritative place to manage the Amazfit connection; a separate Bluetooth entry may represent calling or audio.
Will a Samsung phone update change my notification setup?
It can. Android or One UI updates may reset notification access, battery restrictions or sleeping-app status, so recheck Zepp’s permissions and background settings after a major update.
The Bottom Line
For a reliable Amazfit–Samsung connection, pair in Zepp, approve Nearby devices and notification access, allow Zepp to run in the background, and troubleshoot notifications separately from calling. If it still fails, remove old-phone and stale Bluetooth bindings before considering app data deletion or a factory reset.
