Yes—Google Calendar is available on Samsung Galaxy Watches that run Wear OS. It is a Wear OS app, not a Samsung-exclusive feature, and it does not work on every Samsung smartwatch: older Tizen-based models are outside this app ecosystem. Google announced Calendar for Wear OS on May 10, 2023; it is not a new launch. On Wear OS 4 and later, Google Calendar replaces the older Agenda app.
Which Samsung watches can use Google Calendar?
The key requirement is Wear OS. Samsung identifies the Galaxy Watch4 and newer Wear OS Galaxy Watch models as part of this family. Older Samsung watches that run Tizen should not be assumed to support the Google Calendar Wear OS app. Exact availability can also depend on software version, region, account setup and device compatibility. A Wear OS Galaxy Watch also needs an Android phone: Samsung says these watches are not compatible with iPhones. For Google Calendar, add a Google Account to the watch and use a phone that supports Google Mobile Services.
What changed: Google Calendar versus Agenda
Google Calendar is an interactive watch app. Agenda was the older, view-only calendar experience. Google says Calendar replaces Agenda from Wear OS 4 onward, though the transition shown on a particular watch can vary with its software and manufacturer interface. Google announced the Wear OS app on May 10, 2023, with availability expected later that year; the word “now” in older launch coverage does not describe a new release. What can Google Calendar do on the watch?
The watch app is designed for quick schedule checks and a limited set of actions, rather than full calendar administration. Google documents these capabilities:
- View upcoming events, event details and tasks.
- Receive event and task notifications.
- Respond to calendar invitations and delete events.
- Mark tasks complete.
- Open related details on the phone and navigate to an event location.
- Get quick-glance calendar information through watch-face complications, tiles or widgets.
Google’s current Wear OS Calendar help page lists the supported actions. It does not document full event creation or comprehensive editing on the watch, so use the phone or web app for workflows that need those tools.

How to install or open it
Install from the watch
- Wake the watch and open the Play Store.
- Search for Google Calendar.
- Select the watch-compatible result and tap Install or Update.
- Open the app from the watch’s app launcher.
Install from an Android phone
- Open the Google Play Store on the phone and search for Google Calendar.
- Look for Available on more devices or a device selector.
- Select the connected watch if it is listed, then tap Install.

Find an app that is already installed
- Press the watch’s crown or swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the app launcher.
- Scroll to Calendar and tap it.
Labels and menu placement can differ by model, One UI Watch version and language. If you see Calendar rather than Google Calendar, check whether it is the installed Google app before installing anything again.

Show the right calendars and accounts
The watch displays calendars belonging to Google Accounts added to the watch. To control which calendars are visible, Google’s documented phone-side route is:
- Open Google Calendar on the Android phone.
- Tap the top-left Menu button.
- Select the calendars you want visible.
- Confirm that the relevant Google Account is also added to the watch.
The watch app does not directly support non-Google accounts or Work Profile/Managed Workspace accounts, according to Google. A calendar from another service appearing inside the phone’s Google Calendar app does not make that service a supported account on the watch. Users who depend on non-Google sources may need Samsung Calendar, another compatible Wear OS app, or the phone app.

Does it work without a phone nearby?
Some notifications and actions can work while the watch is disconnected from the phone. That does not mean the app works fully offline: Google says an internet connection on the watch is required to sync new data. A watch connected to Wi-Fi or LTE can therefore receive current information without a nearby phone, while a disconnected watch may not have newly updated events.
Important limits to know
Four-week viewing window
Google says the watch can show events and tasks up to four weeks ahead. Events more than 30 days in the future are not available on the watch, though they remain accessible in Calendar on the web and phone.

Not a full calendar editor
The documented watch actions focus on viewing, responding to invitations, deleting events, navigating and completing tasks. For creating or comprehensively editing events, switch to the phone or web version.
Account restrictions
Direct support is for Google Accounts added to the watch. Non-Google accounts and Work Profile or Managed Workspace accounts are not supported in the Wear OS Google Calendar app.
Google Calendar or Samsung Calendar?
Choose based on where your calendars and reminders already live, not on a claim that one watch app universally has more features. Google Calendar is the natural choice if you use Google Account calendars and want their events, tasks and invitation responses on your wrist. Samsung Calendar may suit people whose schedules and reminders are centered on Samsung’s phone ecosystem or who need to work around Google Calendar’s account restrictions. The watch app’s documented feature set is narrower than the phone and web experience.

Google Calendar does not appear in Play Store search
- Confirm the watch is a Wear OS model, not an older Tizen watch.
- Update the watch software and Play Store where updates are available.
- Finish pairing and setup in Galaxy Wearable, then search from the watch’s Play Store.
- Check the app launcher for Calendar; the app may already be present under that name.
- Restart the phone and watch if setup or updates appear stuck.
Search results can be filtered by device compatibility, account or region. Sideloading an app is not a dependable fix for compatibility or account problems.

Events are missing
- Check that the correct Google Account is added to the watch.
- In the phone’s Google Calendar app, make sure the relevant calendar is selected.
- Check whether the event is more than 30 days away.
- Confirm the event belongs to a Google Account calendar, not a non-Google or unsupported managed account.
- Give the watch an internet connection so it can synchronize new data.
Notifications do not arrive
- Review Calendar notification settings on the phone and notification permissions for the watch.
- Check whether Do Not Disturb, Bedtime, Theater or battery-saving modes are suppressing alerts.
- Confirm the event is on a supported account and that the watch has synchronized recently.
