Google began rolling out the Pixel Watch 2’s November 2023 update on November 7. The initial release was for supported Pixel Watch 2 LTE devices running Wear OS 4; Google did not say that Pixel Watch 2 Wi-Fi or the original Pixel Watch was included at the same time. The update, build TWD9.231005.005.B3, was described as a package of bug fixes and improvements—not a major feature or Wear OS upgrade.
Who was included in the November update?
Google’s announcement had a broad “Google Pixel Watch Update – Nov 2023” heading, but its eligibility wording named supported Pixel Watch 2 LTE devices running Wear OS 4. The rollout began November 7 and was phased over roughly the following week, with timing varying by carrier and device. A missing notification on the first day did not necessarily indicate a problem. Google’s announcement is the clearest source for the initial scope.

Wear OS 4 was already available on Pixel Watch 2 before this patch: Google announced the stable release for the watch on October 4, 2023. The November package was therefore a maintenance update, not a new major Wear OS version. Android Developers’ Wear OS 4 announcement provides that earlier context.

The announced global build was TWD9.231005.005.B3. Google’s release description said it included “bug fixes and improvements.” It did not name particular fixes or promise changes to battery life, scrolling, notifications, health tracking, or other specific features. Treat those outcomes as unconfirmed rather than reading them into the general release note. Google’s Pixel Watch OTA images page is the official reference for OTA builds.

How to check for and install it
- On the watch, open Settings.
- Tap System, then System updates.
- If an update is offered, follow the on-screen instructions. Keep the watch on its charger during installation; support-community guidance says the charger may be needed to complete the process.
Wi-Fi and a restart before checking again are sensible steps if the update is not showing. Because the rollout was phased and carrier- and device-dependent, an update that was not immediately available could simply be delayed.
Why might the watch still show an October security date?
Some owners reported that their watch displayed an October 2023 security-patch date even after installing build .B3. In the Google support discussion, that mismatch was raised by users; it was not a formal explanation that the patch date was intentionally unchanged. If your build is TWD9.231005.005.B3, that is the build Google identified for this November release, even if the displayed date still says October. The preceding build was reported in the discussion as ending in .B1, but that comparison came from a product-expert reply rather than a formal release-note table. Check the build rather than relying only on the patch-date label.

If the update is missing
First confirm that your watch matches the announcement’s stated scope: Pixel Watch 2 LTE running Wear OS 4. Then try this sequence:

A Google support-community product expert also suggested repeatedly tapping the small watch icon on the update screen to prompt another check. This is an unofficial tip, not a guaranteed or documented update method. Avoid casually sideloading an OTA image: the announcement does not provide model-specific sideloading steps, and using the wrong image or procedure can cause problems. If an eligible watch still cannot update after the rollout window, contact Google or your carrier for device-specific help.

What owners should take away
The November update was real, but the initial announcement was narrower than a generic “Pixel Watch 2 update” headline suggests: it named supported LTE models, gave a specific build, and promised only bug fixes and improvements. It did not announce a new feature set, and the reported October-date display mismatch means the patch label alone may not tell the whole story.
