Pixel Watch 3 can broadcast live heart-rate data to equipment and apps that support the Bluetooth Heart Rate Profile. Google’s current list marks Peloton, Concept2, Echelon, Hydrow, iFIT/NordicTrack, Life Fitness, Matrix Fitness, Schwinn Fitness, Spinning, Strava, Tonal, Wahoo and Zwift as tested and confirmed. Garmin and Technogym are listed separately under Extended pairing, which is a less-qualified compatibility option.
That is a brand-and-app list, not a promise that every treadmill, bike or console from those names will work. The exact model, console software and ability to receive Bluetooth heart-rate data matter. Google’s current compatibility and setup guidance is the best place to check before relying on a specific machine.
Pixel Watch 3 compatibility: the complete list
Google groups compatible receivers into two categories. “Tested and confirmed” is its standard list; Garmin and Technogym appear under “Extended pairing.” In either case, check the specific equipment or app: Google does not guarantee that every product or console from a listed brand supports the feature.
| Brand or app | Type | Google’s status | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peloton | Bike, Tread, Row and app | Tested and confirmed | The particular equipment or app must offer a heart-rate connection. |
| Concept2 | RowErg, SkiErg and other machines | Tested and confirmed | Google requires the latest Performance Monitor firmware. Bluetooth Smart heart-rate support is available on the PM5; older monitors differ. See Concept2’s compatibility details. |
| Echelon | Connected fitness equipment | Tested and confirmed | Model-level support may vary. |
| Hydrow | Connected rower | Tested and confirmed | Check the machine and software version. |
| iFIT / NordicTrack | Treadmills and other connected equipment | Tested and confirmed | Keep the equipment software current and confirm support on your model. |
| Life Fitness | Commercial and home cardio equipment | Tested and confirmed | Console features vary by model. |
| Matrix Fitness | Cardio equipment | Tested and confirmed | Check that the console accepts Bluetooth heart-rate data. |
| Schwinn Fitness | Connected bikes and cardio equipment | Tested and confirmed | Support can differ between models. |
| Spinning | Indoor cycling equipment | Tested and confirmed | Confirm the bike’s console supports Bluetooth heart-rate monitors. |
| Strava | Fitness app | Tested and confirmed | This is app compatibility, not gym-machine compatibility. |
| Tonal | Connected strength-training system | Tested and confirmed | Compatible Tonal hardware and software are required. |
| Wahoo | Fitness computers and equipment | Tested and confirmed | Check Bluetooth heart-rate support on the receiving device. |
| Zwift | Fitness app and platform | Tested and confirmed | Pair the watch through the app’s heart-rate monitor flow; another active connection may prevent detection. |
| Garmin | Fitness equipment and devices | Extended pairing | Google does not put it in the standard tested-and-confirmed group; compatibility can depend on the receiver. |
| Technogym | Connected gym equipment | Extended pairing | Check the exact machine and console rather than assuming all models work. |
Google says other devices using the Bluetooth Heart Rate Profile may also work, but Bluetooth alone is not enough. A machine with Bluetooth audio, for example, may not accept heart-rate data. Even a console designed for heart-rate straps may not accept smartwatch broadcasts.

What sharing heart rate does—and doesn’t—mean
When connected, the watch acts as a Bluetooth heart-rate source. A compatible machine or app can display the watch’s current reading, making it easier to view heart rate or zone feedback on a treadmill, rower, bike computer or workout screen.
This is best understood as live heart-rate broadcasting, not universal workout synchronization. It does not by itself mean the watch controls the equipment, transmits cadence or power, or imports every machine metric and workout summary into Google Health. What gets recorded depends on the receiving app, the workout setup and the integrations involved.
How to connect Pixel Watch 3 to equipment or an app
- On the watch, swipe down from the watch face to open Quick Settings.
- Tap Connected Fitness, then tap Connect.
- If prompted during first-time setup, enable Allow more devices when broader discoverability is needed.
- On the machine or in the app, open its heart-rate monitor or Bluetooth-device screen. Depending on the product, the menu may be called Sensors, Heart Rate Monitor, Bluetooth Devices or Add Device.
- Select Pixel Watch when it appears, and confirm on the watch if asked.
- Start your workout and check that a live heart-rate value appears on the receiving screen.
The equipment-side menu varies by manufacturer, so follow that product’s instructions if the labels differ. Google’s current support page calls the feature Connected Fitness and uses the name Google Health; older Pixel Watch material may refer to Fitbit.

Concept2: check the monitor, not just the machine
Google’s Concept2 listing requires the latest Performance Monitor firmware. Concept2 identifies Bluetooth Smart heart-rate support on the PM5; do not assume a PM3 or PM4 has the same Bluetooth behavior. Confirm your monitor and firmware against Concept2’s compatibility information.

Peloton and iFIT/NordicTrack: check your specific console
Both ecosystems are on Google’s confirmed list, but the listing is not a model-by-model guarantee. If you are buying equipment specifically to use the watch, verify the exact model and console support before purchasing.
Zwift: free the connection if the watch is not detected
Zwift warns that a heart-rate monitor may not appear if it is already connected to another app or device. Disconnect the watch from other receivers and close competing fitness apps before pairing. See Zwift’s heart-rate monitor connection guide.
Garmin and Technogym: use the Extended pairing distinction
Google lists these brands under Extended pairing, not alongside its tested-and-confirmed group. That means pairing may be available through the broader option, but it is not a blanket assurance for every Garmin receiver or Technogym console. Exact model, software, region and existing connections can affect results.

If Pixel Watch 3 won’t pair or the reading is missing
- Update the equipment. Install available console or machine firmware. For Concept2, confirm the monitor model and latest firmware.
- Restart the watch. Google recommends restarting it when connection problems persist.
- Make the receiver search. Open the machine’s or app’s Bluetooth heart-rate pairing screen before trying to connect from the watch.
- Disconnect other receivers. Remove the watch from other fitness equipment or apps that may already be using its heart-rate connection.
- Close competing apps. An app still connected in the background can interfere with discovery; this is a known issue to check with Zwift as well.
- Move closer. Keep the watch near the receiving console or phone while pairing.
- Toggle Connected Fitness. Turn it off and back on, then retry the equipment-side search.
- Clear an old pairing. Remove an old Pixel Watch entry from the receiver’s Bluetooth list, then pair again.
- For an unlisted receiver, try broader pairing. Enable Allow more devices/Extended pairing if available. An unlisted device still may not work.
If the watch connects but the receiver shows no reading, verify the receiver accepts the Bluetooth Heart Rate Profile specifically—not merely Bluetooth connections or heart-rate straps using a different standard. A gym’s older commercial console may not have the same capabilities as a manufacturer’s newer model, and facility settings may also restrict pairing.

Will it work with any Bluetooth treadmill?
No. Bluetooth is a family of connection features, not a guarantee of Bluetooth heart-rate reception. The treadmill needs the right heart-rate profile and must accept the watch as a source. A machine might support Bluetooth audio, proprietary controls or chest straps without supporting a smartwatch’s Bluetooth heart-rate broadcast. Check both the manufacturer and the exact console model before buying equipment for this purpose.
Pixel Watch 3 or a dedicated heart-rate strap?
If you already own Pixel Watch 3 and use equipment on Google’s tested list, try its built-in broadcasting first; you may not need another device. The watch is convenient because it combines heart-rate sharing with smartwatch and fitness-tracking features.
A dedicated heart-rate strap may be a better fit if you move among many brands of gym equipment, cycling computers and apps, or need ANT+ support. Some straps offer Bluetooth and ANT+, but you still need to match the transmitter standards to each receiver. Concept2’s PM5, for example, supports Bluetooth Smart and ANT+, while older monitors have different requirements. A strap costs extra and adds another device to wear and maintain, and it does not replace smartwatch features.
Pixel Watch 3 also requires an Android phone running Android 10 or newer for pairing; LTE does not remove that requirement. Check Google’s Pixel Watch 3 product information if phone compatibility is part of your decision.
