Short answer: On some Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro firmware, the dialer code *#272*719434266344# opens a CSC-selection menu. If it does not, the alternative reported method is flashing firmware with NetOdin—but that is an unofficial, higher-risk procedure, not a normal Samsung setting. Neither method is guaranteed to work on current firmware or to unlock region-restricted services.
Before changing anything, identify the exact watch model and software build, back up your data, and check whether the CSC you want is actually offered. If the code is rejected, the desired CSC is absent, or you cannot verify firmware for your exact model, stop rather than trying random codes or firmware.
What CSC changes—and what it cannot
CSC means Country Specific Code (also called a country or region configuration). On a Samsung watch, it can affect regional software settings, service and app availability, and sometimes the update channel or carrier behavior. It is only one part of a watch’s regional setup.

A CSC change may help with an imported watch that cannot pair with a phone from another region, or may affect whether some regional apps and services appear. A workaround has been reported for some China-imported Watch5 compatibility errors, but it is not guaranteed, and reverting to the original China configuration may be difficult. That reported workaround should not be treated as a universal fix.

Samsung Wallet/Pay, ECG, blood-pressure monitoring, and LTE depend on more than the watch CSC. Phone and account region, app and card availability, carrier rules, device certification, local authorization, and hardware can all matter. A software change does not make a medically regulated feature locally approved.
Before you start: verify the watch and protect your data
- Record the exact model number. The product name alone is not enough. Common Bluetooth models include SM-R900 (Watch5 40 mm), SM-R910 (Watch5 44 mm), and SM-R920 (Watch5 Pro). LTE variants include models such as SM-R905, SM-R915, and SM-R925, with regional suffixes. Verify the full identifier in Galaxy Wearable → Watch settings → About watch, on the box or label, or in Download Mode if needed. - Record your current software build and region information. Note the original purchase country, Bluetooth or LTE status, phone model and region, carrier (if LTE), and which services currently work. CSC may not be displayed as clearly as it is on a Galaxy phone. Photograph the identifying screens before changing anything.
- Back up and prepare for a wipe. Use the Galaxy Wearable app’s backup option, and confirm health data has synchronized to Samsung Health. Assume a CSC install or flash may factory-reset the watch. Settings, apps, watch faces, local unsynchronized data, payment cards, passes, and eSIM setup may need to be restored or repeated.
- Keep account and setup details ready. Know the Samsung account credentials used on the watch, keep the paired phone nearby, and note any payment cards or transit passes that must be added again.
- Charge the watch. Start above 50% battery and do not begin if the watch or phone is unstable. For an LTE model, do not proceed while depending on active cellular service unless you are prepared to reprovision the eSIM and verify carrier support again.
CSC changing is not documented in the supplied Samsung support material as an official consumer workflow. Samsung’s Watch5 support resources include newer Wear OS 5 and Wear OS 6 manuals, so a procedure reported for launch-era firmware should not be assumed to work on your current build. Check Samsung’s current product support resources for your variant. Unofficial modification can complicate support; warranty rights and outcomes vary by country.
Method 1: Try the watch dialer code
This is the less involved method to try first, but it is still an unofficial modification and may reset the watch. The code was reported to open a CSC menu on some Watch5 firmware; reports do not establish that it works on Wear OS 5 or 6 or on every region and model.
- On the watch, open the Phone or Dialer app.
- Enter
*#272*719434266344#. - If a CSC selection screen appears, read its warning. Continue only if you accept that setup and data may be erased.
- Tap OK, then choose a CSC that is actually listed for your watch.
- Tap Install and confirm the final warning. Let the watch restart and finish setup without interrupting it.
- Pair the watch again through Galaxy Wearable if prompted, restore your backup, and test the specific service or compatibility problem you were trying to solve.
If the code does nothing, shows an error, or the desired CSC is not in the list, stop. Do not try guessed variations. The menu, if present, is the only useful indication of which options that particular watch reports as installable; even a listed option is not a guarantee that installation or regional services will work.

The following are historical, anecdotal associations from older user reports—not a current compatibility list or recommendation. Codes offered on one watch may not appear on another.

These outcomes were reported rather than established by a current Samsung compatibility matrix. One user report said changing from INU to XAA enabled Samsung Pay, but a single report cannot establish that Wallet will work for another watch, phone, account, or bank. The older CSC guide and an independent reproduction describe similar steps and reported results.
Method 2: Flash firmware with NetOdin
NetOdin flashing is a firmware modification, not simply another way to select a setting. A wrong or incompatible package can leave the watch unable to boot or require service. Use this fallback only if you can verify the full model, the firmware’s target variant and generation, and a reliable source. The supplied research does not establish a current official NetOdin download or firmware repository, so do not rely on an arbitrary file host, modified executable, or paid “CSC unlock” tool.

The older reported workflow is as follows. It is not a guarantee that current firmware will expose the same screens or that NetOdin will work on your computer:
- Obtain firmware only after verifying it matches the watch’s exact model, hardware variant, and compatible bootloader generation. Extract it on a Windows PC. Extract NetOdin from a source you can independently trust.
- Enter the watch’s Download Mode. According to the older procedure, double-press the Power/Home key to enter AP mode. Confirm the displayed model is the watch you intend to modify.
- On the PC, open Wi-Fi settings and connect to the temporary network broadcast by the watch. Confirm the watch indicates a connection.
- Launch NetOdin. Proceed only if it detects the watch and its log shows an IP address. If detection or the model is uncertain, do not flash.
- Load the correct firmware file into the appropriate field. The older guide says this was generally a TAR file in the AP field; do not assume that applies to a different package format or current tool version.
- Start the flash only when the model and package are verified. Do not disconnect, close the program, turn off the PC, or interrupt the watch while flashing. Wait for the watch to reboot and complete setup.
- After startup, verify the software information and test the original reason for the change. A successful boot alone does not prove the desired CSC or service is working.
If NetOdin does not detect the watch
Common possibilities include the watch not being in AP mode, the PC joining the wrong Wi-Fi network, a VPN or firewall interfering, an incompatible NetOdin version, or the watch leaving Download Mode. Stop before flashing. Disconnect from a VPN, check firewall access temporarily, re-enter Download/AP mode, reconnect to the watch’s temporary Wi-Fi network, and reopen NetOdin. Verify the full model again before selecting any firmware.
If a flash fails
Do not respond by trying random firmware. Record or photograph the error. Follow on-screen instructions, and re-enter Download Mode only if possible. Any retry must use a package verified for the exact model and compatible bootloader generation. If the watch cannot boot or enter Download Mode, contact Samsung service rather than repeatedly attempting blind flashes.

Pair the watch again, restore data, reinstall apps through supported routes, and test the feature that motivated the change. Check pairing and notifications, Samsung Wallet/Pay, ECG and blood-pressure availability, LTE activation and eSIM, calls and messages, Samsung Health synchronization, GPS and emergency features, and software updates as relevant. Reconfigure payment cards and carrier service if required.

If the watch boots but Wallet, ECG, blood pressure, or LTE remains unavailable, the CSC was not the only dependency. For Wallet, confirm support for the watch, phone, Samsung account region, and card issuer. For health features, confirm current local Samsung Health Monitor availability and authorization; changing a CSC does not confer medical approval. For LTE, check the exact model’s bands, carrier eligibility, and eSIM provisioning. A changed update channel may also alter update timing or cause update problems; it is not a reliable way to get updates sooner.

- Consider the dialer method only when you have a specific regional compatibility issue, have backed up the watch, and accept the possibility of a reset and difficult rollback.
- Do not proceed if the code is rejected, the target CSC is absent, you cannot identify the exact model, or no verified matching firmware is available.
- Think carefully before modifying if LTE or Wallet is mission-critical, the watch is under warranty, or the original regional configuration may be hard to restore.
- Use Samsung or qualified service if the watch is bricked, carrier service is essential, or you are not prepared to recover from a failed flash.
A CSC change can alter software configuration; it cannot turn one regional hardware model into another or guarantee access to every service in the destination country.

Can I change the CSC back?
Some reports say returning to the previous CSC is difficult or unavailable through normal settings, particularly for certain imported watches. Do not proceed unless you are prepared to keep the new configuration or seek service.
