Most Amazfit watches get their time and time zone from the phone connected through the Zepp app. Correct the phone’s date, time and time zone, reconnect the watch in Zepp, then let it synchronize. If the clock is right but you want a different display, change the watch’s 12-hour or 24-hour format instead.
Change the time on your Amazfit watch
- Check the phone’s time and time zone. Make sure both are correct before syncing; the watch may copy an incorrect phone setting.
- Turn on Bluetooth and keep the watch close to the phone.
- Open the Zepp app and wait for the watch to show as connected on its device page. Seeing the watch in the phone’s Bluetooth settings alone does not confirm that Zepp is connected.
- Sync the watch. Let Zepp synchronize. In app versions where it is available, pulling down on the home or device screen may start a sync; the exact gesture and labels vary.
- Check the watch face once synchronization finishes.
Amazfit manuals for several models describe the watch adopting the phone’s system time during synchronization. The menu names and behavior are not identical on every GTR, GTS, Bip, Active, Balance, Cheetah, T-Rex or Band model, so treat these steps as the general method rather than a guarantee for every device. Check the phone’s date and time
On Android: Open Settings and look for System → Date & time. Menu names differ by phone, so searching Settings for “Date & time” is often quickest. Enable Set time automatically and, if available, Set time zone automatically. Confirm the displayed local time and zone.
On iPhone: Go to Settings → General → Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Confirm the time zone is correct. Automatic zone detection may depend on the phone’s network or location settings.

After correcting either phone, open Zepp and sync again. A disconnected watch may keep showing its last synchronized time; changing the phone’s clock will not necessarily update the watch until it reconnects.
Switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time
On many recent Amazfit models, open the watch’s app list and go to Settings → Watch Face & Time → Time Format, then choose 12-hour or 24-hour. Some watches use a label such as Dial and Time, or organize settings differently. If that path is missing, consult the guide for your exact model.

This setting changes how the time is displayed, not the underlying clock or time zone. On supported models, choosing the format on the watch can make the display format independent of the phone’s setting. Amazfit documents this behavior for models including the Active Max; it should not be assumed to apply identically to every watch.
Fix a wrong time zone or a one-hour error
If the watch is exactly an hour behind or ahead, especially after travel or a daylight-saving change, check the phone’s time zone as well as the hour shown on its screen. For example, after traveling from Eastern Time to Central Time, the phone may still be set to the old zone even if its clock appears plausible.

- Turn on automatic time-zone setting on the phone, if available, and verify the zone shown.
- After a trip or seasonal clock change, open Zepp and synchronize while the watch is connected.
- If the watch still shows the old zone, restart both phone and watch, reconnect in Zepp, and sync again.
- Check whether you are reading the main local clock or a separate World Clock city.
Do not assume your model has a manual time-zone control. The documentation for many models describes phone-based synchronization, and available controls vary. A one-hour mismatch is more often a phone zone or synchronization issue than evidence of a faulty watch.

- Confirm the phone’s time, date and time zone are right.
- Keep the watch nearby, toggle Bluetooth off and on, then open Zepp and wait for a connection.
- Force-close and reopen Zepp, then try synchronization again.
- Restart the phone and watch.
- Check that Zepp is allowed to run in the background and has the permissions it requests for connecting to your watch. Battery-management settings can restrict background activity on some phones.
- Check Zepp and the watch for offered software updates. An update is a reasonable troubleshooting step, but it is not a guaranteed fix.
- If the connection still fails, unpair the watch inside Zepp and pair it again through the app.
- Consider a factory reset only after other steps fail and your data has synchronized. A reset can remove locally stored data and require pairing again.
If Zepp shows a successful connection and completed sync but the primary clock remains wrong, check the exact model’s user guide or contact Amazfit support.
Make sure the watch face is showing the main clock
A watch can have the correct local time while a face appears to show something else. Some faces include a World Clock or dual-time complication, and a custom face may display another city, use a different 12/24-hour convention, or fail to refresh immediately. Temporarily switching to a default face can help determine whether the issue is the face rather than the watch’s system clock.
The main clock is generally the local time synchronized from the phone. A World Clock is an additional city time configured separately on supported models; changing it does not necessarily change the main clock.
