To enable blood-pressure monitoring, you need Samsung Health Monitor, a supported Galaxy Watch paired with a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone, and a third-party upper-arm blood-pressure cuff. The watch must be calibrated with three cuff readings within 30 minutes, then recalibrated every 28 days.
Check compatibility first
For the current U.S. rollout, Samsung supports blood-pressure monitoring on Galaxy Watch4 and later released models, excluding Galaxy Fit devices. The watch must run Wear OS 4.0 or later, and it must be paired with a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone running Android 12 or later. Samsung Health Monitor is not available on iPhone or other Android phone brands. Availability also depends on country and rollout stage.
U.S. baseline: Galaxy Watch4 or newer, Wear OS 4.0 or newer, a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone on Android 12 or newer, Samsung Health Monitor available in your region, and an upper-arm blood-pressure cuff for calibration.

Samsung began a phased U.S. rollout on March 31, 2026. Older models such as Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch3 may support Health Monitor blood-pressure features in selected countries, but they are not part of the current U.S. Watch4-and-newer requirement. Check Samsung’s current U.S. compatibility information if you are outside the United States.

Calibrate the watch with an upper-arm cuff
Calibration is mandatory. The watch estimates blood pressure using its optical sensor after it has been compared with readings from a separate upper-arm cuff. You do not need to wear the cuff for every later watch measurement, but you must keep it for recalibration.
- Open Samsung Health Monitor on the phone.
- Tap Blood pressure at the bottom.
- Tap Calibrate the watch.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Use a third-party upper-arm cuff-based blood-pressure monitor.
- Take and enter three cuff measurements within 30 minutes.
- Wear the watch on the same wrist used during calibration, fitted comfortably snug.
Samsung specifies an upper-arm cuff, not a wrist-only monitor, and does not identify one universal cuff brand that works equally for every user. Choose a cuff with the correct size range for your arm and appropriate regulatory clearance in your country.

Prepare properly before calibration
Poor technique can make later watch readings misleading. Before starting:
- Avoid smoking, bathing, exercise, alcohol, and caffeine for at least 30 minutes.
- Sit quietly indoors and rest for at least five minutes.
- Use a chair with your back supported.
- Keep your legs uncrossed and your feet flat on the floor.
- Rest your forearms and hands on a table.
- Make sure your arm and wrist are dry and free of lotion or sweat.
- Keep the watch on the same wrist for all readings.
- Wear the watch snugly, but not excessively tight.
- Remain still, do not talk, and breathe normally while the cuff measures.
Complete the three readings within the required 30-minute window, but do not rush them. Follow the timing and posture prompts in the app.

Recalibrate every 28 days
Samsung requires recalibration every 28 days. Repeat the same three-reading cuff procedure and use the same wrist where possible. The watch may prompt you to recalibrate or stop accepting blood-pressure readings after the calibration period expires, so do not discard the cuff after the initial setup.
Blood pressure is missing: troubleshooting checklist
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Blood pressure is not listed | Confirm the watch is a U.S.-supported Watch4 or newer model, check Wear OS 4.0 or later, and allow for Samsung’s phased rollout. |
| Samsung Health Monitor is unavailable | Confirm that the phone is a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone running Android 12 or later and that the feature is available in your country. |
| The app is not installed on the watch | Open Samsung Health Monitor on the watch first, then follow its phone-installation prompt. Update the watch and relevant Samsung apps. |
| Storage warning appears | Free at least 10 MB of storage on the watch. |
| Calibration is rejected | Use an upper-arm cuff with the correct size, repeat the process after five minutes of rest, support the arm, keep the watch snug, avoid talking or moving, and complete all three readings within 30 minutes. |
| The watch will not measure | Check whether the 28-day calibration period has expired and recalibrate if prompted. |
| Results seem inconsistent | Repeat the measurement after resting, review cuff and watch fit, and compare the result with the cuff used for calibration. |
Use the official app rather than unofficial modified installations or region-unlocking methods. Region spoofing and unofficial APKs can create update, support, privacy, and medical-data problems. If the feature remains unavailable after these checks, Samsung’s Health Monitor compatibility guide is the appropriate next reference.
When a reading looks wrong
A single watch reading should not be treated as a diagnosis. Rest and repeat it, then compare it with a suitable upper-arm cuff. Record several readings rather than interpreting one isolated result. If readings remain concerning, contact a healthcare professional. Seek urgent medical care for severe symptoms or an emergency-level reading instead of relying on the watch.

Samsung Health Monitor estimates blood pressure from the watch’s optical sensor after calibration. It is not an inflatable cuff, a continuous monitor, or a replacement for a validated upper-arm blood-pressure monitor. Samsung says the feature is intended for wellness and monitoring, not to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent disease.
Do not use a Galaxy Watch result alone to diagnose hypertension or change medication or treatment. For the exact current instructions and regional restrictions, consult Samsung’s blood-pressure support page.
