Try this first: Open Galaxy Wearable on the phone paired with your watch, tap Find My Watch, then choose Ring or the equivalent option shown. If the watch is out of Bluetooth range, open Samsung Find or SmartThings Find to check its current or last-reported location. The exact app and controls depend on your watch, phone, software, and region.
Choose the right route
Samsung’s finding tools overlap, and the entry point can vary. Galaxy Wearable is usually the quickest starting point for a watch paired with your phone. Its Find My Watch control may open Samsung Find or SmartThings Find. You can also open either finding service directly, or use its website in a browser.
- Watch probably nearby: Use Galaxy Wearable and try Ring.
- Watch is away from the phone: Use Samsung Find or SmartThings Find to check the map and refresh the location.
- Phone app unavailable: Sign in to the relevant Samsung finding website with the Samsung account associated with the watch.
- Watch may have been stolen: Prioritize your safety and data protection; do not go to a map location to confront anyone.
These instructions are for Samsung Galaxy Watches. Older Gear and Tizen watches, current Wear OS models, and Bluetooth and LTE editions do not necessarily have the same controls.
Ring a Galaxy Watch that is nearby
- Open Galaxy Wearable on the paired phone.
- Tap Find My Watch.
- Tap Start, Ring, or the equivalent control shown on screen.
- Listen and check for vibration as you search likely spots: under cushions, in bedding, in a laundry basket, in a car, in a gym bag, or near the charger.
Depending on the model, the watch may sound, vibrate, or both. Ringing generally needs the watch to be connected to the phone over Bluetooth or to have a usable network connection such as Wi-Fi. If nothing happens, check the map and connection status rather than assuming the watch is where the phone last connected. Find it on a map with SmartThings Find
On Samsung phones, a current route is SmartThings → Life → Find. Then:
- Select the Galaxy Watch from the device list or menu.
- Check the map and any device details shown.
- Tap Refresh to request a newer location report.
- If it appears close by, tap Ring. Some versions may show Search nearby instead.
- Open More to check for options such as Notify when left behind or navigation, if available.

Find it with Samsung Find
Open the Samsung Find app, or reach it through Galaxy Wearable’s Find My Watch control. In Samsung Find, open Devices and select the watch. Review the map and any battery information shown; use Refresh for a newer report or Ring if it is likely close. Open More for controls that may include left-behind notifications or other recovery options.
On some Samsung phones, you can also try Settings → Samsung account name → Samsung Find. The location of this setting depends on the One UI version. Samsung Find and SmartThings Find have overlapping functions, and Samsung may route you between them rather than presenting them as wholly separate tools.

Use a browser if the phone is unavailable
On another phone or computer, open Samsung’s SmartThings Find website or Samsung Find website and sign in with the Samsung account associated with the watch. Select the watch from the device list. Depending on the model and setup, the site may offer a map, ring, location refresh or tracking updates, and controls such as lock, Lost mode, or erase.
A website is not a way around missing setup: the watch must be registered to the account and meet the connection or finding requirements for the controls to work. If one site does not show the watch, try the other and confirm you are signed in to the right account.

What the map can—and cannot—tell you
A dot on the map is not necessarily a live GPS position. It may be the watch’s last reported or last detected location. Tap Refresh, but a new report is possible only when the watch or a supported finding network can provide one.

- Wi-Fi: May let a configured watch communicate without the phone’s Bluetooth connection, if it has network access.
- LTE/mobile data: A compatible LTE watch with active service may be able to report while away from the phone. LTE does not guarantee that it can be found: it still needs power, service, account association, and supported settings.
- Offline Finding: If enabled and supported, nearby participating Samsung devices may detect the watch over Bluetooth and help report an approximate location. The watch is not independently sending a continuous live GPS signal. Availability depends on the model, settings, power, region, and whether participating devices are nearby.
A powered-off watch or one with a depleted battery generally cannot respond to a ring request or send a fresh location. The service may still show an earlier location. Samsung explains connection and offline-finding conditions in its SmartThings Find guidance and SmartThings Find support article.

If your Galaxy Watch does not appear or respond

| The watch is missing from the device list | Confirm that you are signed in to the Samsung account used with the watch. Open Galaxy Wearable and check whether the watch is still listed there. Then check both Samsung Find and SmartThings Find; the route can vary by phone and software. |

If you use a non-Samsung Android phone, do not assume every Samsung finding function is available in the same way. Compatibility and controls depend on the phone and watch. Older Galaxy Watch, Gear, and Active models may use different Galaxy Wearable menus or older SmartThings options; consult the Samsung support page for the exact model if Find My Watch is absent.
If you suspect theft
Use Lock or Lost mode if it is offered for your watch. Consider Erase data only if recovery seems unlikely: erasing may remove information needed for further tracking or management, and you should not assume the watch can continue to be tracked afterward. Available controls vary by model and software. Do not confront a suspected thief or visit a location alone; contact the venue, its security team, or law enforcement as appropriate.
Set up finding before you need it
- In SmartThings Find, confirm the watch appears in your device list and is allowed to be found.
- Where supported, turn on Offline finding. Samsung’s Watch8-era guidance describes the path as More options → Settings → Allow devices to be found, then selecting the watch and enabling Offline Finding if available.
- Enable Notify when left behind if the option is available and useful to you.
- Set a screen lock or PIN on the watch.
- Test the ring function while the watch is connected, so you know where the control is.
- Keep Galaxy Wearable, SmartThings, Samsung Find, and your phone and watch software up to date.
Remote finding is most useful when the watch is paired and associated with the right Samsung account and the relevant remote or offline-finding settings were enabled before it went missing. Setup prompts may also ask for account access, location, or other permissions.
