Yes—the Fitbit Luxe is commercially discontinued. Google’s official device-security table lists June 2026 as the Luxe’s last sale date through Fitbit.com or the Google Store, and the current U.S. Google Store lineup no longer includes it. That does not mean an existing Luxe stops working immediately: owners can generally keep using one while it charges, syncs with the current app, and remains compatible with their phone.
For new buyers, the Fitbit Inspire 3 is the closest current replacement. Choose the Charge 6 for GPS and stronger workout features, Fitbit Air for discreet screenless tracking, or a Pixel Watch if you want a true smartwatch.
What “discontinued” means for the Fitbit Luxe
The Fitbit Luxe is no longer part of Google’s current retail range. Google’s device-security documentation records June 2026 as the Luxe’s last sale date, while the current U.S. Google Store catalog lists products such as the Fitbit Inspire 3, Charge 6, Fitbit Air, Versa 4, Sense 2, and Pixel Watch models—but not the Luxe.

Discontinued also does not automatically mean that:
- the Fitbit or Google Health app has stopped recognizing the device;
- existing Luxe trackers can no longer sync;
- the device is unsafe to wear;
- all replacement bands and chargers are unavailable; or
- every warranty or support right ended on the last-sale date.
Remaining units may still appear through third-party, refurbished, or marketplace sellers. Those products are old stock, however, not current-generation hardware.
Why the Fitbit Luxe was popular
Introduced in 2021, the Luxe was designed as a fashion-oriented wellness tracker rather than a conventional fitness band. Fitbit emphasized its slim, bracelet-like appearance alongside sleep tracking, heart-rate monitoring, stress management, Active Zone Minutes, and other health metrics. Its appeal was less about maximum exercise capability and more about combining basic Fitbit tracking with a relatively jewelry-like design.

The Luxe manual confirms that setup and data viewing depend on the Fitbit mobile app. Some features also depended on Fitbit Premium eligibility, location, and account status.
Will an existing Fitbit Luxe still work?
Probably, provided the hardware and software remain functional. Discontinuation is a retail-status change, not an immediate remote shutdown. An existing Luxe may continue to work while:
- its battery can still hold a charge;
- the current Google Health/Fitbit software supports its data;
- your phone and operating system remain compatible;
- your account can authenticate and sync; and
- Google has not withdrawn a particular feature.
Those are separate issues from security support. A device can continue syncing even when it receives no new features, and security support does not guarantee battery replacement, repairs, or permanent feature parity.
The Fitbit app is becoming Google Health
Google announced in May 2026 that the Fitbit app was becoming the Google Health app and that existing Fitbit users would be upgraded automatically. A Luxe owner may therefore see different branding, menus, or feature organization without the tracker itself having changed.

Google has also indicated that Fitbit content and features may change. Continued syncing should not be interpreted as a promise of new Luxe features or an unchanged app experience.

How long will the Luxe receive support?
Google’s stated policy is that Fitbit devices receive security updates for at least two years after the device was last sold through Fitbit.com or the Google Store. Applying that policy to the documented June 2026 last-sale date gives a reasonable minimum expectation of security support through approximately June 2028.
That June 2028 date is a policy-based projection, not a separately published Luxe end-of-support date. It does not guarantee feature updates, continued compatibility with every future phone, battery service, or hardware repairs.
Should you buy a Fitbit Luxe in 2026?
Only if its design is your overriding priority and the price is clearly lower than current alternatives. The Luxe can still make sense for someone who specifically wants its narrow, jewelry-like appearance, but it is older hardware with a shorter remaining product lifecycle.

- you strongly prefer the Luxe’s appearance;
- the seller is reputable;
- the item is genuinely new or has a clear return policy;
- the total price is meaningfully below a current tracker;
- you accept older hardware and eventual battery aging; and
- the listing clearly explains the charger, band, warranty, and condition.
Avoid it if:
- the price is close to or higher than an Inspire 3 or Charge 6;
- the unit is used or refurbished without battery-health information;
- there is no return window;
- the listing implies that a “Luxe 2” exists without an official source; or
- you expect built-in GPS, contactless payments, navigation, or smartwatch apps.
Do not rely on a seller calling old unopened inventory “new” as evidence that it is current hardware. A Luxe stored for years can still have a degraded lithium-ion battery. Ask how long it currently lasts, whether it charges to 100%, whether the proprietary charger is included, and whether it has suffered water or impact damage. The battery is not user-replaceable, and Google should not be assumed to offer battery replacement for the Luxe.
The best Fitbit Luxe alternatives
Fitbit Inspire 3: best overall replacement
The Fitbit Inspire 3 is the closest practical replacement for most Luxe owners. It is small, focuses on steps, heart rate, sleep, stress, menstrual health, blood oxygen, skin-temperature variation, and related wellness metrics, and offers more than a week of battery life under stated conditions.
Its U.S. Google Store price was listed as $99.95, with a temporary $79.95 promotion shown on August 18, 2026 and ending August 23. Prices and promotions can change.
The compromise is styling. The Inspire 3 has a more utilitarian plastic body, so its appearance depends heavily on the accessory. Google offers options including a stainless-steel mesh band and a clip, which can make it a better visual fit for former Luxe buyers.

Fitbit Charge 6: best upgrade
The Fitbit Charge 6 is a capability upgrade rather than a visual replacement. It adds built-in GPS, Google Maps, Google Wallet, more than 40 exercise modes, and heart-rate broadcasting to select compatible exercise machines. It also offers up to seven days of battery life under Google’s stated conditions.
The U.S. Google Store listed it at $159.95, with a $40-off promotion displayed on August 18, 2026 and ending August 23. The Charge 6 is wider and more fitness-oriented than the Luxe, so it may disappoint buyers whose main reason for choosing the Luxe was its delicate form factor.
Some features, including ECG and certain advanced health functions, depend on country, age, eligibility, and regulatory availability. Some advanced services also require Google Health Premium.
Choose it if: you want GPS, stronger workout tracking, maps, payments, or exercise-machine integration.
Do not choose it if: you primarily want the smallest and most jewelry-like tracker.
Fitbit Air: best screenless alternative
Fitbit Air is the closest current product in spirit for people who want discreet wear, but it is not a direct Luxe replacement. It is screenless, so it cannot show the time, steps, or notifications on your wrist.
The U.S. Google Store listed Fitbit Air from $99.99 on August 18, 2026. It tracks heart rate, steps, Active Zone Minutes, distance, calories, sleep, blood oxygen, heart-rate variability, breathing rate, skin-temperature variation, and resting heart rate. Google positions it around the Google Health app and Google Health Coach, and the product page included three months of Google Health Premium.
Choose it if: you want a newer, low-distraction, screen-free tracker.
Do not choose it if: you want an on-device clock, visible stats, notifications, or a Luxe-like display.
Pixel Watch: best smartwatch alternative
A Pixel Watch is the right direction if the Luxe’s tracker features are less important than notifications, apps, navigation, calls, and broader smartwatch functionality. It is not a direct Luxe replacement: it is larger, has shorter battery expectations than a simple tracker, and Pixel Watch models require Android rather than iPhone.

Choose a Pixel Watch when you want a watch first and a health tracker second. Choose the Inspire 3, Charge 6, or Fitbit Air when you specifically want a lightweight band with longer battery life.

App, compatibility, and health-feature cautions
The Luxe manual describes compatibility with most popular phones, but it does not mean every current iPhone or Android phone is guaranteed to work indefinitely. Check Google’s current compatibility information before buying or replacing a device.
For comparison, the current Charge 6 listing specifies most phones running Android 11 or newer or iOS 16.4 or newer, along with a Google Account and internet access. Pixel Watch products are Android-only. Inspire 3 and other Fitbit trackers remain subject to Google’s current supported-device list.

What to do if a working Luxe will not sync
- Confirm Bluetooth is enabled and the phone is connected to the internet.
- Open the current Google Health/Fitbit app and verify that you are using the account originally paired with the Luxe.
- Charge the tracker and restart both the Luxe and the phone.
- Update the app and phone operating system where compatible.
- Remove and re-add the device only after confirming that you know the account credentials.
- Avoid factory-resetting the Luxe before checking whether recent data has synchronized.
- Contact Google/Fitbit support if the device is still not detected after re-pairing.
Menu names may change as Fitbit functionality moves into Google Health, so older troubleshooting instructions that refer to permanent Fitbit-app labels may no longer match the current interface.
What is Google Health Premium?
Google announced Google Health Premium pricing of $9.99 per month or $99 per year. Premium benefits may include Google Health Coach, adaptive plans, detailed sleep insights, proactive insights, workout content, and mindfulness content. Basic tracking is not the same as every advanced insight or coaching feature.
Trials, promotions, renewal terms, eligibility, pricing, and available features can vary by product, account, country, and date. Check the offer shown at checkout before assuming that a device includes ongoing Premium access.
