The Icon 3 is itel’s low-cost smartwatch and the successor to the Icon 2. It launched in India on March 22, 2024, in Dark Chrome, Midnight Blue and Shiny Gold. Its headline features are a large AMOLED screen, Bluetooth calling, a rotating/function crown, wellness monitoring and a broad selection of watch faces. Is the itel Icon 3 really an Apple Watch Ultra clone?
The comparison works as a description of the exterior: both have a tall rectangular display, rugged styling and a prominent side control. The Icon 3 is reported to have a zinc-alloy frame and a rotating crown/function button. Calling it an “Apple Watch Ultra clone” overstates what is established: the resemblance does not mean shared construction, software, sensors or capabilities.
The Icon 3 is not an Apple Watch and does not run watchOS. Its listed calling feature is Bluetooth calling, which depends on a paired phone; it is not independent cellular service. The available product information does not establish Apple Health integration, ECG, GPS, Apple Watch band compatibility or access to Apple’s App Store. It also does not establish the Icon 3’s companion-app name or phone-version requirements.

For scale, Apple lists the current Apple Watch Ultra 3 in India from ₹80,900. Its official specifications include a 49mm titanium case, a display rated up to 3,000 nits, GPS and cellular options, watchOS, advanced sensors and water resistance to 100 metres. Display: large AMOLED, with important details missing
The 2.01-inch AMOLED panel is the Icon 3’s clearest hardware draw. It is listed at up to 500 nits, and launch coverage reports 2.5D curved glass and an always-on display. Current official and retailer listings advertise 170+ watch faces; the launch report gave 150+, so the higher figure reflects current listings rather than the launch claim.
No dependable specification establishes the panel’s resolution, refresh rate or pixel density, or whether 500 nits is a typical or peak brightness figure. Buyers should not infer sharpness or outdoor readability from screen size and brightness alone.

Bluetooth calls, notifications and phone dependence
The Icon 3 supports Bluetooth calling; a retailer describes its arrangement as single-chip Bluetooth calling, and launch coverage reports Bluetooth 5.1. In practical terms, calls rely on the watch being connected to a phone. This is not LTE or cellular calling, and the available specifications do not establish GPS tracking without a phone or Apple Watch-style emergency calling.

Available listings do not reliably document call-history or contact-sync limits, microphone and speaker quality, notification replies, feature parity between iPhone and Android, or the specific companion app. Confirm phone compatibility with the seller or package documentation before buying, especially if you plan to pair it with an iPhone.

Health and sports features are wellness tools
Reported functions include 24-hour heart-rate monitoring, SpO₂ readings, menstrual-cycle tracking and more than 100 sport modes. These are feature claims, not proof of clinical accuracy or medical suitability. No independent accuracy testing is established in the cited material, so do not use the readings to diagnose or manage a health condition. A high sport-mode count also does not demonstrate precise workout tracking; GPS and advanced training metrics are not verified for this watch.
Battery life: treat the figures as claims
Launch coverage reports a 310mAh battery and itel-claimed endurance of up to seven days in ordinary use, up to two days with Bluetooth calling enabled, and up to 15 days on standby. Usage conditions for those estimates are unspecified, and they are not independent test results. Always-on display use, frequent health measurements, high brightness, notifications and calls can shorten runtime. Charging time and charger type are not reliably documented.
What IP67 means for the Icon 3
The Icon 3 is listed with IP67 protection. That rating is not the same as an endorsement for swimming, diving, snorkelling or exposure to high-pressure water, and it is not equivalent to the Ultra 3’s 100-metre water-resistance positioning and diving-related sensors. Do not treat “IP67” as an absolute waterproof guarantee.

- Someone who prioritises a large AMOLED display and Apple Watch Ultra-inspired styling at a low price.
- An Android user seeking basic notifications, activity features and phone-linked Bluetooth calls rather than an independent smartwatch connection.
- A buyer comfortable checking seller support and accepting uncertainty around app details and long-term software support.
Look elsewhere if you need
- An iPhone experience integrated with Apple Watch and Apple services.
- Reliable standalone GPS, advanced sports analytics or cellular calls without a paired phone.
- Medical-grade health measurements or a watch intended for swimming and diving.
