The March 2026 update for LTE versions of the Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Watch 4 began rolling out on March 31 with build CP1A.260305.014.W4. It arrived after the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi rollout, and it is no longer the newest Pixel Watch software: Verizon’s update history lists a later June release.
Updated August 18, 2026: This is a delayed-rollout update, not the current software version. Verizon lists a June 9, 2026 update, build CP2A.260603.001, with Wear OS 7 and the June security patch. Verizon’s update history has the carrier’s release details.
What took longer for LTE watches?
Google did not release the March update to every Pixel Watch configuration at once. Bluetooth/Wi-Fi models received build CP1A.260305.014.W2 first. Google then staged the LTE release, with timing dependent on the watch and carrier. The LTE build is CP1A.260305.014.W4. Google said the rollout would extend from Bluetooth/Wi-Fi devices to LTE-capable models over time; a delay by itself did not mean a watch was defective or its update process had failed. Google’s announcement identifies the Pixel Watch 2, 3, and 4 LTE models for W4. Do not assume that every watch from a listed generation uses the LTE build; the software channel depends on the configuration. Droid Life reported that Google had ended updates for the original Pixel Watch, but the model is not included in Google’s cited W4 rollout announcement. Check Google’s current support information before treating Watch 1 as eligible or supported.

What the March release adds—and what the carrier notes say
Google’s March Pixel Drop announcement describes platform features, while Verizon’s carrier notice lists its own release details. Those are related records, not interchangeable changelogs: a feature announced for Pixel Watch does not necessarily appear on every model, paired phone, or in every region.
- Express Pay: On Pixel Watch 2 and newer, users can opt in to turn the watch toward a payment reader and pay without first opening Google Wallet. The watch must be unlocked, and the feature is not automatically enabled just because the system update installs.
- Phone-left-behind alerts and automatic locking: With a compatible Pixel phone, the watch can alert you if you leave the phone behind, and the phone can lock after it moves out of range. Google specifies Pixel Watch 2 or newer for these features.
- Faster identity checks: Google describes faster verification in supported situations for connected devices, with availability limited to newer Pixel phones and Pixel Watch 3 or 4.
- Find Hub: Google says users can use Find Hub from the watch to locate nearby devices or view a location and directions for devices outside Bluetooth range. Supported devices and availability may vary.
- One-handed gestures: Google expanded Pixel Watch 4-style gestures to Pixel Watch 3, including actions for calls, camera control, and media playback. The announcement names Watch 3 and Watch 4 for this expansion.
- Safety features: Google announced standalone earthquake alerts for Pixel Watch and expanded Pixel Watch Satellite SOS availability to Canada, Europe, Alaska, and Hawaii. Region, device, activation, and other restrictions apply; these are not universal LTE benefits.
Separately, Verizon’s March 31 release notice lists the W4 build, the March 2026 Android security patch, Fitbit enhancements, stability and performance improvements, and updated motion and speech sensitivity mapping for Raise to talk. It does not provide a complete carrier-specific list of every Google Pixel Drop feature.

How to check for and install the update
- Put the watch on its charger and make sure it has sufficient battery.
- Connect it to Wi-Fi, or, for an LTE watch, use a strong cellular connection. Verizon recommends Wi-Fi or a strong Verizon connection.
- On the watch, open Settings, then System, then System updates, and check for an update. Menu wording can vary by Wear OS version and language.
- If offered, install the update and leave the watch on its charger while it restarts.
After the system update finishes, watch apps may still be downloading or updating. Give them time before assuming that a feature is missing. Feature availability can also depend on your paired phone, device generation, region, and setup—not just the installed watch build.

- Confirm the watch configuration. Check the connected watch in the Pixel Watch app or Fitbit app. A model name alone does not tell you whether it is the LTE or Bluetooth/Wi-Fi configuration.
- Check the installed build. In the watch’s software or system information, compare the build with W4 for LTE (CP1A.260305.014.W4) or W2 for Bluetooth/Wi-Fi (CP1A.260305.014.W2).
- Allow for staged availability. Google said rollout timing could vary by carrier and device. Repeatedly checking the update screen cannot enable an OTA that has not reached your watch’s rollout channel.
- Use Google’s OTA page for reference. Advanced users can compare their model identifier and build with Google’s Pixel Watch OTA listings. Do not install a package unless it is verified for the exact model; this article does not recommend sideloading.
- Contact your carrier if an LTE watch remains stuck. Verizon’s March 31 notice confirms its W4 release, but does not establish the same date for every carrier or country. Carrier support can check availability for your line and device.
Low battery, poor connectivity, or insufficient storage can delay or interrupt an installation. A restart is not a guaranteed way to force an update, and a factory reset can create unnecessary recovery work; reserve it for a last resort if support recommends it. Flashing the wrong package can make a watch unusable.

Why this rollout is not a reason to upgrade by itself
If you already own a Pixel Watch 2, 3, or 4 LTE, the March W4 update was a software release—not a requirement to replace the watch or switch to LTE. The practical difference between LTE and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi is phone-free connectivity when away from the phone, along with carrier compatibility and potentially different rollout timing. Before choosing an LTE watch, check that your carrier supports it and decide whether standalone connectivity matters to you. The March feature list alone does not make every listed model or configuration equivalent.
