Mobvoi announced TimeShow on January 13, 2023, as both a watch-face marketplace and a platform for creating and sharing designs. It was an effort to add a customization and creator layer to Wear OS—not a new smartwatch operating system or a replacement for Wear OS. The service is still represented by a Google Play app listing and a DIY design site, but that listing’s displayed update date is September 5, 2024, so it does not establish that every feature or device claim remains current in 2026.
What Mobvoi announced
TimeShow combined three ideas: a catalog for browsing and downloading ready-made faces, tools for creating or customizing designs, and a way to publish or share them. Mobvoi’s announcement came amid its efforts to expand the software ecosystem around TicWatch. Contemporary coverage positioned the service against established options such as Facer, but that does not mean TimeShow replaced it or became a major ecosystem.
The distinction between customization and full authoring matters. Mobvoi’s app listing describes a DIY design platform, but the available product information does not establish the extent of its professional design controls, export options, scripting, or animation tools. It is safer to view TimeShow as a lower-barrier route to watch-face design than as a documented native development environment.
What users can do with TimeShow
The Google Play listing describes digital and analog styles, dynamic faces, weather, steps and heart-rate displays, switchable colors, complications where supported, and photo or image customization. It also describes synchronization between an Android phone and a Wear OS watch. These capabilities depend on the particular design and watch: a face may not be able to show every sensor metric or complication on every device.

Mobvoi’s listing directs users to its DIY design site at timeshowcool.com. Its general workflow is to install the phone app and the corresponding watch app, connect the devices, choose or create a face, then sync it. If the face does not activate automatically, select it through the watch’s face-selection interface. This is a general description, not a guarantee of the current button labels or interface.
Which watches does TimeShow support?
The Google Play listing names TicWatch, Fossil Gen 6, Google Pixel Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, 5, 6, 7 and Ultra, Xiaomi Watch 2 and Watch 2 Pro, and Suunto 7, alongside Wear OS devices generally. It also mentions Wear OS 5. The same listing displays an update date of September 5, 2024, so these are the devices and software claims shown there—not a freshly verified 2026 compatibility guarantee. How large is the watch-face catalog?
Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro 5 product page advertises more than 10,000 TimeShow faces. That is a manufacturer marketing claim, not an independent catalog audit; it does not establish that every face is available in every country, free, compatible with every watch, or made by an independent creator. The main app is listed as free to install with in-app purchases, but access to faces is not necessarily free. Google Play listings from the TimeShow developer show individual examples priced at $0.99, $1.49, and $1.99. These are observed listing prices, not a universal 2026 price schedule; Google Play prices and availability can vary by country and over time. The app listing and user or developer responses also indicate subscription access and free-trial behavior. No reliable current U.S. subscription price is established here. Before paying, check whether the face or catalog access is a one-time purchase, a trial that renews, or a subscription; access through a subscription should not be assumed to mean permanent ownership.
What happened to the creator revenue-sharing plan?
Contemporary coverage said Mobvoi was working toward revenue sharing so creators could potentially earn from their designs. The coverage did not establish final terms, and current public creator-payment documentation is not verified here. In particular, there is no established payout rate, eligibility rule, payment threshold, geographic coverage, copyright-review process, or confirmation that the program remains active. What to check before installing or paying
- Install both components: The documented sync workflow uses a phone app and a watch app. If the watch component is missing, synchronization may not work.
- Confirm the model and software: A compatible brand name alone does not ensure that a particular watch or feature is supported.
- Check the design’s requirements: A requested complication or sensor metric may not be available, and a layout made for one display shape may not suit another.
- Review permissions: The app listing says camera, photo, and location permissions may be used for avatars, image uploads, and weather. Decide whether those functions justify the permissions on your device.
- Check the price and access terms: Verify whether a face is free, individually paid, or subscription-based, and review trial renewal terms before starting a trial.
- Allow for service dependence: Designs hosted or synchronized through a platform may depend on the service, account, app, and watch software continuing to work together.
Google Play reviews include complaints about slow loading, missing images, subscription confusion, and synchronization. These are individual reports, not verified failure rates, but they indicate issues worth considering. What the announcement means now
TimeShow was Mobvoi’s attempt to build a creator-and-marketplace layer around Wear OS watch faces, rather than merely release another set of pre-made TicWatch designs. The app and DIY site are still represented by the available listings, but those listings do not prove uninterrupted service or verify every launch ambition—especially creator payouts and uniform compatibility across watches.
