OnePlus added an OHealth feature in April 2024 that moves supported health and workout history directly from an old phone to a new one. Both phones need to be available and on the same Wi-Fi network; the feature does not migrate the watch’s full setup, so switching phones may still mean resetting and pairing the OnePlus Watch 2 again.
What changed in OHealth
Before the update, Watch 2 owners who changed phones risked losing locally stored health and fitness history if they had not enabled OHealth cloud synchronization. April 2024 rollout coverage reported a new Profile > Migrate data option in OHealth, allowing a direct phone-to-phone transfer without relying on a prior cloud sync. The feature was associated with OHealth version 4.21.5; that is the version reported at rollout, not a verified current requirement. Android Authority reported the rollout on April 8, 2024, and Android Headlines covered it on April 10, 2024.
The update was an OHealth app feature; contemporary coverage said no separate watch firmware update was needed for these app changes. The same update was also reported to add app controls for automatically opening media controls when phone playback starts, Raise to Wake, and the watch’s auto-screen-off time.
How to move OHealth history to a new phone
- Install or update OHealth on both the old and new phones. The rollout reports associated migration with OHealth 4.21.5, but do not establish which app version is required today.
- Connect both phones to the same Wi-Fi network.
- On the new phone, open OHealth and sign in with the same OHealth account used on the old phone, if you use an account.
- In OHealth on the new phone, open the profile area and choose Migrate data. The new phone should display a QR code.
- Open OHealth on the old phone and scan the QR code displayed on the new phone.
- Keep both phones on the same Wi-Fi network while the transfer runs. Once it finishes, check the new phone for the health and workout history you need before erasing or trading in the old one.
Contemporary reporting says migration could also be done without signing in, but if you are signed in, both phones must use the same account; the reports do not establish support for transferring or merging data between different accounts. The coverage does not document every screen after the QR scan, so button names and progress indicators may differ by app release.

What transfers—and what does not
The reported scope is health, fitness, workout, and health-history data supported by OHealth’s migration tool. No complete field-by-field inventory is documented, so do not assume that every measurement, route, manually entered record, achievement, or third-party integration will be copied. Check important records on the new phone while the old phone is still available.
This is not a full watch backup or a way to move the existing watch configuration intact. The cited rollout coverage said the watch still needed to be reset and paired again when changing phones. Apps, watch faces, settings, notification preferences, payment credentials, and pairing state should not be assumed to transfer with OHealth history.

Local migration or cloud sync?
| Method | Best suited to | What it depends on |
|---|---|---|
| OHealth local migration | A phone change when the old phone is still usable, especially if recent records may not have synced to the cloud. | Both phones, OHealth on each, the same Wi-Fi network, and the same OHealth account on both if signed in. The QR workflow was reported as a direct transfer that does not require cloud synchronization. Android Authority |
| OHealth cloud sync | A recovery route when the old phone is unavailable, if OHealth data had already been synced. | The account and a previously enabled, completed sync. Cloud sync preserves health data, not necessarily the full watch setup. Android Authority |
If both phones are present, local migration can cover history that may not have reached the cloud. If the old phone has been lost, damaged, or wiped, cloud sync may be the only remaining route—and only if the data was synced beforehand.
If migration does not work
- QR migration will not connect: Confirm both phones are on the same Wi-Fi network. As practical troubleshooting, try a standard private network rather than a guest network, and temporarily disable VPN or network-isolation settings that could prevent devices on one Wi-Fi network from communicating. The same-network requirement is reported; these network checks are troubleshooting suggestions, not documented OnePlus requirements.
- The phones use different accounts: If signed in, verify the account on each phone and use the same one. The reports do not establish account merging as an option.
- “Migrate data” is missing: Update OHealth on both phones and check again. Version 4.21.5 was reported with the April 2024 rollout, but the current minimum version and availability by region, phone, or release channel are not established here.
- The old phone is unavailable: The QR process requires both devices. Check whether the history was previously synced through OHealth; without the old phone or an existing cloud copy, the reports do not identify another recovery method.
- Some history seems absent: Compare the records that matter on both phones before wiping the old one. The reported feature does not come with a published inventory guaranteeing transfer of every kind of health record or integration.
- You expected the watch to be ready to use: Health-history migration is separate from moving the watch. Follow the watch’s pairing and reset process for the new phone, then restore settings or apps as needed.
The April 2024 reports do not establish whether behavior varies by country, Android version, OHealth release channel, account type, or phone manufacturer. Check the controls in the OHealth version available to you rather than assuming the rollout works identically everywhere today.
