The OnePlus Watch 3 really did return to sale in the U.S. on April 10, 2025, at a startling $499.99—$170 above its announced $329.99 price. But that was a temporary relaunch price, not the lasting U.S. MSRP: OnePlus later said the price was $349.99 and promised a $150 refund to customers charged $499.99. The current price and stock status still depend on the live listing; the historical $499.99 price should not be treated as today’s price.
Why the Watch 3 disappeared—and came back at a higher price
OnePlus announced the larger Watch 3 for the U.S. and Canada on February 18, 2025, with U.S. open sales planned for February 25. Its announced U.S. price was $329.99, with an early-buyer offer at $299.99. Sales were delayed after buyers spotted “Meda in China” printed on the back instead of “Made in China.” OnePlus paused the launch and corrected the issue before the watch returned to the U.S. store.
On April 10, the watch reappeared on OnePlus’s U.S. store at $499.99. Contemporary reporting documented the jump and connected it to U.S. tariff uncertainty affecting imports from China. OnePlus did not initially publish a detailed explanation or cost breakdown, so tariffs should be understood as reported context or inference—not a confirmed explanation from the company.

On April 28, OnePlus said it had reduced the U.S. price to $349.99 after “recent adjustments in our supply chain,” calling that the final MSRP. That is $20, or about 6.1%, above the originally announced $329.99 price, but $150—30%—below the temporary relaunch price. See OnePlus’s price update and Android Authority’s report.

OnePlus also said customers who bought the watch for $499.99 would receive a $150 refund to their original payment method. That was the company’s stated policy; the available announcement does not establish whether every eligible customer received the refund or specify all timing and eligibility details.
What you get for the $349.99 MSRP
The larger Watch 3 combines Wear OS with a Snapdragon W5 and BES2800 dual-chip architecture. Its headline advantage is endurance: OnePlus claims up to five days in Smart Mode and up to 16 days in Power Saver Mode for this model, based on its specified usage scenarios. Those are manufacturer estimates, not a guarantee of the same result with every combination of GPS, display, calls, and health tracking enabled.
Other notable hardware includes a 1.5-inch LTPO display, sapphire crystal face, titanium-alloy bezel, 631mAh battery, dual-frequency GPS, 5ATM water resistance, IP68 rating, and MIL-STD-810H testing. It also offers a 60-second Health Check-In, Google Play apps, and Google Wallet where available. OnePlus’s product page describes its water-resistance limits, compatibility, and health features. The company says health functions are for general wellness and fitness, not medical diagnosis; water resistance can also be affected by conditions such as hot water, seawater, diving, and wear over time.

The trade-offs matter at this price. The original larger model has no LTE option, comes in a bulky design (about 80g in Wareable’s tested configuration), and uses 22mm bands. It requires an Android 9.0-or-newer phone with Google Mobile Services; iPhones and Android Go devices are unsupported. In its review, Wareable found battery life to be the standout, while noting heart-rate readings could lag or understate exercise peaks and GPS was consistent but not class-leading. Health-tracking results are not a substitute for medical advice.

At $349.99—or less on a genuine sale—the larger Watch 3 is easiest to recommend to Android users who want Wear OS apps and several days between charges. Battery life is its clearest advantage. The value case is weaker if you need cellular service without your phone, a light or compact watch, or leading sports and health measurements. At $499.99, those compromises made the value much harder to defend; that price was not the lasting MSRP.
Compare current sale prices for the Google Pixel Watch 3 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 before buying. Wareable’s comparison found those alternatives more compelling for some features at similar or lower prices, while the OnePlus watch’s main edge was endurance. Samsung-specific health features may make the Galaxy a better fit for Samsung phone owners. For serious training and sports analytics, a Garmin may suit better, though it does not offer the same Wear OS app integration.

OnePlus also sells a separate 43mm Watch 3. Do not assume the larger model’s battery claims apply: OnePlus rates the 43mm version for up to 60 hours in Smart Mode and up to seven days in Power Saver Mode. It takes standard 18mm bands, rather than the larger model’s 22mm bands. Check the 43mm product page for its distinct specifications.
