The OnePlus Watch 3 returned to U.S. retail on April 10, 2025, at $499.99—$170 above its previously announced $329.99 price. That was not the lasting price: on April 28, OnePlus set a final U.S. MSRP of $349.99 and said it would refund the $150 difference to customers who had paid $499.99. The relaunch was a delayed retail release of the same watch, not a new model.
Why the U.S. launch was delayed
OnePlus announced the Watch 3 on February 18, 2025, with U.S. sales expected later that month. The planned February 25 open sale was postponed after the company found a spelling error on the watch’s rear engraving: “Meda in China” instead of “Made in China.” The delay was to correct the affected units; the available reporting describes a delayed launch, not a safety recall. The $499.99 figure was real, but temporary. The $349.99 figure is the final MSRP OnePlus announced—not a guarantee of current retail price, stock, or availability. The company’s price-update announcement is the source for the final MSRP and refund commitment. Check the U.S. product page or retailer listing for a live offer before buying.
Why did the price jump?
OnePlus attributed the April 10 price to “current market conditions.” When it later lowered the MSRP, the company said supply-chain adjustments let it pass savings back to customers. News coverage connected the initial increase to U.S. tariff uncertainty, but OnePlus did not explicitly confirm tariffs as the cause in the cited statements. Treat that connection as reporting or inference, not the company’s stated explanation.

If you paid $499.99
OnePlus said it would return the $150 difference to affected customers’ original payment method and that support would contact them. If you bought directly from OnePlus and never saw the refund:
- Check the original card or payment account and any OnePlus support email.
- Keep your order confirmation and invoice.
- Contact OnePlus support with the order details if the credit is missing.
Do not assume a purchase from a third-party retailer automatically follows OnePlus’s direct-store refund process; check with that seller about its handling.
What the larger Watch 3 offers at $349.99 MSRP
The U.S. model at the center of the relaunch is the larger Watch 3. It runs Wear OS alongside OnePlus’s RTOS-based dual-engine architecture, using a Snapdragon W5 and BES2800 chip. It has 32GB of storage, Google Play and Google Wallet support, and dual-band L1+L5 GPS. The 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display has a 466 × 466 resolution and a claimed peak brightness of 2,200 nits; the cover is sapphire crystal, with a titanium bezel and stainless-steel case. OnePlus lists more than 100 sports modes, including 11 professional modes, and IP68, 5ATM and MIL-STD-810H testing claims. OnePlus rates the larger model for up to five days in Smart Mode, up to three days under its heavy-use estimate, and up to 16 days in Power Saver Mode. Those are manufacturer figures under specified conditions, not a promise for every wearer. Always-on display, GPS workouts, calls, apps, frequent notifications and health monitoring can shorten runtime.

Wellness tracking is not medical diagnosis
The Watch 3 offers a 60-second Health Check-In, heart-rate and blood-oxygen tracking, wrist-temperature sensing, sleep monitoring, a snoring-risk assessment, and vascular-health insights. Its “360 Mind and Body” analysis draws on measures such as heart-rate variability, resting heart rate and activity. OnePlus says the watch is for general wellness and fitness, not a medical device; its vascular-health results are not intended to diagnose, treat or manage a condition. Do not rely on it to diagnose heart disease, sleep apnea or another illness.
OnePlus says standalone health tracking is possible, but health data displayed directly on the watch is limited: stored data will no longer remain displayed there after seven days. Historical data is available through the OHealth phone app, which OnePlus directs users to download from Google Play. Its product page sets out the health-use limitations.

This is an Android-focused smartwatch, not an Apple Watch alternative. OnePlus describes the larger Watch 3 as working with select Bluetooth devices and says the best experience is with OnePlus phones. Some phone-specific controls require a compatible OnePlus or Oppo device. Google Assistant features may need a phone, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection. The U.S. model’s listed features do not establish LTE/eSIM independence, so do not buy it expecting to leave your phone behind for calls and messages.
Phone and regional requirements can vary by model and service. The U.S. 43mm product listing, for example, specifies Android 9.0 or later with Google Mobile Services and says iPhones and Android Go devices are unsupported. Confirm the requirements for the exact model and region before purchase.

Water resistance also has limits: IP68 and 5ATM do not mean the watch is suitable for deep diving, hot showers, saunas or hot springs. OnePlus advises against those uses; after seawater exposure, clean and dry the watch.
Is the 43mm Watch 3 the same watch?
It is a smaller variant in the product family, not an identical-sized version with the same battery claims. OnePlus lists a 43mm case, 37.8g weight, up to 60 hours in Smart Mode and up to seven days in Power Saver Mode for the U.S. 43mm model. It has Wear OS, Google Wallet and Google Play support. Reporting says it lacks the larger model’s 60-second Health Check-In because it does not have the temperature sensor and vascular-health tracking functionality used for that feature; check the exact configuration if those functions matter. Who should consider it?
The larger Watch 3 makes the most sense for an Android user who wants Wear OS apps, strong battery-life claims, dual-frequency GPS and a substantial watch, and who does not need confirmed cellular independence or medical diagnostics. It is particularly natural for a OnePlus owner, though ecosystem-specific functions may depend on the phone.
Look elsewhere if you use an iPhone, need LTE/eSIM for phone-free use, require medical-grade monitoring, or find a large watch uncomfortable. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch and Google’s Pixel Watch are Android alternatives worth comparing for ecosystem and connectivity needs; an Apple Watch is for iPhone users, while Garmin is a better direction for training-focused buyers who prioritize sports tools over Wear OS apps. Compare current models and prices directly, since they vary.
