Oura Ring 4 Ceramic launched on October 1, 2025—not in August 2026. It is primarily a material and styling variation of the Oura Ring 4, with a zirconia-ceramic exterior, titanium interior, and four original colors. The separate Health Panels feature brought blood-test information into the Oura app, but it is not an exclusive sensor capability of the ceramic ring.
In 2026, the buying decision is less about a new launch and more about availability, price, cosmetic durability, and whether you prefer Ceramic’s appearance over standard Oura Ring 4 or the newer Oura Ring 5.
What launched on October 1, 2025?
Oura announced several related products and services together:

These were coordinated announcements, not one bundled hardware upgrade. Ceramic is a ring finish and construction option; Health Panels is a separate software and testing service.

Oura’s launch announcement described Ceramic as an Oura Ring 4-based product using the company’s Smart Sensing platform. It should not be treated as a new sensor generation or as a replacement for Oura Ring 5.
Colors: four at launch, fewer currently listed
The launch colors were:
- Tide
- Petal
- Cloud
- Midnight
However, Oura’s current finish-support page lists only Cloud and Midnight for Oura Ring 4 Ceramic. That does not necessarily prove Tide and Petal were formally discontinued; inventory, country, retailer, and size availability can differ. Treat the four-color list as the original launch lineup, not a guarantee of current orderability.

The central distinction is straightforward: Ceramic changes the ring’s exterior, not the underlying health-tracking platform. The available evidence does not establish that it is more accurate or provides better health data than standard Oura Ring 4.

Oura says the ceramic color comes from minerals inherent in the material rather than a conventional painted or coated finish. That may give the ring a distinctive appearance, but it is not a promise that the surface cannot change or be damaged.
Oura also warns that normal wear can cause scratches and scuffs. Its guidance recommends removing the ring during activities involving friction or contact with metal, ceramics, or stone. Practical precautions include:

- Wear it on the non-dominant hand.
- Avoid placing another ring directly beside it.
- Remove it for weightlifting and work involving tools, cookware, gym equipment, stone, or other hard surfaces.
- Do not interpret “ceramic” or “scratch-resistant” as “scratch-proof.”

Oura Ring 4 Ceramic specifications
According to Oura’s product page, the manufacturer’s stated specifications include:

- Charging: typically 20 to 80 minutes, depending on the battery level.
- Water resistance: up to 100 meters or 328 feet.
- Weight: approximately 5.1 to 8.1 grams, depending on ring size.
- Width: 7.9 mm.
- Thickness: 3.51 mm.
- Connectivity: Bluetooth Low Energy, with iOS and Android compatibility.
- Software: automatic firmware updates through the Oura app and integration with more than 40 apps.
These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. Battery life varies with settings, use, ring size, software, and other conditions.
What is Health Panels?
Health Panels brings laboratory blood-test information into the Oura ecosystem. At launch, Oura said eligible members could schedule testing through the app and view results covering approximately 50 biomarkers, including measures related to cardiovascular and metabolic health.
Oura also said its Advisor could use this information to provide personalized nutrition and activity recommendations. That makes Health Panels a way to combine lab results with wearable data and trends. It does not make the ring a diagnostic device or replace a clinician.

Health Panels should also be distinguished from Lab Uploads. Oura’s software updates describe Lab Uploads as the ability to upload existing laboratory results, such as a PDF from another provider. Uploading a prior result is different from ordering a new Oura-arranged test.
Availability and cost caveats
The launch rollout was U.S.-focused and associated with Quest Diagnostics. Secondary coverage reported access through roughly 2,000 Quest locations and a $99 price signal, but those figures should be confirmed against Oura’s current checkout and support information before purchase.
Availability can depend on:
- Country and state
- Active Oura Membership requirements
- Supported ring generation and account
- Local laboratory network
- Whether testing is ordered through Oura or results are uploaded
- Lab processing time
- Insurance, HSA, or FSA rules
- Whether clinician consultation is included
Do not assume Health Panels is included with the Ceramic purchase or available in every market. It is a separate Oura service experience, and the ring’s ceramic exterior does not unlock a unique blood-testing sensor.

Oura’s current product page has shown Cloud and Midnight at $399 against a crossed-out $499 price. That appears to be a current promotional or regional price signal, not a permanent worldwide price guarantee; verify the price at checkout.
The total cost may also include:
- Oura Membership
- Optional Health Panels testing
- Charging accessories
- Replacement costs if a particular ceramic color or size becomes hard to find
Because Oura Ring 5 is now part of Oura’s lineup, compare the live price and generation before buying. The available evidence does not establish a formal discontinuation date for Ring 4 Ceramic, so its changing availability should be described as constrained or variable rather than officially discontinued.

How it fits beside Oura Ring 5
Oura Ring 4 Ceramic remains a current-style choice for someone who specifically wants its material and colors, but it is not the newest Oura hardware generation. Ring 5 is the more natural option for buyers prioritizing current hardware and long-term platform support.
Choose Ceramic when the finish is the main reason you want the ring and the price is attractive. Choose Ring 5 when the price difference is small, you want the current flagship generation, or you are buying primarily for longevity rather than appearance. The supplied evidence does not confirm that Ring 5 offers ceramic finishes, so check Oura’s current product and finish pages before assuming a newer-generation ceramic model exists.
Who should buy Oura Ring 4 Ceramic?
- Buyers who strongly prefer the ceramic look or a limited launch color.
- Existing Oura members who want a second ring and can use multi-ring support.
- Shoppers finding Ceramic near the price of standard Ring 4.

Fit and sizing
Do not assume a previous Oura size transfers perfectly to Ceramic or to another Oura generation. Use Oura’s current sizing process for the exact product you intend to buy and check the relevant Ring 4 support documentation before ordering.

Oura Ring 4 Ceramic is best understood as a premium material and color variant of Oura Ring 4. Its zirconia-ceramic exterior may appeal to buyers who want a more distinctive ring, but it does not provide evidence of superior health tracking. Health Panels was the more consequential service announcement, yet it remains separate from the ceramic hardware and subject to location, eligibility, membership, and pricing limits.
In 2026, buy Ceramic for its design—especially if Cloud or Midnight is available at a worthwhile price—not because it is a new sensor platform. If current-generation hardware matters more than the finish, compare it directly with Oura Ring 5 before checking out.
