Oura’s app redesign, announced on November 5, 2025, reorganized the experience around three areas: Today, Vitals, and My Health. The update was designed to make daily insights easier to prioritize while giving longer-term trends, habits, and Oura Advisor more room. It rolled out to Oura Members over the following week.
This was primarily a navigation and interpretation overhaul—not a ring-sensor upgrade. By September 2026, the redesign is an established part of Oura’s app rather than its newest software announcement.
The quick version
- Today is the daily dashboard, emphasizing the most relevant score, insight, or unusual metric.
- Vitals provides a quick view of sleep, stress, cardiovascular trends, and changes against personal baselines.
- My Health focuses on longer-term strengths, trends, opportunities, and behavior patterns.
- Habits and Routines connects recurring behaviors with measurable health data.
- Oura Advisor can use more context, including sleep, activity, Meals, Habits, and Routines, when answering questions or helping plan toward a goal.
Oura describes the redesign in its November 5, 2025 announcement as an effort to connect daily decisions with longer-term health patterns.

What changed from the old layout?
Previously, Oura’s main experience was organized around five familiar areas: Home, Readiness, Sleep, Activity, and Resilience. The redesign consolidated that structure into three broader sections: Today, Vitals, and My Health.
#1 Best Overall
- THE WORLD’S SMALLEST SMART RING - 40% smaller than the previous generation, Oura Ring 5 is thinner, lighter and smaller than ever. The updated all-titanium design is more scratch-resistant and comfortable than ever
- SIZING IS ESSENTIAL - Oura Ring 5 uses unique sizing different from standard jewelry rings and other Oura Ring generations; use the Oura Ring 5 Sizing Kit to find your perfect fit before purchasing
- EVERYDAY HEALTH SENSING - Oura tracks over 50 health metrics, including sleep, activity, stress, heart health, metabolic health and women’s health metrics. Oura seamlessly integrates with over 40 apps including Natural Cycles, Strava, & more
- OURA MEMBERSHIP - First month of membership is included with purchase, for new members only. Subscription is 5.99/mo afterwards. Membership is tied to your account via the Oura App, not your physical ring
- REBUILT FOR GREATER ACCURACY - Oura Ring 5 has been re-engineered and reconfigured, providing more precise personal health data. Larger, smarter sensors bring research-grade accuracy—all in Oura’s smallest form factor yet
That does not necessarily mean the underlying scores or data disappeared. Instead, Oura reorganized how users reach them. Existing members may need to open detail cards inside the new sections rather than tapping a dedicated top-level tab for every score.
The change is important because it shifts the app away from treating sleep, readiness, activity, and resilience as isolated destinations. Oura is attempting to show how those signals fit together—and which one deserves attention at a particular moment.
Today: a less cluttered daily dashboard
The redesigned Today tab is built around a “one big thing” idea. Rather than presenting every available metric with equal visual weight, it is intended to foreground the score, insight, or change Oura considers most relevant that day.
Today may include a quick readiness snapshot, an unusual metric, or a daily recommendation based on the information available to the account. The aim is to give users a useful starting point without requiring them to inspect multiple score screens every morning.
There is a trade-off: the app is making an editorial decision on the user’s behalf. People who prefer to manually scan every score may find the simplified hierarchy less direct, at least until they learn where individual details now live. “One big thing” is a design philosophy, not a new health metric or a guarantee that Oura has identified the objectively most important issue.
Vitals: core signals against your own baseline
Vitals is the quick-glance health overview. Oura positions it around areas such as:
Rank #2

- Changes relative to a user’s personalized baseline
Color cues are intended to make the user’s current biometric state easier to understand at a glance. However, these colors should not be read as universal medical thresholds, diagnostic categories, or clinical alerts. A “good” or “concerning” visual state is interpreted in the context of an individual’s own recorded patterns, not a doctor’s assessment.
This personal-baseline approach can make trends more meaningful than comparing every user with the same fixed benchmark. It can also make the interface harder to interpret if a user has limited historical data, irregular measurements, or a baseline that does not reflect a current medical condition.
My Health is the biggest functional shift
My Health is the long-view layer of the redesign. It is intended to show health strengths, important trends, and areas where a user may have an opportunity to improve.
This is where the refresh becomes more than a cosmetic facelift. Daily scores can tell you how last night or yesterday looked. My Health is aimed at a different question: What has been happening over weeks and months, and are my recurring choices associated with a sustained change?
The section also introduces or brings greater emphasis to Habits and Routines. Users can track recurring behaviors—such as workouts, earlier bedtimes, or other routines—and examine how they relate to recorded health metrics. The feature is not proof that one habit caused a particular result. It is a way to organize personal observations and look for patterns in the data.

Oura Advisor gets more context
The redesign also expanded the information available to Oura Advisor, Oura’s AI-based interpretation and coaching layer. According to Oura, Advisor can use a broader mix of information, including:
- Sleep trends
- Changes in activity
- Meals data
- Habits and Routines
- Progress toward a health goal
That broader context matters because a question about poor sleep may involve more than sleep data alone. Activity changes, meal patterns, and recurring routines can provide additional context for an answer or a suggested plan.
Advisor should still be treated as an informational tool, not a clinician. Its responses are generated from the data available to Oura and may be incomplete, overly broad, or wrong. Ask narrower questions, inspect the underlying graphs, and use judgment before acting on a recommendation. Do not change medication, treatment, or a major exercise plan solely because of an AI response. Symptoms and medical decisions belong with a qualified healthcare professional.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Meals was not created by this redesign
Meals is Oura’s feature for photographing food and receiving estimated information about nutritional components and balance. Oura has described its relationship to metabolic-health features and Advisor in its Meals and metabolic-health overview.
The November 2025 refresh did not introduce Meals from scratch. Its significance here is that Meals data became part of the broader context Advisor could consider. Photo-based food analysis is inherently approximate; it should be used to identify patterns, not treated as a laboratory measurement or a substitute for clinical dietary assessment.
What the refresh did not change
- It did not automatically improve sensor accuracy. Oura described an app organization and interpretation update, not a validated hardware or measurement-accuracy upgrade.
- It did not replace the ring with a new sensor. The ring remains the wearable collecting the underlying measurements.
- It did not make Meals entirely new. Meals was already an Oura feature.
- It did not make Advisor medical software. More data context can make responses more relevant without making them clinically reliable.
- It did not guarantee identical availability for everyone. Features may vary by device generation, country, language, account, and membership status.
Who received the redesign?
Oura said the redesign would roll out to Oura Members over the week following November 5, 2025. The announcement did not establish one universal app version number or a precisely simultaneous release for every operating system and country.

If the interface is missing, update Oura through the official Apple App Store or Google Play, then confirm that you are signed into the correct Oura account. Close and reopen the app after updating, and check that the ring is syncing normally.
Some features introduced later have their own restrictions. For example, Oura said that Live Activity Tracking began rolling out on June 4, 2026, to global members with Gen3 and newer rings. Lab-result uploads began rolling out on June 30, 2026. Those later requirements should not be treated as universal requirements for the November 2025 navigation redesign.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. If the new interface appears but a feature seems missing
First inspect all three top-level areas—Today, Vitals, and My Health—and open the relevant detail cards. The redesign changes access paths, so a familiar metric may no longer have its own prominent tab.
If it still does not appear, possible explanations include an outdated app, a phased account rollout, membership status, regional or language availability, or compatibility with the ring generation. Restarting the phone may help after an update, but reinstalling should not be the automatic first step when health data and account synchronization are involved.
Is the refresh worth caring about?
For existing Oura users
It is worth exploring if the previous layout felt fragmented or if you found yourself checking separate scores without understanding the bigger pattern. The main adjustment is learning where familiar information now lives.
For habit-focused users
My Health and Habits and Routines are the most relevant additions. They aim to make Oura more useful for reviewing behavior over time rather than simply reacting to a single morning score.

For metric power users
The new structure may initially feel slower because individual Sleep, Readiness, Activity, or Resilience destinations are no longer the primary navigation model. The benefit is a more unified view; the cost is less immediate access to every score.
For privacy-sensitive users
Expanded Advisor context is a reason to examine your comfort level with sharing and combining sleep, activity, food, and routine data. The feature becomes more useful as the data picture becomes more personal, which also makes privacy and trust more important.
For prospective buyers
The redesign strengthens Oura’s software proposition, but the app is only one part of the product. Consider whether you want sleep and recovery tracking, a screen-free wearable, AI-assisted interpretation, and an ongoing membership. Buyers who want notifications, on-wrist workouts, and broader smartwatch functions may be better served by a device such as an Apple Watch. Samsung Galaxy Ring, Ultrahuman Ring, and RingConn are other comparison candidates, but compatibility, features, regional availability, and subscription terms should be checked directly before buying.
Do not assume a newer ring is required for the redesign unless Oura publishes a specific compatibility requirement. Likewise, current hardware and membership prices can change by market and were not established in the supplied evidence.
How it fits into Oura’s later software roadmap
By 2026, Oura had announced further app features including Health Radar, Live Activity Tracking, lab-result uploads, data-deletion controls, and Locate. Oura’s 2026 software update announcement makes clear that the November 2025 redesign is now part of a broader software evolution, not the latest standalone Oura app news.
That context makes the original refresh easier to assess: its lasting contribution is the underlying information architecture. Today handles immediate priorities, Vitals summarizes core signals, and My Health is intended to turn scattered measurements into longer-term context.
