Pebble’s revived watches come with a small magnetic charging dongle that accepts a standard USB-C cable. It’s a useful way to avoid another permanently attached charging lead, but USB-C is on the dongle—not on the watch. The watches still charge through magnetic contacts.
What is Pebble’s USB-C charger?
It is a compact adapter with a USB-C socket at one end and Pebble’s magnetic charging contacts at the other. Attach it to the watch, then connect your own USB-C cable. Pebble sells the dongle separately for $15; it is an adapter, not a full-length cable, dock or stand. Pebble’s product listing describes it as compatible with all Pebble smartwatches.
The distinction is worth spelling out: the watch has no USB-C port, and charging is not wireless. USB-C is simply the replaceable cable connection on the detachable magnetic charger.

Why use a dongle instead of a fixed cable?
The useful idea is cable flexibility, not faster charging. You can use a USB-C cable you already own, pack the adapter alongside other USB-C devices, or replace a damaged cable without replacing the charging connector. A spare dongle could also live in a travel bag or at work.

The trade-off is its size: the little adapter is easy to misplace. And while Pebble calls it compatible with all Pebble smartwatches, older models and replacement accessories should still be matched carefully. Two-pin magnetic charging appears to preserve broad compatibility, but independent reporting does not establish a guarantee for every vintage model. Which watches are in the reboot?
The first 2025 announcement used the names Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2. They are now sold as Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble Time 2. Core Devices, led by original Pebble creator Eric Migicovsky, is behind the reboot; the later Pebble Round 2 adds a round-screen option. How the current models differ
Prices and availability below reflect the official store on August 18, 2026; stock and shipping dates can change. All three are listed with the Standard Pebble charger. The Round 2 preorder includes a charger, according to Pebble’s July 2026 update.

These specifications and store statuses come from Pebble’s current watch page. Battery figures are company estimates, not guaranteed runtimes. In one independent review, the Time 2 lasted roughly three weeks under the reviewer’s use; results vary with settings and usage. Stuff’s review also notes that the longer official estimate may depend on software optimization.

Is the charger included?
The new watches are generally supplied with their charging accessory: a hands-on Time 2 review describes a magnetic USB-C adapter in the box, and Pebble says each Round 2 preorder includes a charger. A few buyers have reported receiving a watch without the small dongle, but those are individual accounts, not evidence of a standard packaging problem; contact Pebble support if yours is missing. What to know about charging in practice
Magnetic connection and cable movement
The dongle attaches magnetically, so a charging setup that stays still is preferable. In its Time 2 review, Stuff found the magnet adequate but not especially strong; movement could knock the adapter loose. Some owners have also reported that cable weight or tension pulls it away. These are reviewer and user experiences, not proof that every unit has a defect. A light, flexible cable and a stable surface may help keep the connection undisturbed. If charging is inconsistent
Some owners report that particular USB-C-to-USB-C cables or USB Power Delivery sources do not charge reliably, while simpler USB-A-to-USB-C setups work better. These are community troubleshooting reports, not an official electrical requirement; they do not establish that USB-C-to-USB-C charging always fails.
- Check that the magnetic contacts are aligned and clean.
- Try a different USB-C cable and then a different power source.
- If a USB-C-to-USB-C setup does not work, try a USB-A-to-USB-C cable with a conventional USB-A charger.
- Test a basic 5-volt USB source rather than a high-wattage USB-PD charger.
- If the watch is fully depleted, leave it connected for a reasonable period before deciding it has failed. Do not open the watch as a first-line fix; contact Pebble support and submit a bug report if charging remains unreliable.
These suggestions reflect user reports, including a community charging tip, rather than published Pebble support instructions.

How it compares with older Pebble chargers
The new design makes it easier to use a cable you already own and replace that cable separately. Some owners, however, prefer an older integrated-cable charger because a lighter, fixed lead can feel more stable against the watch. Existing Time-series chargers may work with some newer watches, according to review and user reports, but verify compatibility for your exact model rather than assuming every old charger fits. The new dongle is more convenient for some setups, not automatically better in every one.
Who is the reboot—and this charger—for?
Pebble’s appeal remains its e-paper display, physical buttons, long advertised battery life and PebbleOS customisation. The USB-C dongle fits people who already carry USB-C cables, travel with several devices or prefer replaceable leads. It may frustrate anyone who wants a stable charging cradle, often charges a watch while moving it, or does not want to troubleshoot cable and power-source combinations. People who frequently lose small adapters should factor that in, too.
These are not direct substitutes for Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch or Garmin devices if your priority is a broad suite of apps, advanced sports features or a conventional smartwatch experience. Pebble’s store warns that third-party watches face limitations on iOS, including the inability to reply to notifications. Check the official model details against the phone features you rely on before ordering.
