Matte Black with the Obsidian band is the best all-around Pixel Watch 4 colorway: it is understated, easy to pair with other bands, and available in both sizes. For a more distinctive look, choose Satin Moonstone in 45mm; for a warm, dressier 41mm watch, consider Champagne Gold. The pre-launch renders are now history: Google’s retail listings confirm the colors, but availability depends on case size.
Pixel Watch 4 colors at a glance
Google lists four aluminum case finishes across five case-and-band combinations. The case finish is the lasting visual choice; the included Active Band can be replaced.
| Colorway | Case appearance | 41mm | 45mm | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Matte Black / Obsidian | Matte black | Yes | Yes | A discreet, versatile everyday watch |
| Polished Silver / Porcelain | Bright, polished silver | Yes | Yes | Classic, jewelry-like styling |
| Champagne Gold / Lemongrass | Warm pale gold | Yes | No | A fashion-forward 41mm option |
| Satin Moonstone / Moonstone | Muted gray-blue/silver | No | Yes | A distinctive 45mm option |
| Polished Silver / Iris | Polished silver with a purple-toned band | Yes | No | A colorful 41mm accent |
These are U.S. Google Store listings; availability and configurations can vary by market. Google’s Pixel Watch 4 configurator and its size comparison show which colors are offered in each size.
Size comes before color
Two finishes are size-exclusive: Champagne Gold/Lemongrass and Polished Silver/Iris are 41mm options, while Moonstone is available only in 45mm. Matte Black/Obsidian and Polished Silver/Porcelain are offered in both sizes. If your preferred case finish is exclusive to the other size, decide whether that finish is worth changing your fit choice for.

- See it all and do the most with the Actua 360 domed display; it’s 10% larger and 50% brighter than Pixel Watch 3, and as durable as ever with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass[1]
- The Google Pixel Watch 4 has Gemini built in[4]; just ask questions and your ultra capable AI assistant will deliver quick responses for personalized help; and stay connected when you’re texting with AI-powered quick replies that are hyper-relevant[5,6]
- Get up to 30 hours of battery life or up to 48 hours in Battery Saver mode[3]; plus, the new side charging dock gives you 15 hours of battery in 15 minutes or less[7]
- Train smarter with 40+ exercise modes and real-time stats on your wrist[8]; and with high-precision dual-frequency GPS, you get more accurate route tracking on runs and hikes[1]
Google gives approximate wrist-circumference ranges of 130–210mm for the 41mm watch and 150–215mm for the 45mm. The 41mm case weighs 31.0g without its band; the 45mm weighs 36.7g. There is overlap in the fit ranges, so measure your wrist and consider the proportions you prefer rather than treating size as a color decision alone. Size also affects more than appearance: Google rates always-on-display battery life at up to 30 hours for 41mm and up to 40 hours for 45mm. Those are company estimates, not a guarantee of your everyday runtime. Google’s specifications page has the full details.
How each Pixel Watch 4 color looks
Matte Black / Obsidian: best all-around
Black is the least limiting pick if you want one watch for workouts, work, and everyday wear. It is visually quiet, works with many band colors, and is offered in both case sizes. When the display is off, the dark face and case can read as a more continuous surface.
Its trade-off is that it is the least distinctive finish. A matte surface may show dust, skin oils, or light scuffs differently from a polished case, but there is no evidence here that one finish is objectively more durable than another. Choose black for its understated look and flexibility, not for an unsupported durability promise.

Polished Silver / Porcelain: best classic look
Polished Silver gives the watch a conventional bright-metal appearance, and the Porcelain band keeps the combination light and clean. It suits buyers who want a more jewelry-like look or expect to pair the watch with leather, metal, or colored replacement bands. This silver-and-Porcelain combination is available in both sizes.
The bright case is more conspicuous than matte black, and a light band can make exercise grime more visible. Google also offers a silver case with Iris, but that bundled-band combination is restricted to 41mm.
Champagne Gold / Lemongrass: best warm 41mm style
Champagne Gold is the warmest, most decorative case finish. It is a natural match for gold-toned jewelry and gives the 41mm watch an accessory-like feel. The catch is availability: Google lists it only in 41mm, paired with a Lemongrass band. If you like the case but not the yellow-green band, you can replace the band; the gold-colored case is the part you are committing to.

- Detects loss of pulse, then calls for help: Pixel Watch 5 is the only smartwatch to feature Loss of Pulse Detection, which can prompt a call to emergency services[10]
Satin Moonstone / Moonstone: best distinctive 45mm choice
Moonstone is a muted gray-blue/silver shade that feels less conventional than black or polished silver without being especially loud. It is the most distinctive case option for shoppers choosing the 45mm watch, but it is not offered in 41mm. Its appearance can shift with lighting and the display used to view product images, so treat render and screen impressions as a guide rather than a precise preview of the physical finish.
Polished Silver / Iris: best colorful 41mm option
If you want a polished case with a more expressive band, Iris pairs silver with a purple-toned accent. It is a 41mm-only combination. The band is replaceable, so this is most compelling if you like the silver case and either enjoy Iris or already expect to use another band.

The early renders showed a broad palette before launch, but they were unofficial images. Pixel Watch 4 launched on August 20, 2025, and became available in the U.S. on October 9, 2025; Google’s store is the better reference for the final retail combinations. Renders and product photos can suggest a color, but lighting, image processing, and screen settings can change how gold, Moonstone, and Lemongrass appear. Google’s launch announcement provides the launch context; the final color-and-size listings are on the Google Store page.

Think of the purchase in this order:
- Pick the case size that fits. Check wrist circumference and preferred proportions before settling on a color.
- Choose the case finish. This is the permanent color choice. Black and silver give you the broadest size flexibility.
- Treat the included band as a starting point. Google sells replacement styles including Active Sport, Performance Loop, woven, leather, and metal. Confirm the exact band’s compatibility before buying.
For fitness, the case color does not change the watch’s published display, battery, GPS, health, or connectivity specifications. Google lists a 320-ppi AMOLED LTPO display with up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. The practical color choice is about appearance: Obsidian is a sensible pick if you want a dark band, while silver can transition readily between exercise and dressier settings. For regular workouts, choosing a suitable sport band matters more than the launch colorway.

Before checkout, confirm the size, wrist fit, case finish, included band, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth or LTE configuration.
