The Redmi Watch 6 did launch in China on October 23, 2025, after Redmi teased its display, design and color options. It is no longer an upcoming watch: Xiaomi later listed it in additional markets, including Japan from May 14, 2026. The headline’s October 23 date therefore refers specifically to the China launch.
The finished watch features a 2.07-inch AMOLED display, built-in GNSS, Bluetooth calling, 5ATM water resistance and a 550 mAh battery. Xiaomi claims up to 24 days of battery life, but that figure applies to light use; its normal-use estimate is 12 days.
What Redmi originally teased
Redmi’s pre-launch announcement confirmed a 2.07-inch AMOLED display, approximately 2 mm symmetrical bezels, an aluminum-alloy middle frame and a slim, unibody-style design. Redmi also announced three colorways and confirmed that the watch would debut in China on October 23, 2025, alongside the Redmi K90 Pro Max and the wider Redmi K90 series.
Those details came from pre-launch teasers. The formal China launch later established the final price and broader specification set. The distinction matters because teased information did not, by itself, confirm every feature or regional configuration.

Redmi Watch 6 colors
The China launch coverage referred to the finishes as:
- Misty Blue
- Elegant Black
- Moonlight Silver
Color names are not completely uniform across Xiaomi’s regional pages. The global NFC specification page lists Obsidian Black and Silver Gray, while the Japan release lists Obsidian Black, Silver Gray and Glacier Blue. These may be regional names or market-specific finishes, so buyers should check the exact listing for their country rather than assume every market receives the same color selection.

Display and design: what the numbers mean
The 2.07-inch square panel gives the Redmi Watch 6 substantially more room than a narrow fitness band. That makes notifications, workout data and watch faces easier to read while retaining a relatively compact watch shape.
The 60 Hz refresh rate should make scrolling and animations appear smoother than on many basic budget wearables. The advertised 2,000-nit figure is a peak brightness claim, not a promise that the entire display will remain at 2,000 nits continuously. Xiaomi separately lists up to 1,500 nits in high-brightness mode for the global NFC model. Those figures describe different operating conditions and should not be treated as identical.
The 2 mm bezel claim describes the physical display design. It does not necessarily mean there will be no visible black border in every viewing situation.

China launch coverage also identifies full-color Always-On Display support, dual-button controls, quick-release straps and features including music playback, voice recording, weather, calendar synchronization and remote camera control. Availability of these functions can vary by regional model, software and connected phone.

Xiaomi rates the 550 mAh battery for:
- Up to 24 days with light use.
- Up to 12 days with normal use.
- Up to 7 days with heavy use, including Always-On Display.
The practical headline is therefore not simply “24-day battery life.” Xiaomi’s own normal-use estimate is half that figure, and heavy use reduces it further. The company says actual endurance varies with software, settings, environment and individual habits.
Battery life can fall faster with frequent GNSS workouts, Bluetooth calls, music playback, continuous health monitoring, repeated screen interaction, frequent notifications, poor Bluetooth or satellite conditions, and very hot or cold temperatures. These are usage considerations rather than independent test results.
Health, fitness and GPS features
The watch supports heart-rate and blood-oxygen measurements, sleep tracking, stress monitoring and women’s health management. It offers more than 150 sports modes, with automatic recognition for selected activities. Built-in positioning uses GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou and QZSS, allowing outdoor workouts to be recorded without relying solely on the phone.
The 5ATM rating is intended for pool swimming, shallow-water swimming and similar shallow activities. It is not a diving rating. Xiaomi also warns against hot showers, saunas, high-speed water streams and other high-pressure exposure; water resistance can deteriorate over time.

NFC, calling and phone compatibility
There is a separate Redmi Watch 6 NFC model on Xiaomi’s global site. NFC hardware does not guarantee that payments, transit cards or other NFC services will work in every country. Support depends on the market, software region, participating banks and payment systems.
The watch supports Bluetooth calling through its speaker and microphone. It is compatible with Android 8.0 and later and iOS 14.0 and later, but compatibility does not mean identical functionality. Xiaomi specifically notes that local music playback is supported only on Android. Regional software and phone-platform restrictions may affect other features as well.
The watch is not a Wear OS or Apple Watch replacement by default. Buyers should not assume access to the same third-party app ecosystem, LTE independence or platform integration offered by those platforms.
Launch price and availability
China
The Redmi Watch 6 launched in China at 599 yuan on October 23, 2025.
Japan
Xiaomi released the watch in Japan on May 14, 2026, at a stated market price of ¥14,800. An introductory price of ¥11,980 ran from May 14 through May 27, 2026, so that promotion is no longer current.

Other markets and the United States
Xiaomi lists the Redmi Watch 6 and a separate NFC version on its global product pages. However, regional availability, pricing, colors, firmware, NFC services and included features can differ. The sources available here do not establish an official U.S. price or U.S. retail availability, so Chinese or Japanese prices should not be converted into a supposed U.S. MSRP.
Should you consider the Redmi Watch 6?
The watch makes the most sense for buyers who want a large AMOLED screen, built-in GPS, Bluetooth calling, broad workout support and long claimed battery life without moving to a premium smartwatch platform. Its aluminum frame, physical controls and quick-release straps add to the watch-like design.
Be more cautious if you need guaranteed NFC payments in your country, LTE independence, a mature third-party app ecosystem, medical-grade measurements or deep Apple and Google platform integration. iPhone owners should also verify feature support rather than assuming complete parity with Android.
The strongest value case depends on the local price and the exact model. A standard Redmi Watch 6, an NFC version and region-specific releases may not offer the same services even when the hardware looks similar.

The Redmi Watch 6 is a large-screen, long-battery fitness smartwatch that launched in China on October 23, 2025—not an upcoming product. Its 2.07-inch 60 Hz AMOLED display, GNSS, Bluetooth calling and 550 mAh battery are compelling, but the 24-day figure is a light-use maximum. Check the regional model carefully, especially for NFC, colors, software features and local availability.
