The Samsung Galaxy Fit3 officially launched in the United States on January 9, 2025, at $59.99. Samsung had introduced the fitness band in international markets roughly eleven months earlier, making the US arrival notable—especially because Samsung previously sold the Galaxy Fit2 in the country.
That launch date matters in 2026: the Fit3 is no longer a new US product. Its original price, current stock, warranty coverage, and replacement-band availability should be checked on Samsung’s live US product page before buying.
What happened to the Galaxy Fit3 in the US?
Samsung announced that the Galaxy Fit3 would be available in the US beginning January 9, 2025. At launch, the fitness band cost $59.99 and was sold through Samsung.com, national retailers, and carriers, according to Samsung’s US announcement.
The “nearly a year” description is approximate because the international rollout varied by market. Samsung introduced the Fit3 internationally in early 2024, then brought it to US buyers about eleven months later. As of September 2026, the accurate framing is a delayed-launch retrospective—not a report of a product newly arriving today.

What is the Galaxy Fit3?
The Galaxy Fit3 is a fitness tracker, or smart band, rather than a full smartwatch. It has a color touchscreen, phone notifications, workout and wellness features, and controls for a paired phone. However, it does not run Wear OS and cannot replace a Galaxy Watch for apps, calls, payments, navigation, independent GPS, or LTE connectivity.
Its appeal is simpler: the Fit3 is smaller and less demanding than a smartwatch, with a claimed battery life of up to 13 days. It uses an aluminum body and a rectangular design that looks more watch-like than the older Fit2.

What does “up to 13 days” mean?
Thirteen days is Samsung’s claim, not a guaranteed result for every owner. Samsung’s testing describes typical activities such as receiving notifications, checking text and time, completing workouts, and using the band with a paired Galaxy phone. Frequent workouts, more notifications, sensor use, and repeated screen interaction can reduce runtime. Treat the figure as a best-case or standardized estimate rather than a promise.
What can the Galaxy Fit3 track?
- Heart-rate measurements and high- or low-heart-rate alerts
- Stress measurements
- Blood-oxygen readings
- Sleep monitoring
- Automatic workout detection
- Exercise tracking
- Menstrual-cycle tracking
- Notifications and preset text-message replies
- Phone camera and media controls
- Fall detection and SOS emergency calling when paired with a compatible Galaxy phone
- Workout-mode syncing with a paired Galaxy phone
These are wellness and activity features, not a substitute for clinical monitoring. Heart-rate and blood-oxygen readings should not be treated as diagnoses or as a replacement for medical equipment or professional advice.

What the Galaxy Fit3 cannot do
The Fit3’s limitations are central to the buying decision:
- No ECG: Samsung explicitly says the Fit3 cannot perform an electrocardiogram.
- No body-composition analysis: It cannot provide the body-composition measurements available on some Galaxy Watch models.
- No built-in GPS: Samsung’s US specifications do not list independent GPS. Phone-connected workouts should not be described as phone-free route tracking.
- No LTE: There is no cellular modem, so it cannot operate as a standalone connected wearable.
- No iPhone support: iPhone owners should eliminate it from consideration.
- No Wear OS app ecosystem: It does not provide the broad third-party apps, voice-assistant features, calling functions, or smartwatch software of a Galaxy Watch.
The absence of these features is product segmentation, not necessarily a defect. Samsung is positioning the Fit3 as a low-cost tracker rather than an inexpensive version of a Galaxy Watch.

The Fit3 works only with Android phones. Samsung’s regional documentation specifies a Samsung Galaxy smartphone running Android 10.0 or later with at least 1.5GB of memory. Before purchasing, confirm that your phone meets those requirements and can install the relevant Samsung Health and Galaxy Wearable software.
Android compatibility is not the same as identical functionality on every Android device. Galaxy-specific features—including fall detection, SOS functions, and some workout-mode syncing—may depend on pairing with a Samsung Galaxy phone and using Samsung software. A non-Samsung Android phone may support the basic band experience without offering every Samsung integration feature.
If pairing fails, check the Android version, available phone memory, Bluetooth, Samsung Health, Galaxy Wearable, and the setup flow shown in Samsung’s support documentation. An iPhone cannot be made compatible through a different app or workaround.

Galaxy Fit3 versus Galaxy Fit2
The clearest upgrade is the display. Samsung says the Fit3’s 1.6-inch screen is 45% larger than the predecessor’s display in its regional launch material. The newer model also uses an aluminum body and a more modern rectangular design.

That does not turn the Fit3 into a smartwatch. It remains a basic tracker without ECG, body-composition measurements, LTE, independent GPS, or a full smartwatch software platform. The Fit3 is best understood as a more readable and modern successor in the fitness-band category, not as a Galaxy Watch replacement. Samsung’s available materials do not establish that every individual Fit2 feature was retained or improved, so the comparison should not go further than the documented design and positioning differences.
Galaxy Fit3 versus a Galaxy Watch

A Galaxy Watch costs more and generally requires more frequent charging, but it is the better category for someone who wants a phone companion rather than a tracker. Paying extra for a watch makes little sense if your needs stop at steps, sleep, notifications, and occasional workouts.

Buy it if you use a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone, want basic wellness tracking, prefer a light band, and value battery life over apps and cellular features. It can still be a sensible inexpensive wearable if the current price is well below its $59.99 January 2025 launch MSRP.
Skip it if you use an iPhone, need reliable phone-free GPS for running or cycling, want detailed training or recovery analytics, require ECG or body-composition measurements, or expect calls, payments, LTE, voice assistants, and third-party apps.

Because the US launch was in January 2025, current stock and pricing are separate questions from the original announcement. Check Samsung’s US listing and any retailer page live. A discounted, open-box, discontinued, or third-party-marketplace unit should be labeled accordingly rather than presented as a current $59.99 product.
Buying an imported Fit3
Imported regional units may have different model numbers and may not provide the same warranty, software behavior, charger, language support, or return policy as US stock. Confirm the exact model, seller warranty, return terms, and compatibility before ordering. Also check that replacement straps are available for that specific Fit3 connector if you plan to keep the band for several years.
Water resistance and health-data caveats
Samsung lists IP68 protection, while regional specifications also list 5ATM water resistance. These ratings should not be simplified to “waterproof.” They do not mean unlimited underwater use or guarantee protection against diving, high-pressure water, or every type of water exposure. Follow Samsung’s stated conditions.
Likewise, blood oxygen, heart rate, stress, sleep, and cycle-related information is intended for wellness use. Do not use the Fit3 to make medical decisions without appropriate professional guidance.

The Galaxy Fit3 finally became officially available to US buyers on January 9, 2025, at a $59.99 launch price. Its delayed arrival was significant, but its value in 2026 depends less on the old launch story than on the current price and stock.
For a Samsung Galaxy owner seeking a simple, lightweight tracker with long claimed battery life, it remains a reasonable choice—especially at a discount. For iPhone users, serious runners, or anyone expecting a full smartwatch, the Fit3 is the wrong category of device. Choose a Galaxy Watch for smartwatch functions, a Fitbit Inspire model for the Fitbit ecosystem and broader phone support, or a Garmin vívosmart model when activity analytics matter more than Samsung integration.
