A Samsung support page briefly revealed the Galaxy Watch Ultra name, an LTE model and a 47mm case size before the watch was officially announced. That made the June 21, 2024 leak unusually credible—but it did not confirm the watch’s full design or specifications. Samsung announced the finished watch on July 10, 2024, and it became generally available in the U.S. on July 24.
What the Samsung support-page leak confirmed
The information appeared on a Samsung-hosted support page, rather than in a third-party rendering or a retailer listing that might contain placeholders. The page identified the product as “Galaxy Watch Ultra,” listed an LTE model and specified a 47mm size. Samsung later removed the page, according to 9to5Google’s June 21, 2024 report.
That is meaningful first-party evidence, but it was not a full product announcement. A support listing can establish that a product name and model are in Samsung’s systems without disclosing the finished product’s complete feature set.
Why the “Ultra” name mattered
Before the page appeared, Samsung might have called its premium watch the Galaxy Watch7 Ultra, revived “Pro,” or chosen another name. Samsung had previously used Pro for the Galaxy Watch5 Pro. The support page pointed instead to a distinct “Galaxy Watch Ultra” tier, separate from the numbered Galaxy Watch line.

What remained unconfirmed on June 21
The page did not establish the price, release date, battery capacity, processor, materials, colors, or final feature list. Reports and leaked imagery suggested a cushion-like, squarish-round design and a larger battery, but those details were not confirmed by the support listing. Whether Samsung would sell a Bluetooth-only version was also unresolved at the time.
In other words, “confirmed” applied to the name, LTE listing and 47mm size—not every claim circulating about the watch.

What LTE means for a watch
An LTE model can handle some connected tasks when the paired phone is not nearby. Depending on the carrier, plan and app, that can include calls and messages, navigation, music streaming and workout tracking. Samsung says LTE watches need initial pairing with an eligible phone and a separate qualifying wireless plan; independent calling and other services can vary by carrier and location. - LTE is not free cellular service included with the watch. A wearable line or other qualifying plan is normally required.
- Check that the carrier supports the exact regional watch model and number-sharing or watch eSIM service before buying.
- LTE use can consume more battery than relying on a nearby phone, particularly alongside GPS, workouts or streaming.
What a 47mm case size suggests
The leak’s 47mm figure referred to the case size, not the display diameter. It was slightly larger than the 46mm Galaxy Watch6 Classic. That points to a substantial watch: potentially useful for a large, easy-to-read display and outdoor use, but less appealing for small wrists, discreet wear, sleep tracking or sleeves that fit closely.

Samsung’s final dimensions were approximately 47.1 × 47.4 × 12.1mm, and the watch weighs 60.5g. The official specification list gives a 1.5-inch, 480 × 480 Super AMOLED display protected by sapphire crystal. Those details arrived with the announcement, not the leaked support page. Samsung advertised up to 100 hours in Power Saving mode and up to 48 hours in Exercise Power Saving mode. These are mode-specific “up to” figures, not a promise of ordinary mixed-use battery life; LTE, GPS, display settings, workouts and health sensing can affect endurance. Durability ratings likewise are not a guarantee against damage in every activity or condition.

Compatibility and service limits
Samsung listed Android 11 or later and more than 1.5GB of memory as the broad compatibility baseline. That does not mean every health feature works identically with every Android phone: feature access can depend on phone, region, carrier and Samsung account requirements, and some Samsung-specific functions may require a Galaxy phone. LTE activation also depends on carrier support, while initial setup requires an eligible smartphone. Samsung’s official specifications and compatibility notes provide the product-level details.
How to read the leak today
The June 2024 page was a narrow but reliable clue, not an early specification sheet. It correctly pointed to Samsung’s new Ultra branding, cellular connectivity and single 47mm size. The rugged positioning, detailed hardware, battery claims, colors, price and release timing became established only with Samsung’s subsequent announcement.
