Yes—the $35 Galaxy Watch 7 deal was real, but it was a limited U.S. promotion reported on October 25, 2024, not the watch’s regular price. The figure appears to have applied to the 40mm Bluetooth model after an approximately $40 instant discount and a $225 trade-in credit for selected watches. It was an effective pre-tax price, and the offer should be treated as historical unless Samsung’s checkout confirms it is available again.
How Samsung got the price to about $35
The headline price depended on stacking two separate reductions against the Galaxy Watch 7’s launch-era price: a temporary instant discount and a trade-in credit. For the 40mm Bluetooth model, the arithmetic was:
$299.99 launch MSRP − approximately $40 instant discount − $225 trade-in credit = approximately $34.99
The $299.99 starting price is the October 2024 U.S. MSRP shown in Samsung’s wearables price sheet. The promotion and trade-in amounts were reported on October 25, 2024. The $35 was not cash back and was not the amount every buyer paid; it was the approximate price remaining after qualifying discounts and trade-in credit, before any applicable sales tax.

Trade-in values reported for the Watch 7
These were the historical promotional values highlighted in the October 2024 report—not permanent Samsung trade-in rates:

The $225 credit is what makes the approximately $35 calculation work with the 40mm Bluetooth model. With the $200 Watch 4 Classic credit, the same assumed $40 instant discount would leave about $60 before tax. The report also mentioned higher trade-in credits—up to $350—for selected watches toward the Galaxy Watch Ultra. That was a different purchase and does not belong in the Watch 7 calculation.

Model names matter. A Galaxy Watch 4 is not automatically a Watch 4 Classic, and a Watch 6 is not the same trade-in selection as a Watch 6 Classic. Samsung’s offer terms and trade-in flow determine which exact models qualify and what credit applies.

The final column illustrates the same assumed discounts; it is not a guarantee that every configuration was eligible for identical terms. A larger case or LTE model had a higher starting price, so the same credits would not bring it to $35. Tax could raise the checkout total further, depending on where the order shipped.
Is the $35 promotion still available?
Do not assume so. The offer was live when reported on October 25, 2024, but the available coverage does not establish a precise end date. Samsung trade-in boosts are temporary and may change. Samsung’s current U.S. Galaxy Watch 7 purchase page and wearables offers page show that prices and trade-in amounts depend on the current promotion and selected product. Later Samsung pricing documentation lists lower Watch 7 MSRPs than the 2024 launch prices, which is another reason not to reuse the old calculation as a current quote.

To check a present-day offer, select the exact case size and Bluetooth or LTE version on Samsung’s purchase page, then enter the exact trade-in model. Confirm that any instant discount and trade-in credit appear in the order summary, and check both the pre-tax price and the total after tax. Samsung’s terms say trade-in credit depends on its determination that the submitted device meets program eligibility requirements; offers may also have restrictions on combining them with other promotions. Read the terms shown for your order rather than relying on an old deal report.

What to check before sending in your watch
- Match the model exactly. Choose the same model and variant you own; do not assume a standard model receives the Classic or Pro value.
- Check the displayed credit. Make sure the order summary shows the expected trade-in credit alongside any instant discount before completing the purchase.
- Understand inspection risk. The checkout estimate is not necessarily the final determination. If the submitted watch does not match the declared model or applicable condition requirements, Samsung may adjust or deny the credit under the offer terms.
- Document the watch. Before shipment, photograph the watch, screen, case, and model or serial information. Keep the order confirmation, estimate, shipping receipt, and any inspection messages.
- Prepare it for transfer. Unpair the watch, remove account locks, and factory-reset it before sending it in.
- Compare the alternatives. A Samsung trade-in is convenient and applies through the purchase flow, but selling privately may return more for a premium watch in excellent condition. That can mean listing it, handling payment and shipping, and waiting for a buyer; compare actual offers rather than assuming either route pays more.
Bottom line
Samsung’s boosted trade-ins did make an approximately $35 Galaxy Watch 7 possible during the promotion reported on October 25, 2024. The arithmetic points to the 40mm Bluetooth model, an approximately $40 instant discount, and a $225 credit for a selected trade-in such as the Watch 6 Classic or Watch 5 Pro. It was a conditional, likely pre-tax effective price—not a standard price for every Watch 7. For any current purchase, rely on the live Samsung checkout total and terms, not the old $35 headline.
