Solos’ camera-equipped AirGo V2 smart glasses are designed to capture first-person video, send visual information to an AI assistant, and—according to Solos—support Full HD live streaming. The important caveat is that “stream directly from your face” does not necessarily mean phone-free broadcasting to YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, or every other major platform. Solos has not clearly documented all supported destinations or a completely standalone streaming workflow.
What are Solos AirGo V2 glasses?
Announced at CES 2026 on January 6, AirGo V2 is the camera-equipped successor to Solos’ AirGo Vision and audio-focused AirGo models. They look broadly like conventional prescription-compatible glasses, but add a front-facing camera, open-ear audio, microphones, touch controls, voice commands, and a virtual button.
The glasses use Solos’ modular design: compatible frame fronts and temple components can be changed for different styles or lens configurations. Solos says the V2 supports prescription, polarized, photochromic, and high-index lens options, although lens choices can increase the final price. AirGo V2 is not compatible with other AirGo models, according to the model-specific product page.
A smartphone remains central to the normal experience. The glasses pair with iOS or Android through the Solos AirGo app, which handles pairing, firmware updates, media management, Wi-Fi setup, and synchronization.

“Streaming directly from your face” means three different things
The headline feature is easier to understand if it is separated into three functions:
- Local recording: AirGo V2 captures photos and video from the wearer’s viewpoint.
- AI vision: The camera provides images or video context to an AI assistant for tasks such as identifying objects, reading text, translating signs, or answering questions about a scene.
- Live broadcasting: Solos says the glasses support Full HD live streaming, meaning a real-time camera feed can be sent onward rather than saved only as a local recording.
Only the third function is genuinely live streaming—and the available announcement does not establish that AirGo V2 can independently connect to every creator platform. A practical broadcast is likely to involve the Solos app, a paired phone, Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot, and a supported streaming integration. If a destination requires an account or stream key, that configuration will also be necessary.
In other words, AirGo V2 may provide a first-person camera source, but that is different from being a self-contained cellular livestreaming camera. Solos’ current public material does not clearly confirm a one-tap native path to YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, or TikTok.

Camera and recording capabilities
The headline camera specifications are:
- 16-megapixel camera
- Electronic image stabilization, not optical stabilization
- Up to 2K video recording at 30fps, according to the AirGo app listing
- Full HD live streaming, according to Solos’ launch material
- First-person photo and video capture
- Wi-Fi or phone-hotspot transfer for captured media
The distinction between 2K recording and Full HD streaming matters. A camera may record at a higher resolution locally while broadcasting at a lower one. Streaming resolution can also fall because of network bandwidth, encoding, application limits, platform restrictions, or changing cellular coverage. The 2K/30fps claim should therefore not be presented as 2K livestreaming.
First-person capture has practical limitations. The camera points where the wearer looks, not necessarily where they want the audience to look. Head movement can make footage distracting, and wind, traffic, crowds, and open-air conditions can make audio difficult. Electronic stabilization may help, but it does not turn a glasses-mounted sensor into a professional action camera.

AI features: visual assistance through SolosChat
AirGo V2 is also an AI wearable. Solos describes its multimodal platform as SolosChat 3.0, with named integrations including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and DeepSeek. This should be understood as Solos’ stated platform support—not a guarantee that every model is available in every country, app version, or subscription tier.

Advertised uses include:
- Identifying objects, scenes, and surroundings
- Reading text aloud
- Translating signs and other printed material
- Answering questions about what the camera sees
- Real-time web search and contextual assistance
- Voice conversations with an AI assistant
- Hands-free commands for taking photos and recording video
The app listing gives examples such as “Hey Solos, take a photo” and “Hey Solos, record a video.” Wake words and command behavior can change with firmware and app updates, so buyers should verify the current instructions rather than assume these exact phrases will always work.
Visual AI is not infallible. Recognition can fail in poor lighting, motion, glare, obstruction, unusual environments, or when the camera framing does not match the user’s question. AI-generated answers can also be wrong. These glasses should provide assistance, not be treated as a guaranteed source of navigation, translation, identification, or safety-critical information.
How the setup is likely to work
Solos has not published a fully verified, current walkthrough for every streaming destination. The expected workflow is nevertheless straightforward:
- Install the Solos AirGo app from the iOS App Store or the applicable Android store.
- Sign in or create any required Solos account.
- Pair the glasses with the phone over Bluetooth.
- Grant the permissions requested by the app, which may include camera, microphone, Bluetooth, local-network, notification, and location access.
- Configure Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot for media transfer and any available live-video workflow.
- Update the app and glasses firmware.
- Test local photos and video before attempting a broadcast.
- Confirm how the recording indicator behaves and where media is stored.
- Configure a supported livestream destination if that option appears in the current app or firmware.
- Run a private or unlisted stream before broadcasting publicly.
During testing, check the camera framing, microphone quality, network stability, battery drain, heat around the temples, and whether the stream disconnects when the phone changes networks. Do not assume that a successful local recording proves live streaming is configured.
Phone, wireless, and operating-system requirements
The V2 product page lists iOS and Android support, Bluetooth 5.2 and BLE, and an estimated Bluetooth range of about 33 feet in open space. Real-world range depends on the phone, obstacles, interference, and how the glasses are worn.

Bluetooth is not the same as a broadband connection. A live video feed needs network access, and the available documentation points to Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot for fast media transfer. That makes AirGo V2 best understood as a phone-assisted wearable rather than a standalone device with its own cellular modem.
For AI features, the phone and internet connection may also be part of the request-and-response path. This can introduce latency, especially when the glasses need to capture an image or video context and send it to a cloud service before producing an answer.
Battery life: quoted figures do not predict livestream runtime
Solos lists several battery figures for different workloads:

These are not interchangeable numbers. Occasional AI queries, standby, music playback, phone calls, continuous camera capture, and continuous live broadcasting place different demands on the battery. Solos’ published figures do not provide a verified continuous-livestream runtime, so creators should not plan a full event around the 16-hour mixed-use claim.
Continuous streaming may also create more heat and discomfort than ordinary voice use. A portable battery can extend the phone’s runtime, but it cannot remove the glasses’ own battery limit.
Durability: use the model-specific IP rating
The model-specific AirGo V2 product page lists an IP54 rating. Some generic AirGo V2 collection copy advertises IP67, creating an unresolved inconsistency. Until Solos clarifies it, the safer approach is to use the V2 product-page figure and avoid treating the glasses as fully waterproof.

IP54 generally indicates protection against limited dust ingress and water splashes, not safe immersion or unrestricted use in heavy rain. Buyers should confirm the current official rating before using the glasses around pools, beaches, or prolonged wet conditions.

Camera glasses change the social rules of ordinary eyewear. A visible recording indicator may help, but bystanders cannot always tell whether a camera is active, whether footage is being saved, or whether visual information is being sent to a cloud AI service.
Before buying, readers should find clear answers to these questions:
- Is the camera indicator always illuminated during capture or streaming?
- Can the camera be disabled through software?
- Can the lens be physically covered?
- Are photos and video stored on the glasses, transferred to the phone, or uploaded to cloud services?
- How long are images, recordings, voice data, and AI conversations retained?
- Which AI providers receive visual or audio data?
- Is facial recognition supported, prohibited, or removed?
- How can users delete captured media and conversation history?
Solos has announced a separate Privacy Kit that includes a physical camera shield. That is meaningful because a removable cover provides a visible, hardware-level way to block the lens when software controls or an indicator light are not sufficient. The available material does not establish that the kit is included with every AirGo V2 purchase; check the specific order page.
Schools, hospitals, workplaces, gyms, courts, private events, and other venues may prohibit camera glasses regardless of the product’s controls. Wearers should ask permission, respect local recording laws, and avoid recording people who have not consented—especially in private or sensitive settings.
Accessibility potential—and its limits
Solos highlights accessibility and enterprise applications, including an ongoing relationship with Envision. In principle, camera-based visual assistance could help with reading text, describing objects and scenes, translating signs, and providing hands-free voice interaction.

That makes AirGo V2 potentially interesting to blind and low-vision users, but it should not be presented as a medical device or as a replacement for orientation-and-mobility training, human assistance, or specialist low-vision equipment. Envision-related availability, pricing, and regional support should be confirmed separately. AI errors, poor connectivity, battery limits, and camera framing can matter considerably in accessibility use.
Price, lenses, and availability
Solos lists AirGo V2 models from $299. That is a starting price, not necessarily the final cost. Prescription lenses, photochromic or polarized options, high-index lenses, alternative frame fronts, and accessories may add to the total.
At the time of the cited store research, some V2 variants were unavailable or backordered. Stock, shipping dates, lens availability, taxes, and regional pricing can change, so check the official collection and the relevant product page before ordering. Solos’ U.S. store advertises free tracked shipping for North American orders over $199 and says purchases may qualify for free returns within 30 days of delivery; confirm the terms for your location and configuration.
AirGo V2 versus Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses
Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses are the obvious mainstream comparison, but a responsible comparison should focus on workflow and ecosystem rather than assuming one product wins from a single specification.

Who should buy AirGo V2?
AirGo V2 is a plausible fit for:

It is a poor fit for anyone seeking a confirmed phone-free cellular livestreaming camera, guaranteed all-day continuous recording, professional action-camera quality, a built-in AR display, or a completely offline AI experience. It is also a questionable choice for privacy-sensitive workplaces and venues where camera glasses are not permitted.
Bottom line
Solos AirGo V2 is more than an audio assistant with a camera: Solos says it can record stabilized first-person video, provide multimodal AI assistance, and live-stream in Full HD. At a listed starting price of $299, that makes it an interesting alternative to Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses.
But the strongest interpretation of the launch claim is not “a standalone camera that broadcasts anywhere from your face.” Expect a smartphone and network connection to be part of the normal workflow, treat 2K as a recording specification rather than a streaming one, and verify the supported destinations before buying. The product is worth considering for early adopters and POV creators; everyone else should wait for clearer platform documentation, independent testing, and continuous-streaming battery data.
