The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro is a good-value open-ear clip-on for listeners who prioritize comfort and awareness over isolation. Its light, flexible design avoids putting a tip in your ear canal, and independent testing found it comfortable and stable for many users, including during exercise. But its sound is bright with noticeably weak bass, and its six-hour rated battery life is shorter than some rivals’ claims. Treat it as a practical option for podcasts, calls and casual listening—not a replacement for bass-heavy or noise-isolating earbuds.
What the PearlClip Pro is—and what it is not
The PearlClip Pro is a pair of true-wireless, open-ear clip-on earbuds. Each flexible clip sits around the outer ear, positioning a speaker near the ear canal without sealing it. That makes it fundamentally different from conventional in-ear earbuds: you can generally hear nearby voices and environmental sounds, but you also give up much of the isolation and privacy a sealed fit provides.
It is not a noise-cancelling earbud, and open-ear audio does not make walking, running or cycling automatically safe. Music can still distract or mask sounds, especially at high volume. Keep the volume conservative near traffic, bikes, machinery and other hazards.

SoundPEATS lists Bluetooth 5.4, AAC and SBC codecs, a 12mm dual-magnet dynamic driver, touch controls and IPX5 water resistance. The company describes the clip as liquid silicone with nickel-titanium memory wire and lists each earbud at about 5.85g. See the official product page for the specifications.

Codec caveat: SoundPEATS’ main product page lists AAC and SBC, while an India listing mentions LDAC. That difference could reflect a regional version or a listing discrepancy. Do not assume LDAC support without checking the exact model and package sold in your market.
Comfort and fit: the main reason to consider them
Because the PearlClip Pro does not push a silicone tip into the ear canal, it may suit people who dislike in-ear pressure or the plugged-up sensation of sealed earbuds. RTINGS found the flexible construction comfortable for most users and stable enough for running and cross-training. The light weight helps, but no clip-on design can guarantee a comfortable fit for every ear.
The clip still contacts and exerts some pressure on the outer ear. Ear shape can affect how securely it sits, whether the speaker lines up beside the ear opening and whether the sound seems equally loud on both sides. Some users may find the clip loose, too large or uncomfortable after an extended session. These are fit-dependent concerns, not proof that the product will fail for everyone.

Before committing to a long workout or workday, check that the speaker sits close to your ear opening and that the clip feels secure without pinching. Turn your head, jog and try a few jumping movements. If you need to raise the volume unusually high, or the earbuds shift, the fit may not be right. Glasses arms, helmet straps, masks and large earrings can also interfere; check them together if you plan to wear the earbuds with any of those.
SoundPEATS says the case can adapt the left and right channels when the earbuds are placed in either charging slot and the case is closed for about 10 seconds. That is a useful convenience if you tend to put the earbuds away without tracking which one goes on which side.
Sound: clear for speech, but not a bass substitute
The open presentation can sound spacious and uncluttered, and spoken-word content is a natural fit. Podcasts, audiobooks and calls benefit from being able to hear voices without blocking the room around you. The large driver and the company’s claims about dynamic EQ are product specifications and marketing, however—not a guarantee of deep or balanced sound.

Independent testing from RTINGS found a bright sound with strongly underemphasized bass. It also noted an uneven high-mid and low-treble balance that can make some voices sound harsh or honky. The result may be enjoyable for speech and lighter music, but it is not a neutral or universally smooth tuning.

- Podcasts, calls and audiobooks: A strong use case, with clear speech and the benefit of hearing your surroundings.
- Acoustic, vocal and lighter pop: Potentially enjoyable if you like an open presentation and do not expect substantial bass.
- Rock and electronic music: Usable for casual listening, but the open design limits low-end weight and noisy surroundings make details harder to hear.
- Hip-hop, EDM and bass-first music: A poor match if you want a physical, punchy low end. Sealed earbuds will generally serve that preference better.
The PeatsAudio/SOUNDPEATS app’s EQ gives you room to adjust the signature. Try the default sound first, then experiment with reducing upper-mid or treble emphasis or adding modest low-end emphasis if you prefer. EQ can tailor the presentation, but it cannot make an unsealed earbud deliver the same bass impact or isolation as a well-fitting in-ear model. Coverage has also described optional movie or spatial processing, but it is not a reason on its own to buy these earbuds.
Awareness has a counterpart: leakage. Since the speaker is not sealed in the ear, people nearby may hear some of your audio, particularly at higher volumes or in a quiet room. That is usually less of a concern outside or in a busy gym than in a library, quiet office or beside another passenger. Open-ear means more awareness, not private listening.

Calls, controls and app
The earbuds support hands-free calling. RTINGS found the microphone performance roughly comparable to Bose’s Ultra Open Earbuds and better than the Soundcore C30i in its testing—a notable result at this price tier. That comparison does not mean calls will sound pristine in every setting: wind, traffic, nearby conversations and gym noise can still reduce clarity.
Touch controls are convenient when they work as intended, but accidental touches can happen while adjusting the clip, brushing back hair or handling an earbud. The app can add EQ and control customization, including the option to disable controls, according to independent coverage. App features and labels can change, so check the current app rather than relying on a fixed tap sequence from another firmware or regional version. Basic Bluetooth playback does not require using the app.

- Check that both earbuds and the charging case have charge.
- In your phone’s Bluetooth settings, remove the old SOUNDPEATS PearlClip Pro entry.
- Place both earbuds in the case and close it, then reopen it and try pairing again.
- If only one earbud connects, use the reset instructions in the current manual for your exact version; do not guess a touch sequence.
- If the app still cannot find the earbuds, update the app, confirm Bluetooth permissions are enabled and retry after removing the old pairing.
SoundPEATS’ product page identifies the default Bluetooth name and notes that the earbuds and case need sufficient charge for battery checks.

Battery and water resistance
SoundPEATS rates the earbuds for up to six hours per charge and up to 24 hours including the case. It also advertises up to two hours of playback from a 10-minute quick charge. Those are manufacturer figures, not guaranteed real-world results. Volume, calls, EQ or other processing, connection conditions and battery age can reduce runtime. RTINGS found the continuous battery life shorter than some competitors, so frequent all-day listeners should compare per-charge playback—not just the case-inclusive total.
Six hours is enough for many workouts, commutes or work blocks; the case total is reasonable, though not class-leading. The case charges over USB-C. If you routinely listen for longer stretches without a chance to recharge, consider a model with a longer quoted earbud runtime.
The earbuds are rated IPX5, which offers protection against water jets and sweat exposure; it does not mean they are waterproof. Do not swim or shower with them, submerge them, or put wet earbuds into the charging case. Let them dry before charging, and do not assume the case shares the earbuds’ rating.
How it compares with alternatives

Price can change the comparison. The SoundPEATS product page showed $79.99 in the US-facing result cited on August 16, 2026; an official regional listing showed a different sale price. Those are dated snapshots, not a guarantee of today’s price. If the PearlClip Pro is near $80, compare it carefully with discounted rivals. Below $50, its combination of light clip-on comfort and awareness looks more compelling for the right listener. Check the price, shipping and return terms in your market before buying.
Who should buy the PearlClip Pro?
Consider it if you dislike in-ear tips, want to hear colleagues or outdoor surroundings, and mainly listen to speech or casual music. It is also worth considering for walking, running or gym sessions if the clip fits your ears securely. Its appeal is comfort, awareness and accessible pricing—not an all-purpose upgrade in sound quality.
Skip it if you need noise cancellation, strong passive isolation, deep bass, quiet-room privacy or dependable sound in a loud commute. It is also a riskier fit if clips tend to bother your outer ears or you cannot return earbuds that do not suit your anatomy. For long, uninterrupted listening, check whether six hours per charge is enough.
