For most people, the Fitbit Charge 6 is the best Fitbit to buy in 2025. It combines built-in GPS, ECG, sleep tracking, Google Wallet, Google Maps, more than 40 exercise modes, and a compact design. Choose the Inspire 3 for the lowest price and longest claimed battery life, the Sense 2 for additional health and stress sensors, the Versa 4 for a larger watch-style display, and the Luxe only if its slim design matters more than GPS and newer hardware.
This is a 2025 buying guide using U.S. pricing signals. Prices and availability change, and Google’s lineup has since evolved. The ranking below should not be treated as the latest 2026 recommendation.

Best for: Most people, especially users who want a compact tracker with GPS.
#1 Best Overall

The Charge 6 is the strongest all-purpose Fitbit in the 2025 lineup. It is smaller and lighter than a smartwatch but includes the features that make a meaningful difference during workouts: built-in GPS, pace and distance tracking without a phone, more than 40 exercise modes, Active Zone Minutes, cardio-fitness estimates, and heart-rate monitoring.
It also supports ECG, EDA Scan, sleep stages, Google Maps, Google Wallet, YouTube Music controls, and phone notifications. Google has promoted improved heart-rate tracking during vigorous exercise, but that is a manufacturer claim rather than independent proof that it is the most accurate tracker for every user.
GPS, battery and comfort
Built-in GPS makes the Charge 6 a much better choice than the Inspire 3 or Luxe for phone-free running and cycling. Its battery is rated for up to seven days, but GPS workouts, always-on display use, frequent notifications, and other settings can reduce that figure substantially. Water resistance is rated to 50 meters.

That trade-off is the reason to buy the Charge 6 instead of a watch-shaped Fitbit.
Subscription and compatibility
Core tracking works without assuming a paid plan, but deeper readiness insights, coaching, workouts, and some detailed analysis may depend on Fitbit’s paid service, whose naming and feature availability can vary by market and software version. Google product pages now use the name Google Health Premium, while 2025 coverage generally used Fitbit Premium.
Google lists compatibility with most phones running Android 11 or later or iOS 16.4 or later. A Google Account and internet access are required for setup and some services. Google Wallet support also depends on country, bank, and card compatibility.

2. Fitbit Inspire 3: Best budget Fitbit
Best for: Beginners, sleep tracking, basic wellness, small wrists, and buyers who prioritize comfort and battery life.
Rank #2
- Fitbit Charge 6 tracks key metrics from calories and Active Zone Minutes to Daily Readiness and sleep; move more with 40+ exercise modes, built-in GPS, all-day activity tracking, 24/7 heart rate, automatic exercising tracking, and more[1]
- See your heart rate in real time: Just link your Charge 6 to compatible exercise machines, like treadmills, ellipticals, and more[2]; and stay connected with YouTube Music controls[3]
- Tune into your body: Track your response to stress with a stress management score; learn about the quality of your sleep with a personalized nightly Sleep Score; and wake up more naturally with the Smart Wake alarm
- Run your routine with Google essentials: Find your way seamlessly during runs or rides with turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps on Fitbit Charge 6; and when you need a snack break on the go, just tap to pay with Google Wallet[1,4]
- Unlock more with Google Health Premium: With a premium membership, get personalized coaching that’s built with Gemini and adapts to your life[7]; get a 3-month trial at no cost to you[5] (Google Health Premium subscription sold separately)
The Inspire 3 is the simplest and most affordable Fitbit recommendation. It tracks activity, heart rate, sleep stages, Sleep Score, stress-related metrics, Active Zone Minutes, menstrual-health information, and irregular-heart-rhythm notifications where supported. It can also display phone notifications and may be worn with a clip accessory rather than on the wrist.
The crucial GPS limitation
The Inspire 3 does not have built-in GPS. Outdoor pace and distance rely on connected GPS from your phone. That is adequate if you always carry your phone, but it is not equivalent to an onboard GPS watch. Do not buy it for phone-free running, cycling, or hiking.

Its battery is rated for up to 10 days, the longest claim among these main recommendations. As with every Fitbit estimate, GPS is not the issue here, but frequent notifications, screen use, and other settings can still reduce real-world runtime.
What it lacks
The small screen is suited to glanceable information rather than extensive on-wrist control. It is not a full smartwatch, does not provide onboard GPS, and is not the right choice for Google Wallet or advanced workout controls. General wellness tracking is its strength; it should not be described as equivalent to the Sense 2’s health hardware.
Skip it if: You run or cycle without your phone, want payments from your wrist, or need a large display.
Choose instead: The Charge 6 if you want a compact tracker with GPS, or the Versa 4 if you want a watch-style interface.
3. Fitbit Sense 2: Best Fitbit for health and stress features
Best for: Buyers who specifically want ECG, stress-related measurements, skin-temperature trends, and a larger display.
The Sense 2 is the specialist choice. Along with built-in GPS, heart-rate tracking, sleep tracking, exercise monitoring, and Active Zone Minutes, it includes ECG capability, EDA-related stress features, and skin-temperature sensing. It is the Fitbit to choose when those additional sensors matter more than price or app depth.
Its battery is rated at more than six days, and Google advertised fast charging that could provide about a day of use from 12 minutes of charging. GPS, display settings, notifications, and always-on display use can shorten battery life.
Rank #3
- Google Fitbit Air is the unbelievably comfortable, exceptionally smart way to transform your health[1]; and Google Health brings together effortless tracking and adaptive coaching to help make the most of your everyday[2]
- Unlock more with Google Health Premium: With a premium membership, get personalized coaching that’s built with Gemini and adapts to your life[2]; get a 3-month trial at no cost to you[5] (Google Health Premium subscription sold separately)
- Comfortable fit - One Size Tracker (130-210 mm): The lightweight, micro-adjustable fit sits comfortably and quietly, so you can wear Google Fitbit Air through work, play, and sleep; advanced sensors and new algorithms power more accurate, precise health tracking, 24/7[1]
- Designed for every occasion: With no screen to distract you or disrupt your style, your tracker moves seamlessly from bracelet to workout band to sleep band, and you can change looks in seconds – just press the pebble in, click, and go
- Long battery life: Google Fitbit Air’s battery lasts up to a week, and fast charging gets you one day of battery life in just five minutes[6,7]
Why it is not the default recommendation
The Sense 2 is an older health-focused smartwatch with a limited app ecosystem. It is difficult to recommend at full price when the Charge 6 covers many users’ needs at a lower cost and the Versa 4 offers a simpler large-screen experience. Its advantage is the extra health hardware, not a richer smartwatch platform.
ECG and irregular-heart-rhythm features are screening tools, not diagnoses. Availability varies by country and product, and a reading should not replace medical advice or evaluation by a clinician. Fitbit metrics such as oxygen saturation, skin temperature, readiness, and heart rate are useful for trends and context, but they are not medical-grade diagnoses.
Skip it if: You only need basic activity and sleep tracking, or expect Apple Watch-, Galaxy Watch-, or Pixel Watch-level apps.
Choose instead: The Charge 6 for a smaller and less expensive health tracker, or the Versa 4 if you do not need ECG and advanced stress hardware.
4. Fitbit Versa 4: Best Fitbit smartwatch value
Best for: Users who want a larger display, built-in GPS, long battery life, and a watch form factor.
The Versa 4 is the better Fitbit for reading workout stats, notifications, and other information on the wrist. It includes built-in GPS, heart-rate and sleep tracking, exercise modes, Active Zone Minutes, notifications, Google Maps, and Google Wallet. Google advertised more than six days of battery life and fast charging at launch.
Its larger watch-style design is easier to read than the Charge 6’s narrow screen, but it is less discreet for sleep and all-day wear. It also lacks the Sense 2’s ECG and advanced stress-sensing hardware.
The smartwatch trade-off
The Versa 4 is not an Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch equivalent. Its app ecosystem and general smartwatch capabilities are limited compared with those platforms and with Pixel Watch. Buy it for Fitbit’s health and fitness experience on a larger screen, not for a huge selection of apps or advanced phone integration.
Skip it if: You want ECG, specialized stress sensors, extensive apps, or the smallest possible sleep tracker.

Best for: Buyers who care most about a discreet, fashion-oriented design.
The Luxe remains relevant only as an appearance-first option. It is slim and less conspicuous than a watch, but it lacks built-in GPS and is an older product. The Inspire 3 offers a more current budget Fitbit experience, while the Charge 6 is the better technical choice for users who need GPS.
Availability and U.S. pricing are inconsistent, so do not pay near the price of newer models for a Luxe. Check the return policy, battery condition, charger, band, and software compatibility carefully if buying remaining or used inventory.

- Want the safest recommendation? Buy the Charge 6.
- Want the lowest price and longest battery claim? Buy the Inspire 3.
- Want ECG and the broadest Fitbit health-sensor set? Buy the Sense 2.
- Want the easiest-to-read display? Buy the Versa 4.

Built-in GPS versus connected GPS
Built-in GPS is available on the Charge 6, Sense 2, and Versa 4. These models can record outdoor pace and distance without carrying a phone. The Inspire 3 and Luxe use connected GPS from a paired phone.
Connected GPS is perfectly reasonable for casual walks or runs when your phone is already with you. It is not a substitute for onboard GPS when you want phone-free workouts. Onboard GPS also consumes more power, so the advertised battery maximum is less realistic for frequent long outdoor workouts.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Which Fitbit is best for sleep?
The Inspire 3 is the easiest recommendation for sleep because it is light, narrow, and rated for up to 10 days. The Charge 6 is the better choice if you also want built-in GPS and stronger workout capability without moving to a watch form factor. Versa 4 and Sense 2 provide larger displays and more watch functionality, but their larger bodies may be less comfortable for some people overnight.
Best Value
- Inspire 3 is the tracker that helps you find your energy, do what you love and feel your best – all you have to do is wear it;
- Compatible with Apple iOS 16.4 or higher and Android OS 11.0 or higher
- Move more: Stay motivated with a Daily Readiness Score, Active Zone Minutes, all-day activity tracking and 24/7 heart rate, 40+ exercise modes, automatic exercise tracking, and reminders to move
- Stress less: Keep an eye on your well-being with a daily Stress Management Score, mindfulness sessions, relax breathing sessions, irregular heart rhythm notifications, SpO2, menstrual health tracking, resting heart rate, and more[1,2]
- Sleep better: Automatic sleep tracking, a daily detailed Sleep Score, smart wake vibrating alarm, and sleep mode help you improve your sleep quality[3]
Fitbit versus Pixel Watch
Fitbit trackers prioritize battery life, comfort, sleep tracking, and passive health monitoring. Pixel Watch products combine Fitbit features with a fuller smartwatch operating system, more apps, and a different set of options for calls, navigation, notifications, and cellular connectivity.
Choose a Fitbit tracker if multi-day battery life and a lightweight design matter most. Compare Pixel Watch directly if you want a complete smartwatch and are willing to accept a different price, size, platform, and typically shorter battery life. A Versa 4 is not simply a larger Pixel Watch.
Android and iPhone compatibility
Charge 6 and Inspire 3 product pages list support for most Android 11-or-newer and iOS 16.4-or-newer phones, but requirements can vary by model, country, app version, and future software changes. Confirm the exact requirement before purchasing.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Fitbit generally works with both Android and iPhone, but iPhone users should not expect Apple Watch-level integration. Samsung phone owners may prefer Galaxy Watch if deep Samsung ecosystem features are more important than Fitbit’s sleep and wellness approach.
Should you buy an older Fitbit?
Be cautious with used Charge 5, Versa 3, original Sense, or other discontinued models. A low price does not reveal battery health, and replacement batteries are not a simple buyer remedy. Check the battery condition as far as the seller permits, charger availability, band wear, account-pairing status, return policy, and current software support.
Do not buy an older model at nearly the price of the newer equivalent. A refurbished device can make sense when the discount is substantial and the seller offers a meaningful return period.
Does Fitbit Premium matter?
Basic activity, heart-rate, sleep, and workout tracking is not the same as access to every Fitbit insight. Readiness scores, detailed score breakdowns, coaching, workouts, and some deeper analysis may require a paid subscription depending on the product, account, country, and software version.
Before buying, decide whether you want only the hardware’s included tracking or the broader coaching and analysis package. A discounted device can be less attractive if the features you care about are subscription-dependent. Check the current Google product page for the exact feature and plan in your market rather than assuming every Fitbit has identical access.
Quick Recap
Buying checklist
- Confirm whether you need built-in GPS or will always carry your phone.
- Choose a tracker design for comfort or a watch design for readability.
- Verify phone, country, bank, and card compatibility for Google Wallet and health features.
- Treat battery figures as manufacturer maximum estimates, not guaranteed runtimes.
- Check which coaching, readiness, and detailed insights require a paid plan.
- Do not pay current-model money for the older Luxe or a used discontinued Fitbit.
- Use a retailer with a clear return policy, especially for refurbished or used units.
