The Evie Ring is a thoughtful, subscription-free smart ring with a genuinely distinctive open design—but it is not the most mature option in 2026. Its roughly four-day battery, basic cycle features, limited Android compatibility, US-only availability, uncertain stock, and one-year warranty make it a better fit for a specific buyer than a universal recommendation.
Choose Evie if you live in the US, want a women-focused wellness ring without a monthly fee, and value its flexible-looking design. Choose Oura, RingConn, Samsung, or another alternative if you need longer battery life, broader availability, stronger workout tools, or more developed health insights.

What is the Evie Ring?
The Evie Ring is a women-focused smart ring from Movano Health. Launched in spring 2024 at a listed price of $269, it uses sensors and a companion app—not a display—to track and present wellness information. The ring and app cover sleep, heart rate, blood oxygen, skin-temperature variability, activity, mood, symptoms, and menstrual-related information.
Its most important commercial advantage is that there is no recurring subscription. That makes the $269 launch price more straightforward than the cost of a ring whose most useful insights are locked behind a membership. However, ownership cost is not only the purchase price: battery aging, replacement availability, app support, and warranty coverage still matter.

Evie’s official product page and Care Center contain the current ordering and support information. Availability has been unsettled: WIRED’s July 2026 smart-ring guide reported Evie as sold out, even though the official site continues to expose the product and sizing flow. Check the store before assuming it can ship.
The clever idea behind Evie
An open-ring design
Unlike a conventional solid smart ring, Evie has an open or split-ring construction. That gives it a visibly different identity and addresses a real comfort consideration: fingers can swell or shrink during the day and across the menstrual cycle.
The design may feel less restrictive than a fully enclosed band, and its women-first positioning is expressed in the hardware rather than only in the marketing. It also looks more like an intentional piece of jewelry than a miniature fitness tracker.

But the opening does not make Evie universally adjustable. It can catch on clothing or hair, may move on a finger, and could create sensor-contact issues if the fit is loose. Movano still recommends using its sizing process because correct fit is important for comfort and biometric consistency. The right conclusion is that Evie’s design solves one fit problem while introducing different ones.
The free sizing kit is genuinely useful
Do not guess your size from an existing ring. Evie’s sizing kit is especially important because finger circumference can change throughout the day.
- Open the Evie product page.
- Select Silver, Gold, or Rose Gold.
- Choose Free Sizing Kit instead of a final ring size.
- Complete checkout.
- Wear and test the plastic sizing samples.
- Try the intended finger at different times of day and overnight.
- Confirm your size and finish so Evie can ship the actual ring.
Evie says the sizing kit, its shipping, and the ring’s shipping carry no additional charge. Its shipping FAQ estimates sizing-kit delivery at 5–7 business days, with no expedited option listed.
Test the sample while sleeping, after activity, and when your fingers are warm. Check for pinching, excessive marks, rotation, and whether the sensor area stays in consistent contact. The open construction may accommodate some change, but it does not eliminate the need for a good initial size.

The charging case doubles as storage and lets you recharge away from a wall outlet. Evie estimates approximately four days of ring battery life under normal use, around 10 ring charges from the case, and roughly one hour to charge the ring from 10% to 90%. Those are manufacturer estimates detailed in its battery guidance.
The case makes frequent charging less inconvenient, but it does not make four-day battery life competitive with longer-lasting current rings. It is a useful mitigation, not a solution to the underlying limitation.
What Evie tracks—and what that means
Evie records biometric signals and turns them into app-based trends and estimates. Those are three different claims, and they should not be confused:
- Measurement: sensors collect signals such as heart rate, blood oxygen, and skin-temperature variation.
- Interpretation: the app organizes those signals into sleep, activity, mood, symptom, and cycle-related information.
- Health decision: a user decides whether the result is reliable enough for a specific purpose.
The first two are the core of a consumer wellness ring. They do not establish that Evie is accurate enough for diagnosis, contraception, fertility treatment, or another medical decision. The available evidence does not justify invented accuracy percentages or medical equivalence with clinical equipment.

Sleep and general wellness
Evie is most defensible as a broad wellness tracker: sleep patterns, heart-rate information, activity, and personal observations can help users notice trends. The experience is simpler than Oura’s more developed readiness, recovery, and sleep ecosystem, but that simplicity may suit someone who wants basic feedback without a subscription.
Continuous tracking depends on continuous wear. Evie recommends having at least 25% battery before bedtime to reduce the chance of low-power mode and lost sleep data. Heavy use of Spot Check or Activity Mode can reduce battery life further. A frequent charging schedule therefore creates more opportunities to remove the ring when sleep data matters most.
Cycle, mood, and symptom information
Evie’s women-focused positioning is meaningful, but “designed for women” does not automatically mean “best for fertility or cycle tracking.” The app may allow users to record periods, moods, symptoms, and related observations, while some information is estimated from sensor data and patterns.
Current comparison coverage has described Evie’s menstrual-health features as comparatively basic or underdeveloped. WIRED’s July 2026 guide specifically says they lag behind competitors. That does not prove that Evie’s calculations are medically inaccurate; it does mean buyers should inspect what the current app actually measures, estimates, predicts, and lets them export before purchasing.

Do not treat a consumer ring as a contraceptive, diagnostic, or fertility-treatment device unless a specific feature is explicitly supported by appropriate regulatory documentation and medical guidance.
The first-generation quirks
Four-day battery life is merely adequate
Approximately four days is manageable, especially with the case, but it is short enough to affect behavior. You must remember regular top-ups, and a missed charge can interrupt sleep tracking. Rechargeable batteries also lose capacity over time.
A practical routine is to charge during a shower, breakfast, or another predictable daily task rather than waiting until bedtime. If you depend on overnight tracking, do not go to sleep with the ring near empty.
Reliability concerns are real, but not quantified
Apple App Store reviews and owner discussions on Reddit contain recurring reports of charging failures, battery deterioration, Bluetooth instability, finish wear, water-related concerns, inconsistent period tracking, and frustration during replacements. These reports identify failure modes worth taking seriously, but they are not controlled failure-rate data.

The fair conclusion is not that every Evie fails. It is that prospective buyers should understand the downside of owning a sealed first-generation electronic device with a small battery and limited repairability. Read the App Store reviews and owner discussions as anecdotal warnings, not as representative statistics.
The app and integrations are less mature
Compared with Oura, Evie offers a simpler software experience, fewer extensive readiness and recovery analyses, and more limited integrations. Some owners have also reported inconsistent sleep or period data.
Android support is particularly specific. Evie requires Android 12 or newer and officially supports Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices. Other Android phones may work, but Evie does not guarantee a perfect experience. The app is distributed in the US only. Its Android FAQ also says that, at least in the documented version, Journal data did not transfer from iOS to Android even though the same login credentials could be used. Verify the current behavior before switching platforms.

US-only availability is a major limitation
Evie’s shipping FAQ says it ships only to US addresses, while the companion app is available through the US Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Importing the hardware is therefore not a dependable workaround for international buyers: app access, customer support, returns, and warranty handling may still be restricted.
The one-year warranty increases long-term risk
Evie provides a one-year limited warranty, subject to its policy and exclusions. The stated remedy is generally replacement rather than repair or refund. Damage caused by the user or an unauthorized third party may be excluded, and transferred or resold rings are not covered.
Evie’s warranty FAQ says approved replacements are expected to arrive within 5–8 business days. That is a timing estimate after approval, not a guaranteed turnaround from the day a problem is reported. Review the warranty policy and warranty FAQ before buying, particularly if you expect to keep the ring for several years.

A ring that fits comfortably in the morning may feel tighter later in the day or during another phase of the menstrual cycle. Use the sizing sample over a full day and overnight, and test the actual finger you plan to wear it on.
Evie support material says the ring was tested at one meter for 30 minutes and can be worn while washing hands, showering, and swimming. That is not the same as unlimited waterproofing. Soap, chemicals, hot tubs, impacts, aging seals, and improper use can present different risks. Treat the rating as stated water-resistance testing, not a guarantee against every environment.
If the ring fails, the likely path is support review followed by replacement if the claim is approved. There is no user-serviceable battery. A used or transferred ring may not retain warranty coverage, so an apparently cheaper resale unit can carry substantial risk.

Who should buy the Evie Ring?
Consider it if:
- You are in the US and use iOS or a supported Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel Android phone.
- You want to avoid a monthly subscription.
- The open-ring design addresses a comfort concern for you.
- You want basic wellness trends, sleep tracking, and symptom or mood journaling.
- You value women-focused positioning more than advanced athletic analytics.
- You can tolerate frequent charging, uncertain stock, and a one-year warranty.
Wait or choose another ring if:
- You live outside the US.
- You need seven- to nine-day battery life or dependable uninterrupted sleep tracking.
- You expect mature fertility, ovulation, or cycle insights.
- You need broad Android compatibility or extensive integrations.
- You want comprehensive workout detection and training analytics.
- You need medical-grade reliability, diagnosis, or contraception guidance.
- You want an established product with clearer long-term availability and support.
Verdict
Evie is not a bad idea hidden inside an ordinary ring. Its open construction, free sizing process, portable charging case, women-focused strategy, and subscription-free app are meaningful advantages.
But the same product still feels like an early generation. Four-day battery life, charging and connectivity reports, relatively basic cycle features, restricted Android support, US-only distribution, unstable stock, and a one-year replacement-focused warranty all raise the ownership risk.
Evie is worth considering only when its design and no-subscription model solve a specific problem for you. If you mainly want the most dependable sleep, recovery, fitness, or cycle-tracking experience, newer and more established competitors are safer choices. The concept is clever; product maturity and availability are the real questions.
