Short answer: A hands-on report found that the HAYONLIY silicone band felt and fit much like Google’s Pixel Watch Active Sport Band, but that is one reviewer’s experience—not proof of equal durability or quality control. The roughly $8 price was reported in December 2025 and may no longer be current. If you want a low-cost color option, HAYONLIY may be worth considering; if dependable construction and official support matter more, choose Google’s band, especially when it is on sale.
What was compared
The comparison is between a HAYONLIY silicone replacement band sold through Amazon and Google’s Pixel Watch Active Sport Band. Both have a perforated, sport-oriented design, but the available evidence is about everyday comfort, fit, finish and appearance—not tracking, electronics or independently measured material performance.
The original hands-on report, published December 12, 2025, said the HAYONLIY band cost about $8 per band at the time. It also described a 10-color multipack at roughly $25. Those are historical listing prices, not current offers. The original report is based on one editor’s use of two bands for a couple of months.
What the hands-on report found
On a 45mm Pixel Watch 4, the reviewer said the HAYONLIY band’s silicone feel, surface finish and general design came close to Google’s Active Sport band. The connector fit was described as nearly perfect, and the band was comfortable for daily wear and sleep. The reviewer reported no major problems with the two bands used during that period.

That is encouraging, but it is not a controlled durability test. There are no independently verified measurements here for silicone composition or hardness, connector pull-out strength, sweat resistance, skin irritation or how the band holds up across colors and production batches. “Feels just as good” should be read as a personal comfort impression, not a finding that the products are identical.

Google’s band guide describes the Active Sport as silicone, perforated and waterproof. Its accessory specifications also identify silicone construction. Those Google specifications do not establish an equivalent water rating for HAYONLIY; do not assume the third-party band is suitable for swimming based on appearance alone.

The main caveat: fit is not the same as reliability
The most consequential reported complaints concern broken bands or connectors. A cosmetic mismatch is inconvenient; a connector that separates can let the watch fall. The hands-on account does not show that failures are common, but it also cannot establish that every unit or batch is dependable. The reviewer’s good experience with two samples is useful context, not a guarantee.

That may matter if you want a coordinated look, even if the band feels comfortable on the wrist.

Check the size before ordering
Pixel Watch bands are not interchangeable between the 41mm and 45mm sizes. Google’s sizing guidance says 41mm accessories fit the smaller models, including the 41mm Pixel Watch 4; 45mm accessories fit the 45mm Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 4.
- Pixel Watch, Pixel Watch 2 or Pixel Watch 3, 41mm: choose the 41mm band.
- Pixel Watch 3 or Pixel Watch 4, 45mm: choose the 45mm band.
- Pixel Watch 4, 41mm: choose the 41mm band.
The original hands-on test was on a 45mm Pixel Watch 4. It does not independently verify HAYONLIY’s fit on every generation or size. Marketplace titles can be vague, so confirm the exact size variant and connector compatibility in the listing rather than relying on a title that says “41/45mm.”

When Google’s band is worth paying more
Choose Google’s Active Sport Band if you want an official color, a more finished color-matched look, or greater confidence in consistency and support. It is also the lower-uncertainty choice if you plan to wear the band frequently for exercise or around water. Google lists six colors, including Indigo and Peony; a particular shade or current stock can vary by market.
The price gap is not fixed. A January 27, 2026 deal report found some official bands at roughly $15–$25 on Amazon during a sale, compared with the approximately $8 HAYONLIY price reported earlier. Those sale prices were time-sensitive, not a current quote. Check current pricing before deciding: if an official band is only a few dollars more, its predictable fit and finish may be worth the difference. Google’s official product page is another place to check its current offering.

Buyer checklist for a third-party band
- Confirm that the listing offers the correct 41mm or 45mm variant for your watch.
- Check the current seller, price, return terms and stated delivery details; the historical $8 price does not guarantee today’s listing.
- On arrival, inspect both connectors for cracks, gaps, loose molding or rough edges.
- Attach the band and gently tug each side to check that both lugs are seated and the locking mechanism is flush rather than loose or wobbly.
- Try it during ordinary activity first. Check for discomfort or skin irritation, particularly if sweat or soap residue remains under a snug band.
- Stop using it if a connector begins to separate from the silicone. Keep your original band as a backup if you rely on the watch for exercise or overnight wear.
These are sensible consumer checks, not manufacturer-certified safety procedures. If a band feels loose or damaged, do not trust it with a watch you cannot afford to drop.
Verdict
HAYONLIY looks like a plausible budget alternative for Pixel Watch owners who want a sport-style silicone band, extra colors or a low-cost spare. One reviewer found its comfort and fit close to Google’s on a 45mm Pixel Watch 4. But the evidence does not establish equal durability, and reports of connector problems make quality consistency the key trade-off.
Choose HAYONLIY when price and color variety lead your priorities and you are willing to verify the size and inspect the hardware. Choose Google Active Sport when predictable fit, finish and official support matter more. Check both prices before buying: when Google’s band is discounted close to the third-party option, the official band is the more reassuring purchase.
