The Tissot PRX Digital is real, but it is not a 2026 launch. Tissot introduced this Swiss-made digital quartz PRX in 2023, with Japan’s official release scheduled for September 30, 2023. In 2026, the relevant questions are whether you can still find one, which reference suits you, and whether its price makes sense beside a conventional PRX or a much cheaper Casio.
What the PRX Digital is
The PRX Digital combines the tonneau-shaped case and integrated steel-bracelet language of the PRX with Tissot’s late-1970s Digital Quartz heritage. It is a conventional battery-powered watch—not a smartwatch—with no Bluetooth, apps, notifications, health tracking or rechargeable battery. Tissot describes the module as multifunctional, with dual time, day/date, chronograph, timer, alarm and display backlighting. The product pages also specify a battery end-of-life indicator.

Tissot announced the model in 2023 through its pressroom; Swatch Group Japan listed September 30, 2023, as the initial boutique, directly operated-store and official-online-store release date (announcement). A headline calling it a “new release” in 2026 should therefore be read as a rediscovery, clearance or availability story—not a new product launch.

References and colors are market-dependent; a listing in one country does not mean the same configuration is orderable everywhere. The 35 mm model is the more compact, vintage-proportioned choice. The 40 mm model gives a more contemporary presence. Because the integrated bracelet and tonneau case spread visually across the wrist, diameter alone does not determine how large either version will feel.

The gold-tone references use PVD-coated 316L stainless steel rather than solid gold. Their documented specifications include sapphire crystal, 100-meter water resistance, the CR2025 battery and approximately 134 grams for the 40 mm model. PVD can wear differently from bare steel under abrasion, so do not treat the coating as permanently flawless.

The exact button sequence varies by module and reference. Use the manual linked from the relevant product page rather than relying on a generic PRX guide. The official material confirms the functions, but not a universal operating procedure or a guaranteed battery-life figure.
Availability in 2026
Availability is uneven. Tissot’s current U.S. PRX collection displays quartz and automatic PRX models but does not show the PRX Digital among its 59 listed models. That suggests reduced or discontinued U.S. online availability, but it is not an official discontinuation statement. At least some international pages still list PRX Digital references, including the Thai collection.
Consequently, “discontinued” is too definite. Check Tissot’s country-specific site, authorized dealers, old stock and reputable resale channels immediately before buying. Community reports of clearance purchases are useful leads, not proof of a corporate decision.

Prices and buying channels
Official prices vary by country and date. A Tissot Australia page showed A$590 for the 35 mm steel model, while Tissot Thailand showed ฿16,200 for a 40 mm gold-tone model; another Thai collection listing showed a 35 mm Digital at ฿12,800. These are local prices, not a universal U.S. MSRP, and they should not be converted into a definitive global price.
Separate the original launch price, current official list price, authorized-retailer price, clearance price, gray-market price and used price. For any non-official listing, confirm the exact reference, whether the watch is new old stock, refurbished or used, the dated warranty card, included bracelet links and manual, return policy, and warranty validity in your country. Be especially cautious of stock photos, “new 2026” claims and unusually low prices that do not identify the seller or reference.

Tissot’s U.S. collection has shown regular PRX quartz models around the $400–$450 range and many Powermatic 80 models from roughly $775 to $950, subject to reference and price changes. A mechanical PRX is the choice for movement enthusiasts; the Digital is the practical choice if you actually want alarms, timers or dual time.

Is it worth buying?
It makes sense when
- You specifically want a Swiss-made retro-digital watch rather than a generic digital.
- You value sapphire, steel construction, an integrated bracelet and 100-meter water resistance.
- You want multifunction features in an unusual PRX case.
- You find an authentic example at a substantial discount from a reputable seller.
Think twice when
- You simply need inexpensive digital timekeeping; Casio, Timex or Armitron will cost far less.
- You want a smartwatch, rechargeable battery or connected features.
- You prefer a thin, visually simple watch or a conventional analog PRX.
- You would be paying near luxury-watch pricing without clear warranty support.
- You cannot confirm battery/service support or the condition of old stock.
The CR2025 battery is documented, but no official runtime estimate is supplied. Have battery work performed by Tissot or a qualified watchmaker when preserving water resistance matters, and consider a pressure test afterward. “100 meters” is not a guarantee of unlimited diving; seals age and water resistance can fall after case opening, shocks or improper handling.

Verdict
The Tissot PRX Digital is a genuine 2023 Swiss digital watch, not a new 2026 release. Its sapphire crystal, steel integrated bracelet, 100-meter rating and unusually complete multifunction module give it a credible niche. At full or near-full pricing, inexpensive digital watches offer far more function per dollar. At a meaningful discount—with the exact reference, condition, warranty and service path verified—it becomes a distinctive alternative to both a conventional PRX and a Casio.
