Watchicity was a genuine Watchville-style watch-news aggregator launched in late 2022, but it should not be treated as a new, currently downloadable app in 2026. At launch it combined articles and videos from 22 watch-media titles, with search, bookmarks, rankings and source filtering. The original App Store and Google Play links now return 404 errors, while a third-party Android tracker records a Google Play removal on January 23, 2025.
Why Watchicity was created
Watchville had offered watch enthusiasts one destination for feeds from multiple publications. After Watchville shut down, readers again had to check individual websites, apps and newsletters. Watchicity was designed to fill that gap: it was an aggregator of watch journalism and video, not primarily a new editorial publication or social network.
The launch was covered by Fratello on November 9, 2022, which described the app as a functional, “spiritual successor” to Watchville. That description indicates similar purpose, not shared ownership, technology or a formal corporate continuation.
What the launch version offered
Fratello reported a launch lineup of 22 titles, including Fratello itself. That was a snapshot of the initial catalog, not a permanent promise about the number or identity of participating publications.

- Platforms and price: It was advertised as a free download for iOS and Android.
The appeal was straightforward. A collector interested in Rolex, Omega, independent brands, auctions and industry news could reduce the friction of checking many sites separately. The trade-off was that an aggregator could not replace each publisher’s full website experience, including newsletters, comments, memberships, advertising context and original navigation.
Who operated it?
Watchicity’s About page identifies the service as a brand of The Watches Network SA, based in Pully, Vaud, Switzerland. The company also lists Watches Networks Americas LLC, doing business as Watchonista, in the United States. Executive management is listed as Marco Gabella.
This corporate information helps distinguish Watchicity from Watchville: the evidence supports a separate product intended to solve a similar problem, not an app officially created by Watchville.

Current availability cannot be confirmed through the original official store links. When checked on August 18, 2026, the launch article’s App Store listing and Google Play listing returned 404 errors.

For Android, AppBrain’s historical record reports removal from Google Play on January 23, 2025. It lists version 2.0.0 as the last known release, updated December 18, 2023. AppBrain also records approximately 2.6 thousand historical downloads and a 5.00 rating based on 21 ratings. Those are third-party historical figures, not evidence of current support, safety or availability.
The missing iOS listing establishes that the linked page is unavailable; it does not, by itself, prove why Apple’s listing disappeared or that no private, regional or replacement listing could exist. Likewise, the surviving website, terms and privacy policy do not prove that the mobile app is actively distributed or maintained.
What this means for different users
If Watchicity is already installed
An installed copy may still open, but that does not establish that its backend is operating. Test whether new stories arrive, search returns results, bookmarks load, source links open correctly and notifications still work. Feeds can become stale or incomplete when a publisher changes its URLs, a feed breaks or the aggregator’s service is no longer maintained.
Do not uninstall it merely to troubleshoot if you cannot reinstall it from an official store. An app remaining on a phone is not proof that it is supported.

If you want it on Android
The official Google Play listing is unavailable according to the checks above. Avoid recommending random APK mirrors: an unofficial package may be modified, unsigned differently, outdated, incompatible with current Android releases or granted permissions you did not expect. The historical 25.34 MB APK-size record does not make a sideload safe.
If you want it on iPhone
The original App Store URL returns 404, so a current official download cannot be confirmed. Do not confuse an old web link, an existing installation or Watchicity’s corporate pages with a presently supported App Store product.

Watchicity’s terms were last updated October 19, 2022. They describe software for accessing watch blogs and YouTube content on iOS and Android, primarily to read articles and watch videos. The terms say The Watches Network SA, rather than Apple or Google, is responsible for the application and that the software is licensed rather than sold.
The document mentions a technical requirement of “firmware version 4.0.0 or higher,” but the wording is too ambiguous to turn into a modern iOS or Android compatibility claim. It also says technical device and application information may be collected for support, updates and service improvement.

The privacy policy, also dated October 19, 2022, says the service may process information supplied by users, names and email addresses, optional social-login data, application-related data where permission is granted, push-notification preferences, device and operating-system details, and cookies or similar technologies for web services. It describes access, correction and deletion requests, along with certain California privacy rights.
Because these documents are old and there is no clear evidence of active app maintenance, they may not describe the technical behavior of a current or formerly installed build in full. Readers should treat them as historical disclosures, not confirmation of present-day data practices.
Was it a true Watchville replacement?
Functionally, yes: both concepts put multiple watch-media feeds in one destination. Commercially and editorially, not necessarily: Watchicity had its own operator, catalog, interface and source-selection arrangements. Its rankings could also favor large or highly active publishers, and a single aggregation service created a single point of failure. The underlying publications could remain online even if Watchicity’s feed, search index or links stopped working.
The practical verdict
Watchicity was a credible, free launch-era attempt to replace the convenience Watchville had provided. Its reported feature set—22 launch titles, video browsing, search, bookmarks, popularity lists and source hiding—addressed a real reader need.
In 2026, however, the responsible description is historical and qualified: the original store links checked on August 18, 2026, are unavailable, and Android tracking data records a 2025 delisting with the last known update in 2023. The app may still function for some people who already have it, but there is no reliable evidence here of broad official distribution or ongoing support. For current watch news, follow publications directly through their websites, newsletters, RSS feeds or official apps rather than depending on an unsupported legacy installation.
