Yes—the Siri Watch Face was removed in watchOS 11. Apple did not remove Siri itself: the voice assistant still works on supported Apple Watch models. What disappeared was the dedicated watch face that automatically surfaced calendar events, reminders, weather, and other contextual information.
The closest replacement is watchOS 11’s expanded Smart Stack. It offers many of the same kinds of timely information, but it is a widget interface—not a watch face—and it cannot reproduce the original Siri Watch Face exactly.
What changed in watchOS 11?
Apple released watchOS 11 on September 16, 2024. As part of that update, the Siri Watch Face was retired. Apple’s developer documentation lists the face as available in watchOS 11 and earlier, while directing newer watchOS development toward widgets and Smart Stack.

Siri Watch Face versus Siri
| Feature | Status in watchOS 11 |
|---|---|
| Siri Watch Face | Removed |
| Siri voice assistant | Still available on supported Apple Watch models |
| Smart Stack | Expanded with suggested widgets and Live Activities |
| Siri-related suggestions | Delivered through widgets and system suggestions rather than the old dedicated face |
| Third-party replacement | Only a partial visual or functional approximation |
You can still invoke Siri using the Digital Crown, “Hey Siri,” Raise to Speak, and other supported controls. A Siri complication, an app shortcut, or a widget is not the same thing as the old Siri Watch Face.

Why did Apple remove it?
Apple’s public watchOS 11 announcement describes the redesigned Smart Stack, but it does not give a detailed official statement saying that Smart Stack was the specific reason for removing the Siri face.

The most reasonable explanation is that the two interfaces overlapped. The Siri Watch Face displayed changing, context-sensitive information directly on the face. In watchOS 11, Smart Stack became more capable, with widgets that can appear based on factors such as time and location, plus Live Activities and more automatic app content. That gives Apple a system-wide way to surface dynamic information regardless of which face the user chooses.
Contemporary analysis also pointed to an interaction overlap: both the Siri face and Smart Stack depended on scrolling through changing information, while newer behaviors such as Live Activities and the double-tap gesture made Smart Stack more central to the watchOS experience. This is a plausible product rationale, not a detailed explanation officially confirmed by Apple.

Changing faces, reinstalling the Watch app, or purchasing a newer Apple Watch will not restore it. Third-party watch-face and dashboard apps may imitate its appearance or provide complications, but they cannot recreate the original system face’s permissions, data sources, and automatic behavior. They may also require opening an app, have limited background updating, or involve subscriptions.
Staying on watchOS 10 preserves access if the watch has not been updated, but it also means delaying newer features and the normal security and compatibility benefits of later software. Avoiding an update solely to keep one face is therefore a trade-off, not a reliable restoration solution.
What replaced the Siri Watch Face?
Smart Stack: the closest functional replacement
Smart Stack is the best first-party alternative for people who liked the Siri face because it surfaced changing information automatically. It can show suggested widgets, weather, alerts, workouts, training information, timers, media controls, and Live Activities.

Modular Compact: information density with predictable placement
Modular Compact is a better choice if you want several complications visible without relying on automatic suggestions. It offers a dense, configurable layout, but the information is less adaptive: you choose what stays available instead of having the system reorder content according to context.
Modular: fixed information at a glance
Modular works well for a conventional setup containing calendar, activity, weather, battery, and reminders. It sacrifices the Siri face’s dynamic prioritization in exchange for predictable placement and immediate visibility.
Other faces and third-party dashboards
Faces such as Photos, Flux, and Reflections may appeal if what you miss is the visual character of your old setup. They are not functional Siri Face replacements. Third-party dashboard apps can add another approximation, but Apple Watch complications and app limits prevent them from matching the original system behavior exactly.

If the face disappeared unexpectedly
First check the watchOS version. If the watch updated to watchOS 11, the missing face is expected. Also make sure you are not confusing Smart Stack with the Face Gallery, or searching the complications list for “Siri” when looking for a complete watch face.
If the watch appears otherwise unchanged, a previously configured face may have been replaced or the watch may be showing a different face collection. Those checks can explain why the face is not visible, but they cannot restore it on watchOS 11.

Apple removed the Siri Watch Face in watchOS 11, not the Siri assistant. Smart Stack is the closest functional successor: it brings contextual widgets and Live Activities to any watch face, but it does not provide the same always-visible, adaptive layout. Use Smart Stack for automatic information, or choose Modular or Modular Compact when predictable glanceable data matters more.
