In the U.S., start with Samsung’s Request a Repair page, then compare a quote from a local uBreakiFix by Asurion store. Use an independent smartwatch repair specialist for older or unsupported models, and consider DIY only when you have a compatible part and accept the risk of damaging the display, sensors, adhesive seal, or battery.
There is no single Galaxy Watch battery-replacement price. The model, case size, LTE configuration, warranty status, location, diagnosis, and repair method all affect the final quote.
First, make sure the battery is the problem
Short battery life can indicate normal lithium-ion aging, but it does not prove that the battery has failed. A dirty charging contact, damaged charging puck, incompatible adapter, failed wireless-charging coil, software activity, or mainboard fault can produce similar symptoms.

- Shorter runtime: may be ordinary battery aging or unusually active apps, sensors, notifications, or connectivity.
- No power: could be a discharged or failed battery, but also a charging-system or board problem.
- Repeated restarts: may result from a failing battery or another hardware/software fault.
- Charging only at one angle: points toward the puck, alignment, contacts, cable, or charging hardware.
- Swelling, heat, separation, smoke, or leaking: is a safety problem, not a routine battery-life complaint.
Before paying for a replacement, try a known-good, compatible charger and adapter. With the watch powered off, inspect and gently clean the dry charging surfaces. Do not keep charging a watch that is unusually hot, swollen, cracked, leaking, smoking, or physically separating. Do not squeeze, puncture, or place a damaged lithium-ion battery in household trash.

Identify the exact watch before requesting service
“Samsung watch” covers substantially different products. Repairability and battery availability can vary between the original Galaxy Watch, Watch Active, Galaxy Watch4, Watch5, Watch6, Watch7, Watch Ultra, and older Gear models.
Record these details:
- Product family and exact model number
- Case size, such as 40/42 mm or 44/46 mm
- Bluetooth/Wi-Fi or LTE version
- Classic, Pro, or Ultra designation
- Serial number
Samsung’s wearable support page provides model-search and repair entry points. The model number is often available in the Galaxy Wearable app, on the watch or packaging, or in the phone’s connected-device settings. Confirm it rather than ordering a battery based only on appearance or case diameter.
Best places to replace a Samsung watch battery
1. Samsung Support
Samsung is the best first stop for a newer watch, a possible warranty claim, or a device for which third-party parts are difficult to find. Its repair flow can determine which service methods are offered for the model, serial number, warranty status, and location.
- Open Samsung’s Request a Repair page.
- Sign in or create a Samsung Account if prompted.
- Select Watches and add or identify the device.
- Enter the model and serial number.
- Describe the issue as battery life, charging, power, or a related symptom.
- Review the available service method, estimated cost, and turnaround.
- Confirm whether the repair is walk-in, mail-in, or another available option.
Samsung does not publish one universal U.S. Galaxy Watch battery price on the repair page. The amount depends on diagnosis, repair type, warranty status, model, and location. The portal can also provide repair-status and warranty information.
Samsung’s We Come To You page describes a certified technician, a $30 convenience fee, and repairs that are usually completed within two hours for eligible service. However, Samsung says availability depends on the product model and location. Do not assume this option is offered for every Galaxy Watch; check the repair request flow.
2. uBreakiFix by Asurion
uBreakiFix by Asurion is the clearest nationwide in-person option documented for Samsung watches. Its Samsung-watch service page advertises more than 700 stores, free diagnostics, walk-in or scheduled appointments, same-day service for many repairs, Samsung-authorized repair-provider status, and a one-year limited warranty on most repairs.
Those are advertised service signals, not guarantees for every store or model. Parts, technicians, eligibility, pricing, and turnaround can differ locally. Call the specific store before visiting and ask:

- Is the battery in stock, or will the watch be sent elsewhere?
- Does the quote include diagnostics, parts, labor, adhesive, and any applicable fees?
- What type and source of battery will be installed?
- What repair warranty applies, and can I receive it in writing?
- How long will the repair take?
- What happens if the watch has additional damage or cannot be opened safely?
- Will you replace the adhesive or gasket, and do you perform any seal or pressure testing?
Use the Samsung watch battery-replacement page to locate the service, but obtain the actual quote from the selected store. A same-day promise for many repairs does not mean every watch will be repaired the same day.
3. A reputable independent smartwatch repair shop
An independent shop may be sensible for an older Gear or Galaxy Watch that official channels no longer support. Choose a shop with demonstrated smartwatch experience, not merely a business that replaces phone batteries.
Require a written quote that identifies the exact model, battery source, labor, warranty, and any conditions. Ask how the shop handles the screen, rear cover, flex cables, sensors, adhesive, and gasket during opening. Clarify its policy if the display or back cover breaks, the battery is unavailable, or corrosion is discovered.
Be skeptical of a promise that the watch will be “waterproof exactly as before” unless the shop explains how seals are replaced and tested. Opening a sealed watch makes its original water resistance uncertain.

DIY is most defensible for an older watch with a documented battery, guide, and low resale value. iFixit’s battery catalog and Galaxy Watch repair guide are useful starting points for compatible models.
When checked in August 2026, the surfaced iFixit listings showed parts-only prices of $39.99 for a 42 mm original Galaxy Watch battery and $29.99 for a 46 mm version. Prices and stock change, and those amounts exclude tools, shipping, adhesive, labor, and the cost of a failed repair.
This is not a five-minute beginner repair. It involves opening the case, disconnecting internal components, handling adhesive, and removing a lithium-ion battery. A damaged battery can vent or ignite; the display, wireless-charging components, flex cables, sensors, and back cover can also be damaged. A battery that physically fits may still have the wrong electrical specification. Opening the watch can affect warranty coverage, and replacement adhesive does not automatically restore the factory seal.

How much does Galaxy Watch battery replacement cost?
Do not use a phone battery-replacement price as a proxy for a smartwatch. Samsung and authorized repair providers generally quote after receiving the watch details or performing a diagnostic.

Compare any professional quote with the watch’s current used value and the price of a comparable refurbished replacement. A cheap part does not necessarily mean a cheap installed repair, particularly if the case, display, charging system, or seal also needs work.
Water resistance after a battery repair
Restoring power is not the same as restoring water resistance. Opening the case compromises the original factory seal. A competent repair may replace adhesive or gaskets, but that alone does not prove the watch has regained its original protection.
Ask whether the repairer performs pressure or seal testing and what limitation applies afterward. Unless the repairer specifically confirms relevant testing and limitations, treat water resistance as reduced or uncertain. Avoid swimming, showering, diving, and pressurized water after repair rather than assuming the watch is safe because it turns on and charges normally.

Check Samsung’s warranty terms for your product and country before authorizing third-party work. Samsung’s warranty documentation notes exclusions involving battery repair not furnished or approved by Samsung. The repair portal can help check warranty status and provides a way to submit proof of purchase if the recorded date is incorrect.
Do not assume Samsung Care or every Protection Plus plan includes smartwatch battery replacement. Plan terms vary by product and coverage. Review the exact terms for your watch before relying on them.

Prepare the watch before handing it over
- Confirm the exact model, size, variant, and serial number.
- Photograph the front, back, bezel, buttons, and visible damage.
- Back up available data.
- Remove payment cards and sensitive information where possible.
- Unpair or reset the watch only when the official repair instructions require it.
- Never give a repair shop your Samsung Account password.
- Remove straps and accessories unless the repairer requests them.
