Original report: April 5, 2024. Current product status checked against Xiaomi Singapore’s product information. The Singapore IMDA listing was a genuine sign that Xiaomi was preparing the Smart Band 9 for markets beyond China, but it did not confirm a launch date, price or worldwide availability. The band is now an official product in Xiaomi Singapore’s lineup, so “may launch soon” is historical framing, not a current prediction.
What the Singapore certification actually showed
A report published on April 5, 2024, said the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 had appeared in Singapore’s IMDA certification database. It identified M2345B1 as the standard model and M2346B1 as a possible NFC variant. The report’s model identifications and interpretation are reported by Gizmochina.
Singapore certification was a meaningful signal that Xiaomi was preparing the wearable for international markets. It was not an announcement from Xiaomi: certification alone does not establish when a device will go on sale, its local price, or whether every market will receive the same version. The listing also did not confirm the band’s full specifications or design.
What happened after the report
Xiaomi now publishes an official Singapore Smart Band 9 product page and specifications page. The IMDA sighting therefore foreshadowed a product that later became part of Xiaomi’s Singapore offering. It did not establish a simultaneous launch schedule for Singapore and every other market.

Xiaomi Singapore’s wearables page also lists the Smart Band 10, Smart Band 9 Active and Smart Band 9 Pro. Availability and pricing can change, so check the local listing rather than treating an old price signal or the presence of a product page as proof that an item is in stock.

Specifications and feature availability can vary by region or software version. Xiaomi’s product page also notes that some functions, such as events, music or camera controls, may depend on the phone model.

Health, fitness and everyday functions
Xiaomi lists heart-rate, blood-oxygen, sleep, stress and menstrual-cycle tracking, along with breathing exercises and more than 150 sports modes. Running courses and training-related measures include recovery time, training effect or load, and estimated maximum oxygen consumption. The band also supports vitality-point scoring and displays more than 200 watch faces, according to Xiaomi.
Everyday tools include phone notifications, music controls, alarms, a timer, stopwatch, weather, flashlight, find-phone, world clock, focus and task features. This is a fitness band with phone-connected conveniences, not a full smartwatch platform. It does not provide standalone cellular service, and the listed functions should not be taken to mean it has the app ecosystem of a Wear OS watch or Apple Watch.
Xiaomi states that the band and Mi Fitness are not medical devices. Their measurements are for personal reference and are not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent medical conditions.

Battery life depends on how you use it
The headline figure is up to 21 days, not a guarantee of three weeks in every setup. Xiaomi’s typical-use test uses a static watch face, disables high-precision sleep and sleep-breathing monitoring, and turns off all-day stress and blood-oxygen monitoring. It also limits heart-rate scans to once every 30 minutes and sets defined amounts of notifications, screen activation and exercise recording.

Those are test results under different conditions. As an inference from those test settings, frequent workouts, continuous health monitoring, AOD, many notifications and repeated screen use are likely to reduce real-world endurance.
What 5ATM means for swimming
Xiaomi describes the band as suitable for swimming in a pool and shallow-water activities. It advises against wearing it for hot showers, saunas, hot springs, diving or fast-moving water sports, including activities that expose it to strong water impacts. Water resistance can diminish through wear over time. Xiaomi also advises against using leather or braided straps for swimming or sweaty exercise; check the restrictions for any replacement strap.

What the NFC model report does—and does not—mean
Gizmochina associated model M2346B1 with a possible NFC version, while identifying M2345B1 as the standard model. That was a reported identification, not proof that an NFC Smart Band 9 is sold in every region or that its contactless functions work locally. Xiaomi’s Singapore specifications do not establish that the Singapore model supports NFC payments.
Before buying an imported unit for payments or transit, confirm the exact model and region, whether the relevant service and firmware are supported, and what warranty the seller provides. NFC hardware alone does not guarantee compatibility with a local bank, payment service or transit system.
Should you buy the Smart Band 9 now?
The Smart Band 9 is worth considering if it is substantially cheaper than newer options and you want a light, compact band for activity and sleep trends, notifications and basic sports tracking. Its 1.62-inch AMOLED screen and Xiaomi’s long, settings-dependent battery-life claims are relevant advantages for that use. Check the current local price and warranty: Xiaomi’s purchase page has displayed S$0.00, which is not a usable retail price, and the category page’s observed prices are not guaranteed live offers.

Use the comparison as a starting point, not a substitute for checking current specifications, local availability and warranty terms. Xiaomi’s Singapore wearables page is the cited source for the listed models; it does not, by itself, establish the specific feature differences below.
