Xiaomi launched its Wrist ECG and Blood Pressure Recorder—commonly identified as the Xiaomi Watch H1—in China on October 26, 2023. It combined ECG recording with a wrist blood-pressure system built into an inflatable strap, plus fall detection and emergency-notification features. The announcement was for China; no confirmed worldwide rollout or official international purchase page has been established.
What Xiaomi actually launched
The full launch name was Xiaomi Wrist ECG and Blood Pressure Recorder. Technology coverage also called the same device the Xiaomi Watch H1, not a separate watch. Xiaomi introduced it at its October 26, 2023 China event alongside the Xiaomi 14 series, Xiaomi Watch S3 and HyperOS announcements. Contemporary launch reports described the device and its features; they did not establish a global release.

An inflatable strap, not just an optical estimate
The Watch H1’s defining hardware is an inflatable section in its strap. During a reading, an air bladder tightens around the wrist, making the system more like a miniature cuff than watches that estimate blood pressure from optical sensors and require calibration against another cuff. “One-click” refers to quick access through a dedicated shortcut or physical control; it does not mean an instantaneous result. The wearer still needs to keep the arm still while the strap inflates. Xiaomi’s launch coverage says the shortcut could be customized for the user’s measurement needs, but no verified, region-specific menu path or button label was published.
Why technique still matters
Wrist readings can be affected by movement, talking, a loose or poorly positioned strap, clothing, and the height of the wrist relative to the heart. A cuff-equipped watch is therefore not automatically interchangeable with a validated upper-arm monitor. If a reading is unexpectedly high or low, rest and repeat it with a validated reference device rather than changing medication from one wearable result.

ECG recording: useful measurement, not a diagnosis
Launch reporting said the Watch H1 could record an ECG in about 30 seconds. It was also described as offering review involving doctors from Chinese tertiary hospitals and as participating in collaborative research with Chinese medical institutions. Those are reported product claims, not evidence in the available material of independent accuracy testing or authorization in every country.

An ECG records electrical activity and may identify certain rhythm patterns. It does not rule out every arrhythmia, a blood clot, stroke, heart failure or a heart attack. Xiaomi’s general ECG guidance says readings should not be used to change medication without medical advice and warns that people with pacemakers or other implantable electronic devices should follow the applicable product instructions carefully. Fall detection and emergency assistance
The announced safety package included a six-axis inertial sensor, fall detection, emergency calling and rapid notifications to family members. The watch was also reported to be able to dial an emergency number in an emergency.
- Fall algorithms can miss an event or generate a false positive.
- A notification is not a guarantee that emergency services will be dispatched.
- Calling may depend on a paired phone, Bluetooth range, cellular service, account permissions, configured contacts and regional emergency-number support.
- The launch reports do not establish the alert timeout, supported countries, independent cellular operation or whether every emergency function works without a phone.
Before relying on the feature, an importer would need to verify phone pairing, permissions, emergency-contact setup, local network support and the watch’s regional firmware.

Medical-device status: what is and is not established
Some contemporary reports called the Watch H1 a medical-grade or Chinese second-class medical device. The available evidence does not include a primary Chinese regulator listing, certificate number, intended-use statement or Xiaomi regulatory document. The careful conclusion is that it was described that way in coverage, while the specific certification should be checked against Xiaomi or Chinese regulatory records.

There is no evidence here that the Watch H1 is FDA-cleared, FDA-approved, CE-marked or authorized for clinical use in the United States. Nor is there an independent validation study establishing that its readings can replace a clinical monitor.

The product announcement was China-market focused. As of August 16, 2026, no official Xiaomi global Watch H1 purchase page was established in the available evidence. Xiaomi’s later regional Watch 5 pages document ECG-related functions, but they do not prove that the Watch H1 launched internationally: Malaysia page and UK page.
An imported listing should be checked for the genuine inflatable pressure strap, Chinese or global firmware, Mi Fitness compatibility, language, warranty, charger, return policy, health-data interpretation and local medical-device documentation. NFC payments, Xiao AI, emergency calling, app services and updates may not transfer to another country.
Who the Watch H1 could suit
- China-based users wanting ECG and cuff-style wrist blood-pressure readings in one wearable.
- People who value a dedicated measurement shortcut, fall alerts and family notifications.
- Users willing to treat the watch as a supplemental tracking device and verify important readings with a validated monitor.
Who should choose something else
- Anyone who needs a locally supported product, local warranty or confirmed regulatory authorization.
- People monitoring diagnosed hypertension or making treatment decisions; a validated upper-arm monitor remains the more appropriate reference category.
- Buyers who require independently verified emergency response or guaranteed fall detection.
- Users with an implanted electronic device who have not confirmed that ECG use is appropriate in the applicable Xiaomi instructions.

The Xiaomi Watch H1 was a real October 2023 China launch, and its inflatable strap made it materially different from optical-only blood-pressure watches. Its ECG, fall and emergency features were ambitious, but launch claims are not a substitute for independent validation, a clinician’s advice or a validated upper-arm monitor. With no confirmed worldwide rollout in the available evidence, an imported unit is a region-compatibility and support gamble rather than a straightforward international smartwatch purchase.
