For Ultra owners, the best choice depends on use: Trail is the strongest all-rounder for exercise and long wear, Marine is the secure choice for swimming, and PeakForm is the most polished everyday option.
First, identify your Galaxy Watch

Samsung explains the release mechanism and model differences in its band-release guide and warns that Ultra bands are not compatible with other Galaxy Watch models. A nominal 20 mm or 22 mm width does not prove fit: the end connector, curved profile, release button and lug geometry must also match.
If you own a Galaxy Watch8 or Watch8 Classic
Stop before ordering an Ultra band. Shop for Watch8/Watch8 Classic bands made for the Dynamic Lug System, such as Samsung’s Sport, Hybrid, Fabric and Athleisure families. Samsung’s Watch8 band guide is at Samsung Newsroom; Samsung’s product pages also state that these bands are not for Ultra, for example the Fabric Band and Sport Band.

Marine Band
Samsung describes Marine as quick-drying and fitted with a titanium lock. Its double-tongue buckle is intended to hold during intense movement and water use (Samsung support; Samsung Newsroom). Choose it for swimming, beaches, heavy sweat and maximum retention. The trade-off is bulk: the buckle and wide construction can be uncomfortable overnight or on a smaller wrist.
Trail Band
Trail uses lightweight, flexible material with a latch-and-hook closure for running, hiking and long workouts. Samsung published an approximate 20-gram figure for an earlier Ultra Trail Band; treat that as model- and size-specific, not a universal weight (Samsung Newsroom). It is usually the easiest design to fine-tune, but fabric can retain sweat, water and lint.

PeakForm Band
PeakForm is the structured option for daily wear and outdoor use when Trail looks too casual. Samsung’s US pages show a $79.99 price signal for several colors, including White Sand and Orange (White Sand; Orange). It is less optimized for swimming and may feel rigid during sleep.
Fit and sizing checklist
- Measure wrist circumference where the watch will sit, not across the hand.
- Check whether Samsung lists the band for small/medium or medium/large wrists.
- Leave room around the wrist bone; the case should not press into it during movement.
- Allow for heat or exercise-related swelling.
- For heart-rate tracking, use a close but comfortable fit; for sleep, prioritize a soft, low-profile strap.
- Remember that the Ultra case and wide bands can feel oversized on a small wrist. Trail’s closure is generally more forgiving than fixed-hole or bulky-buckle designs, but comfort is individual.
Official, third-party and adapter-based choices
Official Samsung bands
Official Marine, Trail and PeakForm bands provide the clearest connector compatibility. At roughly $80–$85 in current US listings, they are premium accessories; the premium buys model-specific fit, Samsung’s stated construction and simpler returns, not a guarantee that one design suits every wrist.

Third-party direct-fit bands
Consider a third-party band only when the listing explicitly says Galaxy Watch Ultra compatibility and shows the Ultra connector. Look for a stated wrist range, corrosion-resistant hardware, customer photos, a return policy and clearance around buttons and sensors. Avoid listings that merely say “20 mm universal,” include Watch8, Watch7 and Ultra in one unsupported compatibility claim, or omit connector photographs.
Adapters and traditional bands
An adapter can expand the choice of leather, nylon or standard-width straps, but it adds another failure point. Possible problems include a connector that appears latched but releases under sideways pressure, gaps or sharp edges, case scratches, and interference with controls. Leather is unsuitable for swimming, showers and heavy sweat; reserve it for formal or office wear only after verifying the adapter and Ultra fit.

How to clean and maintain the band
- Rinse Marine after saltwater or chlorine exposure and dry the buckle and underside.
- Wash Trail gently after sweaty sessions and let it dry fully before wearing it again; do not seal damp fabric in a bag.
- Wipe PeakForm with a soft, slightly damp cloth and follow Samsung’s material guidance.
- Inspect the connector after cleaning. Do not wear a band that will not click fully into place.
- Replace a strap showing frayed stitching, cracked silicone, loose hardware or a distorted connector.
