Watch Brands A to Z in 2026

Watch Brands A to Z brings together watch houses by name, alongside country lists, smartwatch makers and workout apps that run on a watch. Each view answers a different buying question.

Compare a house's stated home and founding details, what its own record says it makes, and—where given—the maker behind a smartwatch or app. The list is rebuilt nightly.

Before you choose

Choosing a first good watch

Start with the house's stated home and founding details, then read what the maker says it produces. Baume & Mercier traces its origins to 1830 in Geneva; Bulova was founded in 1875 in New York City.

A house's record can also show a more recent start. 88 Rue du Rhone launched in 2012 in La Chaux-de-Fonds as an independent Swiss-made watch brand.

Choosing a watch as a gift

Use the maker's name and home to narrow the choice before comparing styles on its own pages. Bulgari is an Italian house founded in 1884 and headquartered in Rome; Breitling was founded in 1884 in Saint-Imier and is headquartered in Grenchen.

Choosing for a job or sport

Match the stated house record to the setting you have in mind, then check the maker's own specifications for the particular watch. The list itself does not assign a watch to a job or sport unless the record says so.

For a smartwatch or workout app, compare the maker, generation order and the watch families the app names, including Apple Watch, Wear OS, Garmin, Fitbit, Galaxy Watch, Polar, Suunto, Coros and Amazfit.

Independent house or group house

Ownership is not supplied for every house on this page, so do not infer a group from a familiar name. 88 Rue du Rhone is described as independent; Adriatica and Adria are described as parent Swiss brands manufacturing for Eastern European markets.

For other houses, use only the ownership statement the maker provides. Headquarters can still help distinguish houses: Bovet Fleurier lists Geneva, while A. Lange & Söhne lists the Black Forest.

What buyers ask

How is the A to Z watch-brand list ordered?

It is ordered by house name. Country lists use founding year, oldest first.

Are smartwatch makers scored?

No. Smartwatches stand by maker, with the newest generation first.

What is the wrist score for workout apps?

It starts at 3.8 and adds points for watch support, named families, plans, prices, platforms, documentation, page recency and list order.

Can I see who owns each watch house?

Only when an ownership statement is provided. Do not infer ownership from a name or headquarters.

Where was Breitling founded?

Breitling was founded in 1884 in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, and is headquartered in Grenchen.
