Apple Watch Series 10 is the iPhone-connected choice; Samsung says Galaxy Watch7 is not compatible with iOS and requires Android 11 or later. If you use an iPhone, choose the Apple side. If you use Android, compare which Galaxy Watch7 functions your particular phone and region support before buying.
Start with phone compatibility
Galaxy Watch7 is not an iPhone alternative. Samsung’s India compatibility listing, updated September 9, 2026, specifies Android 11 or later and at least 1.5 GB of RAM for supported Samsung and non-Samsung phones, subject to exceptions; it marks iOS as unsupported. Requirements can vary by market, so check Samsung’s current compatibility details for your country and phone.
Apple positions Series 10 within its iPhone and watchOS system. Check Apple’s current regional compatibility information for the iPhone and software requirements that apply where you live; the exact minimum is not established here. Apple Watch Series 10 specifications describe its health, safety, connectivity and watchOS features.
| Question | Apple Watch Series 10 | Samsung Galaxy Watch7 |
|---|---|---|
| Phone platform | Apple’s iPhone-connected watch | Android 11 or later; iOS unsupported, according to Samsung’s India listing dated September 9, 2026 |
| Non-Samsung phone support | Not applicable to the iPhone-side ecosystem | Basic compatibility is listed, but Samsung warns that some functions and the experience may differ |
| Advanced Samsung Health Monitor access | Not applicable | Some features require a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone; requirements vary by feature and region |
Samsung’s product information puts the distinction plainly: “Some watch features may work differently and user experience may differ between Samsung devices and non-Samsung devices depending upon their device compatibility.” (Samsung Galaxy Watch7 product information.)

Galaxy Watch7 features can depend on the phone
Pairing a Galaxy Watch7 with a non-Samsung Android phone does not mean every advertised function will be available. Samsung’s US Health Monitor information says the app is compatible only with some Samsung phones and watches, and lists a Samsung phone running Android 12 or later for the app. Sleep-apnea use requires Galaxy Watch4 or newer, so the Watch7 meets that watch-generation condition; phone, app and regional requirements still apply.
Blood-pressure monitoring has an additional setup requirement: Samsung’s instructions call for pairing over Bluetooth with a Galaxy smartphone and calibrating the watch against a separate blood-pressure cuff. That is a feature-specific restriction, not a requirement for ordinary Galaxy Watch7 pairing. Check the exact feature’s authorization and availability in your region before treating it as part of your purchase decision.

Samsung describes Galaxy Watch7 features including heart-rate monitoring and sleep tracking, alongside Samsung Health Monitor functions. Availability and setup vary. Samsung says its heart-rate software functions are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent disease; neither watch should be treated as a medical diagnosis.
Health features are not a simple accuracy contest
Apple lists sleep-apnea notifications and other health and safety features for Series 10. Samsung also lists health-monitoring capabilities for Watch7, but access to some advanced functions depends on the phone, app setup and supported geography. A feature appearing on a product page does not establish that it is available on every paired phone or in every country.

So, for the reader asking which one tracks health better, the evidence here does not establish a universal accuracy winner. First confirm that the specific feature you care about is supported on your phone and in your region. Then consider whether its setup, alerts and associated app fit how you want to use the watch. Do not compare a feature you can access on one configuration with one that is unavailable on the other and call that a measurement of tracking accuracy.
Battery: keep Apple’s estimate in context
Apple rates Series 10 for up to 18 hours of normal use. That is Apple’s manufacturer estimate, based on a specified use profile—not a guarantee of the runtime an individual will get. Apple also describes faster charging. Its September 2024 launch announcement said Series 10 was nearly 10 percent thinner than Series 7, Series 8 and Series 9, and said it maintained all-day 18-hour battery life.

The official Samsung sources cited here do not provide an equivalent Galaxy Watch7 battery figure measured under a directly comparable test profile. That leaves no sound basis for naming a battery winner from these figures alone. Your actual charging routine will also depend on how you use the watch; compare clearly described, matched testing if battery life is the deciding factor rather than treating Apple’s rating as a head-to-head result.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Choose by the features and routine you will actually use
- You own an iPhone: Series 10 is the compatible option in this matchup; Samsung lists Watch7 as incompatible with iOS.
- You own a Samsung Galaxy phone: Both watches are not relevant as equal phone-platform alternatives; Galaxy Watch7 is the Android-side option, and certain Samsung Health Monitor features have Galaxy-phone requirements.
- You own another Android phone: Watch7 may be compatible if the phone meets the applicable requirements, but check function-by-function access. Samsung warns that features can behave differently on non-Samsung devices.
- You are focused on one health feature: Verify the feature’s phone, app, setup and country requirements first. For Samsung blood-pressure monitoring, include the separate cuff calibration step in your decision.
- You are focused on battery: Treat Apple’s 18-hour figure as a manufacturer estimate under its stated profile, not as a matched comparison with Watch7.
After compatibility and feature access, the remaining choice is personal: interface, shape, services, fit and charging habits matter in daily use, but none makes one watch universally better for everyone. Product specifications and availability can change; confirm current local requirements before purchase. Samsung Health Monitor requirements and Samsung blood-pressure setup instructions provide feature-specific details.
