Breitling introduced the Aerospace B70 Orbiter on March 21, 2024, pairing the collection’s ana-digi pilot-watch layout with a thermo-compensated, COSC-certified SuperQuartz movement and details commemorating Orbiter 3’s historic balloon flight. The 43 mm titanium watch comes on either a black rubber strap or a titanium bracelet; a window in the caseback reveals a segment of the original balloon.
What is the Breitling Aerospace B70 Orbiter?
The B70 Orbiter is a commemorative Aerospace and the first model in the next-generation B70-equipped line described in launch coverage. Its analog hands work alongside LCD displays, while the orange dial, mission logo and caseback artifact connect the design to Orbiter 3. The anniversary theme is established, but the available sources do not establish a production limit.
The launch date marked 25 years since Bertrand Piccard and Brian Jones completed the first nonstop circumnavigation of Earth by balloon. General Aviation News reports that the pair landed in the Egyptian desert on March 21, 1999. Bucherer gives the flight’s duration as 19 days, 21 hours and 47 minutes, and its route distance as 45,633 km.
What is different about the Aerospace B70?
The headline change is the B70 Manufacture caliber, a thermo-compensated SuperQuartz movement certified by COSC. The design retains the Aerospace’s analog-and-digital character but adds three pushers alongside the crown, rather than relying on the single-crown control approach associated with earlier Aerospace models. Fratello reports approximately two years of battery life.

Breitling and retailer product descriptions characterize the B70’s SuperQuartz accuracy as ten times that of standard quartz. That is a product claim, not an independently reported comparative test. The listed functions make this more than a basic three-hand quartz watch:
- 1/100-second chronograph with split-time and flyback functions
- Lap timer and electronic tachymeter
- Countdown timer and second time zone
- Alarms, an end-of-life battery indicator and digital calendar
Sources differ in how they describe calendar permanence and the number of alarms. Consult the watch’s manual for exact operating details; this article does not provide button-by-button instructions.

What are the case, dial and strap options?
The case is Grade 2 titanium, measuring 43 mm across, 52.25 mm lug-to-lug and 12.95 mm thick. It has a sapphire crystal with glareproof coating on both sides, a screw-secured titanium caseback with an exhibition window, and a stated water resistance of 10 bar (100 m).
The orange dial has a black vignette, luminous numerals and a mission logo. Launch coverage links the orange color to the Orbiter 3 capsule. Through the caseback window, a segment of the original balloon is visible. General Aviation News reproduces the caseback inscription as “First non-stop flight around the world 25th anniversary.”

The documented differences are strap material and configuration. The cited sources do not establish comparative wearing weight, comfort or fit, so those are best judged in person; the 52.25 mm lug-to-lug measurement may be useful when assessing wrist fit.

Prices depend on market, date and seller. Fratello’s launch coverage on March 21, 2024 listed £3,800 for the rubber-strap version and £3,950 for the titanium-bracelet version. Bucherer’s US product page displayed $5,100 when accessed in 2026. These figures are not directly comparable: one is launch reporting in pounds and the other a retailer’s US listing at a later date. Check a local Breitling retailer for a current quote and confirm applicable taxes, shipping, returns and warranty terms.
