Announced on October 14, 2025, OMEGA’s updated Speedmaster Dark and Grey Side of the Moon collection spans seven models in four design expressions. The watches keep the familiar 44.25 mm diameter, but differ in thickness, winding style, movement, dial, date display and strap. The slim, hand-wound Dark-Red measures 13.02 mm thick; the automatic Dark-White and Dark-Dark are 15.09 mm; and the hand-wound Grey Side is 12.97 mm, according to Monochrome Watches’ launch review.
What changed in the 2025 Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon?
OMEGA presented the collection as a major technical revision, with updated case profiles, ceramic construction and movements. The brand says its ceramic techniques were developed over four years and highlights newly bevelled polished ceramic, enhanced Liquidmetal technology at the bezels and crowns, and two-layer ceramic dials. Those are OMEGA’s descriptions of its own materials and processes.
The announcement covers four design expressions across seven models: Dark-Red, Dark-White, Dark-Dark and Grey Side of the Moon. The case diameter remains 44.25 mm throughout, while the versions have different profiles and thicknesses. OMEGA also introduced rubber and nylon strap options. Its release describes the nylon straps as rubber-lined and says the new rubber straps have lunar-surface patterns on their reverse.
Which new Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon model is which?
The detailed references, dimensions, strap configurations and launch prices below are reported by Monochrome Watches. Prices are the amounts reported at the October 2025 launch, not current offers. CHF amounts are listed excluding tax; EUR amounts are listed including tax, so they are not directly comparable as like-for-like totals.

Monochrome reports 50 m water resistance for the watches it describes. Its review gives a 60-hour power reserve for the Dark-Red’s calibre 9908 and the Dark-White and Dark-Dark’s calibre 9900.
How do Dark-White and Dark-Dark differ?
Both are automatic versions powered by calibre 9900, and both have a date and a two-register chronograph layout. Dark-White is the more conventional, higher-contrast interpretation: its white-gold hands and markers stand out against the dial. Dark-Dark instead takes a stealthier approach, pairing a matte, nearly all-black dial with a blackened movement. The two share the reported 15.09 mm thickness but have separate nylon- and rubber-strap references.

How thick is the updated Omega Dark Side of the Moon?
There is no single thickness for the updated collection. Monochrome reports 13.02 mm for Dark-Red, 15.09 mm for Dark-White and Dark-Dark, and 12.97 mm for Grey Side of the Moon. All four expressions retain the 44.25 mm diameter stated by OMEGA. The figures make the hand-wound Dark-Red and Grey Side slimmer than the automatic Dark-White and Dark-Dark, despite the shared collection dimensions.
How much did the 2025 Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon cost at launch?
Monochrome’s October 2025 launch report lists CHF prices from CHF 12,200 to CHF 12,800 excluding tax, and EUR prices from EUR 15,400 to EUR 16,200 including tax, depending on expression. These are launch figures, not verified current prices or availability. Tax treatment differs between the reported currencies, and the cited sources do not establish present-day stock or seller status.

What to check when comparing references
- Winding and thickness: Dark-Red and Grey Side are hand-wound; Dark-White and Dark-Dark are automatic. Their reported thicknesses differ by version.
- Date and legibility: Dark-White and Dark-Dark include a date at 6, while Dark-Red is described without a date. The brighter Dark-White hands and markers contrast with Dark-Dark’s near-monochrome treatment.
- Strap reference: nylon and rubber configurations have distinct reference numbers. Confirm the precise reference and strap compatibility before ordering a replacement or assuming a strap is included.
- Price context: use the launch figures as historical context only; check a current OMEGA or retailer listing for present pricing and availability.
