What makes a watch GADA?
“Most of you will be familiar with the concept of a Go Anywhere, Do Anything watch, but what that translates to is highly personal,” Weppelink writes. In practice, the label describes a watch someone considers versatile enough for settings such as the office, casual outings, formal occasions, or outdoor use. A diver, chronograph, or understated all-rounder might all fit, depending on the wearer. It is an informal use concept, not a technical category with fixed specifications.

1. RZE Resolute Pro Jet Black
Weppelink’s first pick is a lightweight titanium field watch. Fratello highlights its angular case, black enamel dial, luminous applied markers, titanium bracelet, quick-release spring bars, and toolless micro-adjust clasp. The case and bracelet have scratch-resistant UltraHex coating. Its 40 mm diameter and 46 mm lug-to-lug measurement offer a useful starting point for judging fit, though dimensions alone cannot predict comfort on every wrist.
The watch uses a Miyota 90S5 automatic movement with a reported 42-hour power reserve. Fratello quoted $629 in 2024. The article notes that the model technically appeared in the final weeks of 2023, rather than the first half of 2024.

2. Longines Conquest 38
Fratello points to the 38 mm Conquest, particularly its black- and white-dial versions, as an everyday option. The stainless-steel case is reported as 10.9 mm thick and 46.8 mm from lug to lug. An ETA-based L888 automatic caliber provides a reported 72-hour reserve, and the watch has a sapphire display back.
The bracelet uses half links for sizing, but the article says its clasp lacks micro-adjustment. That distinction may matter if you prefer to fine-tune bracelet fit without removing or adding links. Fratello’s 2024 quoted price was €2,300.

3. VPC Type 37HW
The Type 37HW was developed around the GADA idea. Fratello identifies VPC as a startup brand founded by its own Thomas van Straaten, and Weppelink acknowledges the possible editorial bias. The watch measures 37.5 mm across, 9.8 mm thick, and 45 mm lug to lug, with a reported 120 m depth rating. It was offered in three dial colors, and the article reports a hard coating rated to 1,800 Vickers.
Its COSC-certified Sellita SW216-1 is a manual-winding movement with a reported 45-hour power reserve. The stainless-steel bracelet has a toolless micro-adjustment. Fratello listed the price as €2,479 excluding VAT and shipping.

4. Tudor Black Bay Master Chronometer, black
Introduced at Watches and Wonders in 2024, the black-dial Black Bay—also called “Monochrome”—is the largest and thickest watch in this group by the reported case dimensions: 41 mm across, 13.6 mm thick, and 50 mm long. Its reported water-resistance rating is 200 m. The Kenissi-produced MT5602-U automatic movement is described as METAS Master Chronometer-certified and has a 70-hour power reserve.
Fratello compared a three-link bracelet, quoted at €4,510, with a five-link version at €4,620. The article’s listed dimensions and prices apply to its 2024 discussion; verify the exact version and current details when comparing watches for purchase.

5. Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 38, black dial
Weppelink favors the 38 mm Aqua Terra for everyday wear. The stainless-steel model is reported as 45.1 mm lug to lug and 12.3 mm thick, with 150 m water resistance. Its curved, tapering bracelet includes clasp comfort adjustment. The black lacquer dial departs from the teak-inspired pattern associated with other Aqua Terra dials.
Inside is the automatic caliber 8800, with a date at 6 o’clock and a reported 55-hour power reserve. Fratello quoted €7,300 in 2024.

The picks are not one specification class. Their diameters run from 37.5 mm to 41 mm, while reported lug-to-lug lengths span 45 mm to 50 mm. Thickness, water resistance, winding style, bracelet adjustment, and price also differ. Use the figures as a first-pass comparison, then consider the kind of wear that matters most to you.
- Start with fit: Compare diameter, thickness, and lug-to-lug length with a watch you already find comfortable. Lug-to-lug and thickness can affect how a watch sits, but wrist shape and bracelet fit matter too.
- Match water resistance to use: The article reports 120 m for the VPC, 200 m for the Tudor, and 150 m for the Omega. It does not state ratings for the RZE or Longines, so this list alone cannot establish how those two compare for water exposure.
- Choose how you want to wind: The VPC is manual-winding; the other four are automatic. Their reported reserves range from 42 to 72 hours, but reserve is only one part of how a watch fits your routine.
- Consider bracelet adjustment: The RZE and VPC are described with toolless micro-adjustment, and the Omega has clasp comfort adjustment. Fratello notes half links but no micro-adjust on the Longines clasp; it lists two bracelet choices for the Tudor.
- Weigh versatility against personal style: The rugged titanium RZE, dressier-leaning proportions of the VPC, and more substantial sports-watch cases offer different interpretations of “go anywhere.” Fratello’s versatility judgments are editorial opinions, not controlled comparisons.
