H. Moser & Cie.’s Alpine Motorsports collaboration spans three distinct watch concepts: a mechanical flyback chronograph for drivers, a connected edition conceived for mechanics, and a ceramic skeleton tourbillon aimed at collectors. They are not interchangeable versions of one racing watch; each expresses a different relationship between watchmaking and the Alpine team.
What is the H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine Motorsports partnership?
H. Moser & Cie. describes itself as Alpine Motorsports’ “First Global Partner.” The watchmaker says the relationship reaches across the BWT Alpine F1 Team, Alpine Endurance Team, Alpine Academy, Rac(H)er and other projects. Its account also describes an exchange program linking the F1 team’s technical centre in Enstone with Moser’s manufacture in Neuhausen am Rheinfall. Those are the partnership’s stated scope and activities, as presented by Moser, rather than independent measures of its impact. H. Moser & Cie.’s partnership explainer quotes David Gendry, then VP of BWT Alpine F1 Team and VP Communications Alpine Brand, saying: “For Alpine and for H. Moser & Cie., every second counts.”
The partnership was announced in February 2024, according to Moser’s retrospective. Its first watch, the Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition, debuted at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai in April 2024 and was limited to 100 pieces. The later ceramic Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton is a separate, third collaboration creation—not that first release in a different case. Moser’s retrospective on the 2024 partnership records the first release; the current ceramic edition is described on its product page.

The Drivers Edition: a mechanical chronograph with an unusual layout
The Drivers Edition is the collaboration’s most direct mechanical expression of a racing role. Its HMC 700 skeletonised chronograph displays minutes and seconds centrally instead of separating chronograph readings into subdials. Moser specifies a flyback function, which allows the chronograph to be reset and restarted in one action. The design therefore keeps the timing function central to the dial rather than presenting the watch as a conventional subdial chronograph.
Moser also points to V-shaped bridges, a bridge visible on the caseback and a rotor design as details referencing racing hardware. These are design cues described by the manufacturer; they do not establish that the watch was engineered or tested for use during a race. The Mechanics Edition: connected technology for the team
The Mechanics Edition is a different kind of object from the Drivers watch. Alpine describes it as a connected digital showcase designed around the needs of a Formula 1 team. Its intended context is team work, not the mechanical chronograph experience of the Drivers Edition. The available announcement does not specify its price, edition quantity, or a comparable movement and complication set, so those details should not be inferred from the mechanical model.
That distinction is central to the collaboration: the driver’s edition turns racing timing into a traditional mechanical complication, while the mechanics edition uses connected technology for a team-oriented concept. Alpine’s announcement provides the description of the Streamliner Alpine Drivers and Mechanics Editions.

The ceramic tourbillon: a separate collector-focused model
The Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Ceramic Alpine Limited Edition takes the collaboration away from practical team equipment and toward high horology. Its anthracite-grey ceramic case frames an open-worked HMC 814 automatic calibre with Alpine-blue bridges and main plate. Moser specifies a one-minute flying double hairspring tourbillon, a 40.0 mm case, 12 ATM water resistance, an integrated blue Alcantara bracelet and a 72-hour power reserve.
Moser lists ref. 6814-2100 at CHF 79,000 excluding VAT and limits it to 100 pieces on the product page checked on 4 October 2026. Which Alpine watch makes sense for which reader?
- For the mechanical chronograph: the Drivers Edition is the relevant choice if the appeal is a skeletonised movement and centrally displayed flyback timing.
- For the team-connected concept: the Mechanics Edition is the one conceived for mechanics, but the cited announcement does not provide enough detail to compare it on price or specification.
- For the tourbillon and ceramic construction: the Ceramic Alpine Limited Edition is the collector-oriented option, with a separate movement, complication and material brief rather than a practical substitute for either team-role edition.
