Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro for Cycling: What It Does—and What Hasn’t Been Proven

The GT 6 Pro offers cyclists wrist-based ride metrics, virtual power and Bluetooth sensor support. Here’s what’s independently tested, what remains uncertain, and how to assess the phone and display trade-offs.

The Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro has a compelling set of cycling features, including on-wrist ride metrics, virtual power and cadence, sensor pairing, and an advertised cycling-mode battery life of up to 40 hours. That makes it worth considering for riders who want a multisport watch. But the evidence here does not establish that its virtual power is accurate enough for structured training, or that it can replace a dedicated bike computer. The “new favourite” verdict is personal; the useful question is whether its features fit your rides and phone setup.

What cycling data can the GT 6 Pro show?

Huawei says the watch can record heart rate, inclination, speed and distance on a ride. It also offers virtual cycling power and real-time cadence without requiring a separate power meter or cadence sensor, according to the Huawei UK product page. Those are manufacturer-described functions, not independent confirmation of their accuracy.

The watch can also pair over Bluetooth with a heart-rate strap, cadence sensor, power meter and speedometer. Huawei says pairing a power meter allows it to track FTP metrics over time, and that heart-rate data can be synchronized to a bike computer. Verify support for the specific sensor model and your intended workflow before relying on a pairing.

How should you judge virtual power?

Virtual power is not the same as measuring force at the pedals or crank with a physical power meter. Huawei describes its feature as a way to get power and cadence data without those accessories, but the independent review cited below did not test virtual-power accuracy. There is therefore no evidence here to establish how closely its readings match a physical meter or whether they are dependable enough for power-based training targets.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

If you mainly want an approximate ride metric, the built-in feature may be useful to explore. If your training depends on repeatable, comparable power readings, use a compatible physical power meter and treat its measurements—not an unvalidated virtual estimate—as your reference.

What did independent testing find about heart rate?

In a review published on 4 October 2025, TechRadar reviewer Matt Evans said he wore the watch for around two weeks and compared it during stationary cycling with a Polar H10 heart-rate monitor and Apple Watch Ultra 3. He reported no statistically significant differences between the GT 6 Pro’s heart-rate graph and the Polar H10, and an average heart-rate reading 1 bpm off. That is one reviewer’s stationary-bike comparison, not a clinical study or a test of outdoor ride accuracy.

How long does the battery last?

Huawei’s product-page figures are maximum claims for different use conditions; they are not interchangeable guarantees for every rider.

Huawei-stated use condition Claimed battery life
Light use Up to 21 days
Typical use Up to 12 days
Always-on display enabled Up to 7 days
Cycling mode Up to 40 hours

These are Huawei’s claims for the 2025 product generation, not independently measured cycling-only results. In its broader testing, which included multiple GPS-enabled workouts but did not specify a cycling-only battery protocol, TechRadar reported about two weeks of use. Your result will depend on settings and usage.

Will the watch work with your phone and ride apps?

Huawei describes features such as automatic recognition of cycling, pausing around breaks, showing ride information through phone synchronization, voice navigation through earphones, and fall detection with SOS functions. Those options do not establish that every phone, app or regional software version supports the same workflow, and an SOS feature is not a substitute for emergency services.

TechRadar reported constrained third-party app functionality and friction with setup and interfacing, while also describing Huawei Health integration with Strava, Komoot and other services. That does not confirm that every connection or feature will work for every rider. Before buying, check the current Huawei Health support and app availability for your phone, country and software version, then confirm whether your intended Strava or Komoot data flow is supported. If you use a Garmin bike computer, check whether the specific sensor or data-sharing workflow you need is supported; the available information does not establish full Garmin ecosystem compatibility.

Is the watch screen enough, or do you need a bike computer?

The GT 6 Pro can put ride metrics on your wrist and, according to Huawei, can share heart-rate data with a bike computer. The sources do not establish that its display or navigation is equivalent to a dedicated cycling computer. Riders who need a large, continuously visible map or several easy-to-read data fields while riding may prefer a bike-mounted screen; those who want basic metrics on the wrist may find a watch more convenient. Consider your visibility and control needs on the kind of rides you actually do.

Who is the GT 6 Pro a good fit for?

  • Consider it if you want a fitness watch with cycling metrics, optional Bluetooth sensor support and a virtual power feature, and you are willing to check that its phone and app setup works for you.
  • Be cautious if accurate power is central to your training, since the available independent test did not validate virtual power.
  • Look beyond a watch alone if your rides depend on a large navigation display or readily readable in-ride data fields.

TechRadar listed the watch at £329.99 in the UK on 4 October 2025. That is a dated review price, not a current quote or a price for other markets.
