Developed under the Reebok Powered by Lucyd branding, the glasses are primarily Bluetooth audio eyewear: they offer open-ear listening and phone-connected features, not a camera or heads-up display. As of August 18, 2026, Lucyd’s U.S. site marked the original sports models out of stock and its newer optical styles available soon.
What launched in April 2025?
The April 28, 2025 announcement introduced Reebok-branded smart eyewear developed by Innovative Eyewear using its Lucyd technology. Reebok supplies the licensed sports brand; it is not identified as the electronics manufacturer. The initial sales channel was Lucyd.co, with worldwide availability stated in the launch announcement. Innovative Eyewear’s launch announcement described the product as a hands-free option for calls, music, podcasts, voice assistants and other connected functions.

The central idea is audio built into eyewear. Small speakers let the wearer listen without sealing off the ears, so surrounding sounds remain more audible than with in-ear headphones. That can be useful for outdoor activity and everyday calls, but open-ear sound is not sound isolation: traffic, wind or a loud gym may make listening harder.
How the glasses work—and what they do not do
The sports collection lists Bluetooth 5.3, voice controls, noise-cancelling microphones, magnetic charging and access to phone-connected assistant functions. Lucyd also promotes music, calls, directions, translations and AI interaction through its connected experience. Treat these as manufacturer-described functions, not independent performance findings. AI assistance should not be read as proof that the glasses run a self-contained AI system; the described experience depends on a phone and Lucyd’s app.
#1 Best Overall

- Superior HiFi Sound Engineering: USA-designed audio system delivers exceptional sound quality with rich bass and clear highs that surpass conventional audio eyewear
- Multi-Sport Performance: Lightweight, secure construction with adjustable nosepads ensures comfort across cycling, padel, tennis, running, and cross-training activities
- All Day Battery: 8-hour battery life supports your full day of activities—from pre-dawn training rides to evening court sessions on a single charge
The product is not presented as camera eyewear or augmented reality. The reviewed product information describes no built-in camera, visual display or navigation overlay, and does not establish independent cellular connectivity. The newer optical collection explicitly highlights its camera-free design, which may appeal to people concerned about recording in workplaces, schools or venues. Lucyd’s Reebok optical collection page provides that camera-free positioning.
Original sports models and current listings
Lucyd’s Reebok sports page lists six models. Its U.S. listings showed the following prices and inventory status on August 18, 2026; a listed price does not mean a frame is currently orderable.
| Model | Displayed price | Lucyd U.S. page status, Aug. 18, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Flash | $139 sale; $199 regular | Out of stock |
| Octane | $149 sale; $199 regular | Out of stock |
| Octane Shift | $149 sale; $199 regular | Out of stock |
| Voltage | $149 sale; $199 regular | Out of stock |
| Nitrous | $159 sale; $199 regular | Out of stock |
| Nitrous Shift | $159 sale; $199 regular | Out of stock |
These are displayed prices on Lucyd’s U.S. page, not a promise of stock or a price offered by other retailers. The current Reebok sports collection listing also advertises open-ear audio, UV 400 protection, polarized lenses on applicable sports models, moisture resistance and more than eight hours of continuous performance. Those are product-page claims; the material reviewed does not independently establish battery life, audio quality, durability or a model-specific water-resistance rating. Do not apply an IP56 rating listed for another Lucyd product to these Reebok models.
The newer prescription-oriented optical collection
On April 16, 2026, Innovative Eyewear announced six Reebok Powered by Lucyd optical styles aimed at prescription wearers. The current Lucyd page reviewed showed four: Dash, Thunder, Jet and Shine. Each was displayed at $249 and labeled “available soon” on August 18, 2026. The announcement’s six-style count and the four visible listings are not the same; the two other announced styles could not be confirmed as currently listed.
The company says the optical frames can be ordered with prescription lenses. Announced features include automatic power-on when the temples open and power-off when they close, touch sensors under the temples for assistant, volume and call controls, rubberized nose pads and earpieces, and an approximate weight of 1.2 ounces. The announcement also claims improved audio playback over previous optical collections and markets up to 12 hours of gym use. These are company specifications and claims, not independently measured results. See the April 2026 collection announcement and the current optical listing.

How availability changed
- April 28, 2025: Innovative Eyewear announced the original Reebok smart eyewear through Lucyd.co, saying it was available worldwide and that broader Reebok and retailer availability was expected later in the quarter. Launch announcement.
- July 21, 2025: The company announced availability through the Reebok mobile app and said Reebok.com would be the next channel, with availability announced for August 1. An announcement about a sales channel is not proof of current stock. Channel expansion announcement.
- April 16, 2026: Innovative Eyewear announced six optical styles and retail placements involving SportRx, Optimedic Group and SelectSpecs.com. The release said Kits.ca and Kits.com were planned for early May 2026; the announcement alone does not confirm current stock at those retailers. Optical collection announcement.
- August 18, 2026: Lucyd’s U.S. listings showed the six sports models out of stock and four optical styles available soon. Sports listings and optical listings.
Phone, prescription and purchase considerations
Lucyd presents its app as part of the connected experience and says the app is free with smart-eyewear purchases. The sources cited here do not establish a complete current compatibility matrix for iOS and Android versions, phone models, or which assistant functions work natively versus through a phone app. Check the Lucyd app page and current support information for compatibility before buying.
For optical frames, prescription compatibility does not guarantee that every prescription, lens type or regional option will be available at the same price. Lucyd’s product FAQ says prescriptions can be selected and uploaded from the product page; it recommends a prescription from within the last year and says prescriptions up to two years old may be accepted. Confirm suitability with an optician, especially for complex or progressive prescriptions, which the company says may take longer to process. Review the current lens guide and product FAQ and warranty details before ordering; Lucyd displays a one-year limited warranty, whose terms may change.
Retailer inventory, prices, lens options and policies can differ from Lucyd.co. For cancellations, returns, shipping or payment and insurance questions, check the current refund policy, shipping policy and payment and insurance information rather than assuming that prescription orders follow the same process as standard frames.
Who should consider Reebok smart eyewear?
- Potential fit: Someone who wants open-ear audio, hands-free calls and voice controls in eyewear, prefers a camera-free design, or is interested in prescription-capable frames once the optical models can be ordered.
- Less suitable: Someone seeking a camera, visual notifications, an AR overlay, independent cellular operation, sealed-ear sound isolation or guaranteed immediate stock.
- Practical trade-off: Combining glasses and audio reduces the need to wear separate headphones, but adds charging, Bluetooth pairing, app setup and reliance on a companion phone. Open-ear listening can preserve environmental awareness while sacrificing isolation in noisy or windy settings.
The launch is a genuine product milestone, but the present buying picture is different from the 2025 headline: the original sports listings were out of stock and the newer optical listings were not yet orderable on Lucyd’s U.S. site as of August 18, 2026. Check the live product pages and retailer listings before making a purchase decision.
