Citizen says production is limited to 8,000 unnumbered pieces worldwide. Its compact case, gold-tone details and date magnifier distinguish it from the regular 37mm Tsuyosa colors.
What is the Citizen Tsuyosa 37mm Time Slip?
The Time Slip is a later, limited black-dial addition to Citizen’s Tsuyosa 37mm family. Citizen’s regional product material describes the dial as a gradient or fumé black that lightens toward grey, giving the surface a smoked appearance rather than a flat solid-black finish.

The watch uses reference NJ0200-50E. Its design follows the Tsuyosa formula: an integrated-looking stainless-steel bracelet, a crown positioned at 4 o’clock, a date display at 3 o’clock and applied luminous hands and indices. Gold-tone accents add contrast against the dark dial and steel case.

Dial and case design
Smoked gradient dial
The defining feature is the black-to-grey gradient. The darker center and lighter outer area create the “smoked black” effect, while gold-tone hands, indices and other details keep the dial legible and add a dressier note.

Compact 37mm proportions
At 37mm wide and 11.5mm thick, the Time Slip is smaller than many contemporary integrated-bracelet sports watches. The dimensions suit buyers who find larger Tsuyosa models too dominant, while retaining the collection’s rounded case and bracelet profile.
Date magnifier and 4 o’clock crown
A date window sits at 3 o’clock beneath a magnifying element in the sapphire crystal. The crown is placed at 4 o’clock, a familiar Tsuyosa design cue that keeps the right side of the case visually distinctive.
Calibre 8210: what to expect
Citizen specifies the Calibre 8210 as an automatic movement that can also be wound manually. It has 21 jewels, beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and stores approximately 42 hours of power when fully wound.

The published average accuracy range is -20 to +40 seconds per day. That figure describes Citizen’s stated operating specification; an individual watch can perform differently depending on how it is positioned, wound and worn. It should not be read as an independent timing test or a promise that every example will run at one exact rate.
Water resistance and everyday use
The case is rated to 50m / 5 bar. Citizen Canada labels this rating “Swimming,” but the rating alone does not establish suitability for every water activity, impact scenario or condition. Keep the crown secured and have the seals checked at service intervals, particularly if the watch is regularly exposed to water.
How limited is the Time Slip?
Citizen Canada and Citizen’s EU shop state that 8,000 unnumbered watches were produced worldwide. Because the pieces are unnumbered, the case or dial does not provide an individual edition number such as “123/8000.” The limit is a production total, not a statement about how many remain available in any particular country.

Launch context and place in the Tsuyosa range
Citizen Global announced the Tsuyosa 37mm family in February 2025 as the collection’s first compact 37mm size. The initial launch colors were Ice Blue, Pastel Pink and Dark Green, with a spring 2025 release and a projected launch price of USD 375 for those original colored models.
Citizen describes the broader Tsuyosa line as a reimagining of its NH299 mechanical line from the late 1990s and early 2000s. The Time Slip keeps that family identity but changes the visual emphasis to a dark fumé dial and limited-edition positioning. Citizen says the name “TSUYOSA is taken from the word for strength in Japanese.”

Who should consider the Time Slip?
- Choose it for: a compact 37mm automatic watch, a dark gradient dial, sapphire crystal and a limited production run.
- Consider another Tsuyosa for: a brighter dial color, a non-limited model or availability in a market where the Time Slip is sold out.
- Plan around: the stated -20 to +40 seconds-per-day accuracy range, approximately 42-hour reserve and 50m / 5 bar water-resistance rating.
Bottom line
The NJ0200-50E gives the Tsuyosa 37mm a more restrained, dress-oriented look without abandoning its integrated-bracelet case, automatic movement or practical date display. Its strongest differentiators are the smoked black fumé dial, sapphire crystal with date magnifier and the 8,000-piece worldwide limit. Prices and stock are regional and volatile, so verify the current listing in your market before treating any figure as an active offer.
